This actually was an amazing intro. What surprised me so much is how cinematic the intro and how it was pulled off on far outdated hardware at this point. SNK had fully mastered the hardware at this point and was able to pull off polished intros like this

No, I am talking about the timeline stuff KOF universe is a totally separate thing from the "normal" SNK timeline (SS/LB/AOF/FF/B1) and that's why they can use any char from that universe without worrying about continuity issues. That's why Terry and Ryo are the same age there (among other stuff that, otherwise, wouldn't make any sense). The normal SNK timeline has a established continuity, where the characters age and display their correct age. In Garou, i.e., Terry is 35 and in some of the promotional art they show the Kyokugenryu clan looking way older (Ryo is around 10 or more years older than Terry, and in that poster he looks way too veteran...and Yuri stopped looking like a eternal loli). And yes I know the first FF tournament was called KOF and all that, and Garou's was also called like that, but story mentions that it's been years since the last one was celebrated (unlike the KOF universe, where the tournament is celebrated yearly). That's why of my comment. Though I think we both agree in a certain degree lol

Non canon easter egg. The only thing they share in common is that AOF and Fatal Fury both happened except without you know who dying obviously.
