This video shows you how to install a power liftgate actuator on your 2015-2020 Cadillac Escalade. If the rear liftgate won't open automatically anymore, it might be stuck, or the actuator may be broken.

Thanks for this video as my power liftgate actuator has stopped closing the liftgate and wanted to find a fix. Question about the scan tool you mentioned to program it. Is that needed to get the liftgate to close? What scan tool is needed and how do you do the programing?
I should have checked out the comments when I watched this video. I too did not have to have my vehicle "reprogrammed". I was scared to have to take it in and have it done for fear of the cost. I'm a woman who easily changed the actuator. I don't know if they are trying to help the mechanic shops and dealerships get extra money or what. Not accusing them or anything, but why say you need to get it reprogrammed.🤷
I didn't scan or reprogram anything??!!! It worked like new out of the box. What happens if I don't scan and reprogram the actuator?
