Kaya's been hitting the farms way too hard. The idea of Europeans freezing to death during winter is 100% a Russian cope they tell themselves to convince their populace that things will go back to normal. They won't. The only countries that are even remotely at risk of losing life and limb due to winter temperatures are the Nordic countries, none of which were relying on Russia for anything. Nordstream 2 was also never opened, and Nordstream 1 was on its way out, as Germany did a speedrun pivot to LNG terminal construction. Russian pipelines were only going to become more irrelevant as time went on, and they knew it. The pipelines were quite literally dead in the sea. The *only* use the Russians had for them anymore was blowing them up in an act of butthurt spite to cause an environmental disaster. The idea of the US or some other country sabotaging them to prevent a "backdoor deal" is pure Kremlin crack. Germany didn't spend all that time and money on LNG terminals to re-open pipelines. They were doing a 180 away from Russia, and all Russia had left was butthurt reeing.
I am german and I am not shaken in the slightest. I didnt even had to put the heater on once yet, and we also have other things than heaters that need gas. If things get more chilly here later on, I might pay a little more for electricity cause I will put my electrical heater on, then fill up some warming bottles and just go on with my life. Nobody here will die of the cold, just because Putin is throwing a tantrum. He seems to think Germany is Winterfell or something. Our winters arent even that intense anymore, depending on the region. The outrage is mostly about businesses having to pump up their prices cause the production of alot of things need alot of gas and electricity and thats what all the media outrage is about 24/7...nobody is freezing and nobody will starve. Cold weather is far superior to hot weather. Its much easier to get warm than it is to cool down. Can't lower your temperature when its hot constantly. With cold your temp drops but wrapping up warms you. Hot weather you're always hot, no matter what you do. You can increase body heat in cold easily, more clothing, coats, thermal socks, wrap up in a quilt.
Depends on the person only. I have low pressure or people that are anemic have problems with "getting warm". I'm cold even when I exercise in winter lol. I always lived in the middle of Europe, but always preferred hot countries, so it's not because of what I'm used to. I like feeling hot lol, you don't have to wear much it's great.

he's a contrarian, he's one of those people that think that just because the west and it's media is finally unified on something (condemning the Russian invasion) then there surely must be something fishy going on and that the opposite take is clearly the truth. As a Danish/German architect.. it was painful to listen to Kayas rant about German houses. He doesn't seem to know what he's talking about :D Because 1. Yes, Germans love old architecture. But they only want to live in it, if it's properly renovated and the insulation is on a modern level. People mostly love it because of the high ceilings and the detail to design. You just don't get that in modern architecture. In England or Ireland for example you can still find a lot of old houses with single glazed windows.. and people live there. That's extremely unusual in Germany. Most very old houses have new windows & new insulation inside the wall. 2. German building laws are some of the most strictly regulated in the world. There is a DIN norm for literally anything you can think of. That makes designing houses a lot more restrictive as opposed to countries like Denmark or the Netherlands- which are both known for their great designs. German architecture isn't on the same level visually - but when it comes to functionality, it's one of a kind. Meaning = the insulation is fantastic, but the design is very plain and cost effective. 3. He claims people are proud of living in houses that were build in the 60's.. which couldn't be further from the truth. Architecture from that time period is often looked down upon. That's post-war architecture my dude... the time period of awful design, cheap material and asbestos!

They have not talked about the topic at all. It's just sometimes Kaya gets ahead of himself and says some trash nobody wants to hear, and then he's met with deadpan silence from the other hosts. I'm certain Charlie and the others don't agree or care enough about the situation to even argue with him. Past few episodes have actually been pretty decent but again Kaya is an edgelord and sometimes the edge seeps into the podcast.

Kaya's been hitting the farms way too hard. The idea of Europeans freezing to death during winter is 100% a Russian cope they tell themselves to convince their populace that things will go back to normal. They won't. The only countries that are even remotely at risk of losing life and limb due to winter temperatures are the Nordic countries, none of which were relying on Russia for anything.
Nordstream 2 was also never opened, and Nordstream 1 was on its way out, as Germany did a speedrun pivot to LNG terminal construction. Russian pipelines were only going to become more irrelevant as time went on, and they knew it. The pipelines were quite literally dead in the sea. The *only* use the Russians had for them anymore was blowing them up in an act of butthurt spite to cause an environmental disaster.
The idea of the US or some other country sabotaging them to prevent a "backdoor deal" is pure Kremlin crack. Germany didn't spend all that time and money on LNG terminals to re-open pipelines. They were doing a 180 away from Russia, and all Russia had left was butthurt reeing.

I am german and I am not shaken in the slightest. I didnt even had to put the heater on once yet, and we also have other things than heaters that need gas. If things get more chilly here later on, I might pay a little more for electricity cause I will put my electrical heater on, then fill up some warming bottles and just go on with my life. Nobody here will die of the cold, just because Putin is throwing a tantrum. He seems to think Germany is Winterfell or something. Our winters arent even that intense anymore, depending on the region. The outrage is mostly about businesses having to pump up their prices cause the production of alot of things need alot of gas and electricity and thats what all the media outrage is about 24/7...nobody is freezing and nobody will starve. Cold weather is far superior to hot weather. Its much easier to get warm than it is to cool down. Can't lower your temperature when its hot constantly. With cold your temp drops but wrapping up warms you. Hot weather you're always hot, no matter what you do.
You can increase body heat in cold easily, more clothing, coats, thermal socks, wrap up in a quilt.

As a Danish/German architect.. it was painful to listen to Kayas rant about German houses. He doesn't seem to know what he's talking about :D

1. Yes, Germans love old architecture. But they only want to live in it, if it's properly renovated and the insulation is on a modern level. People mostly love it because of the high ceilings and the detail to design. You just don't get that in modern architecture.
In England or Ireland for example you can still find a lot of old houses with single glazed windows.. and people live there. That's extremely unusual in Germany. Most very old houses have new windows & new insulation inside the wall.
2. German building laws are some of the most strictly regulated in the world. There is a DIN norm for literally anything you can think of. That makes designing houses a lot more restrictive as opposed to countries like Denmark or the Netherlands- which are both known for their great designs. German architecture isn't on the same level visually - but when it comes to functionality, it's one of a kind. Meaning = the insulation is fantastic, but the design is very plain and cost effective.
3. He claims people are proud of living in houses that were build in the 60's.. which couldn't be further from the truth. Architecture from that time period is often looked down upon. That's post-war architecture my dude... the time period of awful design, cheap material and asbestos!

I started up this episode, cuz honestly I missed these guys, esp. Charlie and Jackson. And I'll be honest, I wanted to see if they had anything to say about the war. Not even 10 mins in I hear Kaya going on his usual uninformed rant and saying to take down Ukraine's flags??? That it's a "larp"???? Is he seriously blaming Ukraine for the energy crisis rn?????
Could someone please explain to me what thier views are on topic, or point me to an episode where they talk more about thier opinions on this topic? Cuz I dont want to support who blames Ukraine or anyone who stays silent when other do that.
They have not talked about the topic at all. It's just sometimes Kaya gets ahead of himself and says some trash nobody wants to hear, and then he's met with deadpan silence from the other hosts. I'm certain Charlie and the others don't agree or care enough about the situation to even argue with him. Past few episodes have actually been pretty decent but again Kaya is an edgelord and sometimes the edge seeps into the podcast.

Hearing kaya’s takes is absolutely bamboozling. He’s blaming zelensky for his country getting invaded therefore causing an energy shortage. Tf you want him to do let it happen? He’s so freakishly self centered and reactionary. It genuinely ruins podcasts when this guy talks. I’ve heard bad takes from him in the past but hating on Ukraine cause he’s gonna get cold while families are being bombed?

In Jackson's defense, I don't recall actually having in-depth studies of dinosaurs in elementary school. I had a lot of dinosaur books at home where I learned most of that stuff during that time.
Arent scientists going back and forth about how things are dated too? Every few years I read stuff about how things we thought are this and that old, are actually not and nobody can explain certain "out of place objects" either ....things that are dated to be millions of years old but the thing itself is some gadget and dated to a time where, according to recent studies, humans didnt even exist??? I think nobody really knows anything.

Exactly! They were doing the usual "Jackson is insane" thing they do like he went to some kind of cult school that didn't believe in dinosaurs just because it was a religious school. Even in public school I can confirm that they didn't care about dinosaurs at all. Pretty much everything I knew about them had to be learned outside of the classroom.
