The definition of fake shoes isn't blurry, it says Amiri on it so it's not fake, it's knock off. If it was fake then it would have a Nike logo on it.

Dope vid bud. I usually only refer to shoes as fake if they try to exactly replicate another shoe. I call this type of shoe a "knock-off", but considering it was super expensive, call it a custom or a rip-off.

I think they look pretty cool, and had they been solely an original concept and design they would have been a great shoe all around. However, when you factor the fact that Jordan 1's have been coming out for more than 35 years, it makes this shoe undoubtedly look like an off-knock, and thus kinda phony. I'd say they're legit and they're their on Amiri shoe UNTIL Nike/Jordan potentially goes after them for the design copy. Realistically that's all that matters, and if Nike doesn't do anything about it then they're indirectly acknowledging that the shoe is okay and it's own thing.

A custom is where a genuine sneaker is bought and then customised. Warren Lotas got in trouble for using fake dunks as a basis for his customisation rather than genuine dunks. The Amiri doesn't seem to be a custom.

I appreciate you taking one for the team to review this, but damn 800 dollars is a lot of money . I could think of at least 20 shoes I’d get for that amount.

If Lotas built off a true Jordan base shoe, it would be a custom, like Shoe Surgeon. But he built it from scratch and duplicated the entire silhouette and only changed the swoosh, that’s a copy + fake, IMO.
If you have a shoe that’s meant to be a Jordan 1 Chicago and the intention is to fool others, then that’s a fake.
I’m down with customs.....take a Jordan or base AF1 and create something in it. Once you BUY a Nike shoe, you can legally do what you want with it, it’s yours and Nike already made their $$.
I agree Elliot, it’s a fine line, but I don’t think your pair was meant to fool anyone, it’s their brand and if you think it looks to close to a true Jordan1 silhouette, then that’s wrong. I just don’t think your pair was trying to fool anyone, they created a design and IMO, the base is different enough. Lotas pushed it, that’s the line I draw in the sand. Great content man ✊🏽

My opinion is more than 75% of a shoe you buy should be determined where it's from(made) which you haven't mentioned, which tells me you kno nothing about footwear, but just a hypebeast. Them amiri's are made in china and he made a Killin on those who bought them at 650+ cause he only paid maybe $20 to be made. Ciao
