Very neat video. I've toured DTE St Clair. They don't have rail cars of trains that I could see. 1000 foot lake freighters load the hoppers. Thanks for sharing.
thats some incredible footage, i can’t imagine how much weight that machine weighs once tipping over the loaded hoppers

Thanks for posting this. I worked at MPP from 2000 to 2012. I hated working coal handling. Especially having to yank a trunnion wheel in the middle of February from the dumper. I miss this place, but I don't miss black goobers in my nose all week. Rumor is the first 2 units are set to be decommissioned next year, then by 2035, totally silent. It's really sad to see because Monroe is a beast and they spent a ton on modern pollution controls with SCR (scrubber) units added to each unit, then the FGD system (Flue Gas Desulphurization) shortly after. Goodby old girl and thanks for the memories.
Thanks for uploading! All of the U boats and engine house were gone when I worked there. So cool to see how it was.

This is peak Railroad Media Archive footage. Holy shit.
One of my all time favorites on this great channel. Cheers !
I didn't know DTE still had Uboats that late in time
Conrail SD60I, looking all smug like it wouldn’t become a museum piece.
One of those U30C's still exists today.
At 9:02 I thought "Oh, No, NO! That switch is against you!" Then I realized it was a spring switch. At least I hope it was!
Yah! Me too!! I thought that switch was going to create a short in the layout!!!
