I’m sitting here bawling at “it wasn’t a good mall, but it was our mall.” Great video, thank you for documenting this. 💕 Edit a year later: I revisit this a year or so later, Meijer is totally up and running, and I miss our mall.
I seen it built, and now I have seen it torn down 😪 I was a teenager when it first opened, we would hang out at the mall all the time ..movies and the arcade .. it will be missed !!!
🥲 sad to see it go, this was my favorite place to go of all time. Hopefully the plaza will be just as good. You can see pictures of it Google maps still. Brings back the nostalgia.
sad knowing they couldn't revive it to a new improved mall.everyone is turning to major grocery stores. it's insane ! grew up in alliance and hanging out there. along with plenty of the trick or treat or Christmas specials. thanks for sharing bud.
Me and my kids went every other weekend, especially in the winter! We played at the arcade and watch movies. And during bad storms we would walk around inside if we were out in about so kids were not scared!!! I am sad to see it go so are my girls!!!
Awesome video! I used to visit this mall about 12 years ago. Yes, the parking lot was one of the worst ever! So many of these smaller towns in between the major cities in Ohio have been beaten and kicked down hard. Sad. Thanks for posting and saving the history.
Man I remember visiting and staying at the comfort inn that was connected to the mall, even in 2012 the mall was pretty empty. My dad left Alliance in 1986 after graduating, I love to visit despite how rundown areas are. Im glad to see the skatepark got some renovations.
I graduated in 1983 and worked at the Kmart there for the summer before college , don't miss it, never really spent any time there and after 1987 my family left Alliance too . pictured is my dog Woof~! Alliance use to be nice
Dated a woman named Morgan Douglas who lived in that city, we stayed at the hotel few times! Wasn't the nicest pretty run down to be honest and at the time the mall was already being torn down for the new Meijers. Well not dating her anymore, but did come out that way again with my family just to check out the new Meijers and honestly Meijers are great stores even better than Walmarts, and Giant Eagles combined! Meijer has a little bit of everything 😊
My beautiful fiancé lives in Alliance. We've been to this mall many times since 2015. Terrible to see iconic statues of a bygone era reduced to rubble.
Very sad to see the mall Go. I grew up in and around alliance and spent alot of time there in my early years. I think i'm going to miss the movie theater the most since now there is no place to go unless you want to drive to canton and that isn't happening at least for me . I can not remember the last time I actually stopped by the Mall to watch a movie as everything is either streaming now or downloadable . The fact they they think alliance needs another Grocery store is Mind Blowing as Alliance is Essentially Dead Walmart Killed off all the mom and pop stores in this Town. I can not remember the exact time when I last visited the mall all I do remember is nearly the only thing that was left was the sporting good store. I do remember that the Book store was closed up I think I might have went there looking for xmas gifts but I settled on using amazon instead. After seeing the state of the parking lot I had vowed Not to return and realized this was the Final nail in the coffin for alliance Kinda the same situation for Walmart as they had just redone a massive remodel and Literally turned the entire store upside down . Very sad this leaves Staples and Lowes as being the only reason to make the 20+ Min Drive to this Rundown Town aka anything on the other side of Union or down towards the hospital I can say this because I worked at both the Arby's and Wallmart of this town. I feel like someone just Killed My childhood PUPPY my heart Hurts even typing this right now for a more detailed look at the Destruction you can check out this video This isn't my work just a video I found while searching for carnation mall Demolition ruclips.net/video/LjanvLz_yUc/видео.html
Last movie I saw was the Uncharted movie last year. GOnna miss this mall. It's where I used to play in Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments at CJ's card shop which was long before Taz's gaming's time.
I'm so PISSED that we don't have the movie theater in town anymore! Like me and Nick have gone there every Friday since we started dating (since graduation), and now we're lucky if we go to a movie once a month. I haven't felt right since it closed, it was like my 2nd home. (This is Shnaiah Thomas btw).
Seems like the majority of dead mall videos come from the rust belt and the mid Atlantic. I would like to see more mall videos, both healthy and dying/dead from other regions of the country like the south. The rust belt in and of itself is a depressing area anyway and I’ve visited there but I’m not from the rust belt and it’s more difficult to relate. For instance, the south, particularly Florida, had a different culture in the 80s than say places like the northeast or rust belt. Not quite as cheesy.

wow, this brings back so many memories, I used to go to this mall every week when I was a kid.

Yeah, it’s really heartwarming to see that something still has footage of the mall
Me waiting for a meme comment about this place being in. Ohio:

Now a Meijer, the only place that still lives is Dunhams
You’ll change your mind about Meijer when you go in there. It’s great

Good work!
Sad to see the era end.
I saw so many classic movies there in the summers growing up like Innerspace and Distinguished Gentleman. Good times

Yeah alliance needs to be developed so much
I wish they would put a home depot in its place to compete with Lowes.
I miss having a movie theater in town. The theater was very outdated, not great, but it was local. Now you have to drive half an hour to canton.
Man I remember visiting and staying at the comfort inn that was connected to the mall, even in 2012 the mall was pretty empty. My dad left Alliance in 1986 after graduating, I love to visit despite how rundown areas are. Im glad to see the skatepark got some renovations.
Yeah, I remember the furniture store and the arcade AND THE JC PENNY shutting down when I was 8.

Trick or treating was the best here and the last time I went to the movies here was 2019

It was definitely the spot when i was a kid and a teenager ! Had my name spray painted on a wall outside of the mall lol
Wonderful Drone shots! I tried with my DJI Mini but I am not great at getting good shots 😂
I'll sell you my Phantom 4 LOL

The end of an era :'(

I will never understand why Ohio has so many people
2:07 that's the goofiest face I have ever seen.
Grew up there❤
How did you get in? This mall closed in August
The mall closed in October, but I filmed (parts of) this in September.
potholes are terrible lol ive gotten so many flat tires
Hey what’s up you guys
Update.. is it closed inside totally?
It’s been torn down except for Dunham’s. They’re currently building a Meijer’s in it’s place.
