That's what's hurting the R1 right now and part of the reason he left yamaha, id assume. The R1 just doesn't have as much top end as the other brands. It can corner and brake with the best of them it just can't run the straights after the initial corner exit.

With some of the riders skill coming close, some tracks like these are quite heavily dependant on the setup beforehand mainly around the sprocket ratios.
