My 2nd and 3rd dry session ever with the ZX10R in Spa Francorchamps. What a fun track with a 1000 cc bike! It's super fast and has a great layout. It will take some time to get confident on this fast track. At the beginning of the session, my dashboard broke. I still road the session, but decided to cancel the rest, because riding without seeing temperature or warnings is dumb. I must visit this track again next year :D Cheers!
This track to me will always be Schumacher's track. Loved watching him race on here with the Ferrari's. Watching bikes on Spa. Ohhhh what a dream that is. Thank you for this. Better than Schumi's side cam.
@@maximedenoel5750 Supposedly dorna have plans to include Spa in the calendar, but will not be soon, or at least will be more sooner than we expected because certain rounds like argentina was cancelled, so there some posibilities in the near future, the track have action in the EWC and is very cool and fun to watch.
thought that was the sound of man's balls of steel grinding against the asphalt but seriously, these dudes are literally fearless. insane. unfathomable. crazy
Well, lacking to more wide slick tyres and huge front and rear wings…..plus it isn’t a MotoGP bike is it. Probably 6 seconds slower than MotoGP would be if they went back to Spa one day.
My friend raced Expert 600 he won 5 Nationals and 8 regionals in one year. I was a street rider only, they always tried to get me on a track but I never had the balls to. My friend won several open bike races on his 600 beating many 1000cc bikes mostly on a 50/50 track.I respect anyone that takes it to the track Novice-Expert. I've seen too many fatalities of people riding beyond their capabilities and getting destroyed by cars or guardrails.
amazing! the way you pickup throttle mid corner is fascinating that's the part that scares me the most riding on track haha I'm always afraid of going too hard and high siding
With good slick tires, beeing loose on the bike and some experience, you will feel the limit of grip before highsiding. Most of the time :D TC will help you find that limit
Thanks for the assist / intel. At 6:33 the outer curb gets swapped for metal water drains. You won't be the first or last to attempt an overtake here. I know I would have tried it. Just glad I could find out via your video instead.
Don't you just love the feeling of having fresh pancakes with nutella, TV turned on to watch this video in fullscreen and just sit back and enjoy the speed of the bike and the sound of it. After carefully watching this video i have forgotten what i was eating in the first place. What an amazing talented rider, and what a heck of an amazing bike. You are truly living my dream, Stay safe and keep up with this amazing content dude! Much love from Serbia! :)
I used to ride a supersport over 10 years ago. Since then I got into iRacing, and while it's a blast in GT3 cars in the sim, I can't imagine the thrill of hot-lapping this track on a ZX10 irl!! This looks absolutely nutty!
I have no idea why this was in my recommended feed, I have never watched any motorcycle racing videos in the past and have never had an interest. I'm glad I clicked though, that was cool as hell to watch! Very exciting pacing and as someone who has never really watched a motorcycle race, you don't really realize how physical it must be to throw around your weight like that for a full race.
Very cool, thanks! Imagine Rea doing aggressive cornering, Toprak forcing late breaking or Bautista sliding two wheels in this Spa circuit! I would not be "disappointed " if there was a round of WSBK, WSSP and WSSP300 here! 👏
Been there myself a number of times.. just regular Ducati Trackdays.. it's a dream to ride on.. hitting the Raidillon is like climbing a frikk'n wall...:).. like.. you're coming downhill.. look ahead and see a wall.. you then ride up that wall.. and if you don't see anymore wall in front of you, Turn Left! I especially love Pouhon, as it is a double lefthander.. the first is still downhill, the second is flat.. that's when you crack the throttle...and overtake people going to Fagnes...
That must have been such an awesome experience. I'd love to get on track at Spa someday, although I do prefer 4 wheels to 2, it's just such a great track.
Ab jetzt Winterpause oder is noch was geplant ?
@@KarrasBastomi tbf its the same problem in f1, doing it near walls or no runoff is just much more unsafe than with a runoff area... (happens in drag racing too)
This is basically exactly like my commute to work every day. And to the convenience store. And to my gf house. Hanging off the 400ninja through the intersections is straight adrenaline. Exactly the same. 😅
Its interesting to see that you have a "good side" hahaha, you seem to be able to lean much more to the right, than the left, meaning you can go faster in right turns, than left ones. never thought about that, but this makes so much sense, cuz we have dominant sides in our bodies.
yes I prefer right. It's easier to control the throttle when it's in front of your chest, than far away on the right. Also you ride way more right turns on most of the tracks than left turns. I also take my head more out of lean in left turns than right turns somehow :D
@@Matutelli it's a common bike problem that hasn't been thoroughly rectified to my knowledge. Basically left lean, you are more likely to try to hold onto the "fall" by pulling with your right hand. See what is happening? -> if you yank your right hand, the bike will flip out from under you, if you yank the throttle. If you have a strong TC/stability control you can prevent this to good effect, but left handers are just inherently more dangerous with a lot of bike designs
It’s a wonder that nobody has ever tried a foot throttle/ pedal To see if it would work better. I know it sounds weird but we all use it for everything else. Boots being the hardest thing might be a problem. But maybe modern technology. ???👍
How is your thought process during these sessions? are you absolutely concentrated? does your mind wander around other things? or is only concentrated on the ongoing laps? does any intrusive thoughts pop up?
Good question but hard to answer! Sometimes I am 100 % in flow just working on the bike and just in the situation right now. Sometimes I think about my riding, when I noticed I did something wrong/not like I wanted. But I never shut off when I interpret something as relative more dangerous. Like the overtake I did not in the video. Or on some parts of the track where I don't want to hit the limit, I prefere riding under my abilities.
@@Murtanio Thank you for your answer, it's a great insight at how the mind of a sportsman behaves at such speeds and deals with the different situations. At 6:33 there was a quite risky situation with those painted metal grids for filtering the rain.
Thanks! :) I need a working I2M dashboard for that. You can see in the POV that it was broken there. So no data. At the end of the video you see it working and also data :)

I hope you can, it’s an incredible track.

Great riding and incredible quality footage. The helmet camera view is superb!
as an f1 fan, I was wondering why he wasn't taking the eau rouge flat out😅
I expected Eau Rouge/Radillion to be a bit slower, but was surprised at how much braking there was for Blanchimont
He'd be flying over the forest if he took it flat 🤣
