I had a lot of fun recording this song. I find the key to playing with a laid back song like this is to relax, relax, relax. It's really easy to get carried away and push ahead, which I tried not to do:)

hey mike, great cover! would you give me advice on 1. where is the best place to put one mic to get the sound of a whole kit, and 2. did you just use the normal track for this?
tgGaming03 Thanks for checking out my video! I've gotten the best room mic sounds from going about 10 feet in front of the kit with a mic at about chest level. If you can, have someone play your drums and then you can walk around with the mic and a pair of headphones until you find the right balance of everything. And yes my backing track is the whole original song. :)

Thanks seelanne! It's actually the Tony Williams triplet thing. Triplets with a flam on every third triplet.

Hey Eddy! It's a half-time shuffle groove with the hats playing swung 16th notes. Check out Jeff Porcaro's drumming on the song "Rosanna" by Toto. It's a different groove but the same fundamental half time shuffle idea. Hope that helps!

GoyoLake please don't say him shit.Every drummer has his own way of interpretation of song.Every drummer plays with a diffferent feel.If you like a drummer , follow him , if you don't , then atleast you can respect his playing style.I really admire cooperdrummer.But i respect this guy too.
