The grey 101 hardware synth...I took one out of the trash near my apt. not too far from Tokyo Japan in 1995...It worked pretty well too. The great legacy remains!
The Sh101 was one of the synths i used to take on stage with me in the 90s :-) It ended getting stolen from my Garage in the early 2000s :-( Love this plugin great video Dom 🙂
I never had any interest in an SH-101, I just use this plugin because it's so damn analog (and great sounding) 💀. Softube literally has the most analog synths, it's insane. I own all three now. 72, 82, 84.
Dr. Doug here, Love it my G!!! Dom you're one of the GOATS!!! In this video you literally just gave us the secret sauce and main ingredient to the "Stranger Things" theme. The Arpeggiator HAAAAA so dope!!!
ruclips.net/video/lIrBQim8dzk/видео.html Watch this video. The dudes that produce the music for stranger things actually say it wasn't an arpeggiator. This synth sounds nice tho
Retro legendary synth. I used to teach synthesis to A Level music tech pupils using the SH101. We had plastic white transparencies that fit snuggly over the top - I think for writing alternative settings on etc?....It was such a powerful little synth of it's day and certainly has a place in my heart and educational history. Fab piece of kit - quite easy to logically get your head around as well. Love it!
If your new to synthesis, or an overwhelmed preset surfer, this is likely an excellent synth to start really playing with because of the simplicity. Also, it sounds GREAT 😁
Oh man!, this brings a tear to my eye 😢!. The keyboard player in my first band(circa 85) had a blue one..... and I still have it! 😊🙏. It's not quite playable anymore, as it won't stay in tune 😕, but I'll never get rid of it💙. This sounds just like i remember it. I assume the sequencer has a memory of more than 250 notes ?? 😏🤣. It really can nail that minimoog chorused lead tone. I may have to get this, just to relive that period, and because it sounds F'n great! 😉👍
I have an original SH-1, SH-2, System 100 (101 synth). The Behringer MS1 is extremely good, I compared side by side with the original and it sounds identical. The build quality is excellent, maybe better than the original. The FM options makes it a lot more flexible. This plugin is really good, but nothing sounds like analogue.
Wow !! Amazing man ! I do have the clone (Behringer).. and I love it.. I also have the sh-01 boutique.. but this plugin.. wow man !! I got to have this one too 😃😃😃
I'm amazed that no one is talking about the TAL baseline 101... it's been out a while & sounds near as damn it the same. but everyone is all over the Model82.. Did they just give this out fro free or something.. ?
Hey bruh!!! Great Channel!! I love you're enthusiasm and more importantly, your simplistic breakdowns during explanations.. Keep up the good work!!! #muchlove!! Do you like the Softube console 1 better than the icon Qcon pro????
Hi, on the Marc Jovani video, DO THESE 5 THINGS and start composing like top Hollywood composers using orchestral sample libraries Premiered May 2, 2022 Between 6:45 in and 7:15 Marc plays in the expression and modulation on a long note that has already been recorded in. On a second pass he plays in the breathe control (vibrato). I have searched and searched how to do this in Cubase. I am a recent convert from Logic. I know how to do it in Logic using the latch function. Can someone point me in the right direction. I can record the mod an exp as I go, it this being able to go back and edit or add it after a note or set of notes have been played. Even if you can point me to page in the manual that would be great. I am on Mac, Monterey, latest version and Cubase 12. I have seen Guy do this as well so hoping this makes sense. I have searched all over and even in the Cubase manual. I suspect I am asking the question using the wrong terminology in web browsers, thus why I am coming up empty. I am not talking about writing the automation in with the pen tool either. This would writing it in using my Monogram fader controller set to CC11 and CC1.
Hi, please can you give me advice about my problem . I have 2700x and i think about to upgrade on some another ryzen . I work only in Cubase 11 and please tell me is there any big upgrade benefit over 2700x. Cpu i looking is - 3700x - 5600x Thx

why dont you use the real one or one of the clones. I was disapointed that you chose a softsynth . Not cause software isnt nice but it seemed your title was a bit misleading
The synth sounds nice but... The oscillators are far from the original. The wave shapes are very different. The original shapes make a much brighter sound than this emulation.

Agreed, they totally sold me with the Model 72. Never heard a VST Moog sound so raw before, totally brings back the feeling of the real thing.
I love your enthusiasm for synths! you're like a kid in a sweet shop! Keep up the great work!!!! 🤟🏻
Can't help myself! The music shop was my toy store when I was a kid :)

Sounds great they nailed the filter res sweep
Simon Posford, king of the SH101, would be proud

great video! (and congrats for the 70k ;) )
Thank you my friend!
Damn dude. This is superb
That thing sounds dope!
I just want Softube to do all the synths now... Jupiter 6, Jupiter 8, OB-X, OB-8, CS-80, whatever they do next I'll buy!
Great job Dom!! Going to go pick this baby up today
Have fun man! Grab the discount code too ;)
IMO TAL Bassline 101 also worth a look. TAL sounds great and has a clean, well designed interface.
It’s a good plugin indeed. I tried them side by side and the difference in sound is huge imho, the Softube sounding more thick and alive.
@@Rgdonaire_07 Is Softtube more CPU intensive? If not then TAL has a strong competitor!
My opinion: Tal was good for it's time (I used them for years). But softube has just surpassed them. Softube sounds so analog, it's just crazy.

Request to explain in details... gain staging snare drum or percussion sounds using vu meters.... Everytime it sucks after gain staging
I will never purchase another arturia emulation. I’ll just wait for Softube.

We want a new studio tour !!!!!!
Coming very soon, the studio is officially finished!
Now open Softube Modular and you can build a four voice Sh-101 mixed with Intellijel modules.

Sounds very nice.
But i also like very much D16 group LUSH-101 and i think it is more versatile than model 82

What controls are those? The ones mapped to cubase quick control?
Exactly!
@@DomSigalas i mean what brand are them?
I was wondering the same thing. What device do you use for quick controls ?
@@chrisamexas4226 @diego it's called Monogram CC- I've done two videos about it and how to use it with Quick Controls :)
Comparable to NI Super 8 or D16 Group Lush-101? 🤔
How does it compare to the TAL?
👍👌👍👌

Dom, could you do a video about whether to upgrade to Windows 11 for audio?
I wouldn’t for now. Sticking with Windows 10 for as long as possible ;)

I don't have UAD so I don't have access to it :(
