I've been skating 50 years...& Love it,,,.
But some of these kids today are so rude, crazy and dangerous at the rink, no respect,, they take all the enjoyment out of it.... But my daughter called and found out that our local skating rink had an adult-only night.... And man alive it's awesome,, my advice to you is find an adult night place to go to, then you will enjoy it. God bless you honey... and on top of that we can speed skate all we want....

This younger generation is missing out! Thank goodness at least my 10 yrs old daughter loves it like me! I started roller blading when I was like 6, I just learned how to rollerskake in April of last year, So I randomly tried out for roller Derby.. I almost had a heart attack when I made the team!

I'm 47 years old and never learned to skate properly..this is one of my bucket list items. Everytime I got to go as a kid I mainly watched cause I was scared to get laughed at I'm at an age where I'm like screw it. Lol

Absolutely! If enough people ask and they can monetize it, you'll get it! Go on their fb page, etc. It will most likely be on a Sunday or a Thursday night, that's when they are in Florida. On school nights. Let them know you guys are interested in buying food, beer, wine...they'll make a grown folks night for you.
It's hard to shufle, dance, etc with kids speed skating. Even with refs and supervision.

Same here.... Some of these kids today,,,,, they just have no respect at all.... I've skated 50 years and absolutely love it,,, but I quit going because the kids get so out of hand,,, it's takes all the fun and absolute enjoyment out of it,

We had a rink called ROLLER WORLD here in nj from 83-88 then it reopened as WHEELS IN MOTION From 92-?? It’s closed as well. I used to love shuffle skating. Wish they had a local one here now. Even at 39, I’d be there once a week no doubt !!

Lynwood Sports Center has an Old School/ Jam Skate Reunion night once month on Sundays. You'll have to check their website for the exact dates. It's a lot of fun and nothing but Disco, Freestyle, and Hip House. When ever Im back in the Chi I love going. I highly recommend you check it out.

Sure do miss roller skating, late 50's & 60's in San Diego, Ca, was the best! We use to do what was called "REXING", a couples like dance done Backwards w/ lots of turns what a trip it was! Your girl kind of sat on your lap, both of you going backwards !!!

I only just bought it last month so were in the process of changing the format thats been in place. Its been a slow work in progress. The past owner didnt care really have time to maintain it. Its no where near as nice as the rink in this video right now. I intend to change that though.

I grew up skating in Fla skating rink in the 70's 80's at the beginning of shuffle skating & free style skating!! This is so AWESOME to hear this music at a skating rink!! 80's music is the only music that you coyld properly shuffle to!! It had the right tempo.
Put on some Kano,( holly dolly or their other hit, I'm ready). Or BETTER yet, but on some Roll, Skate Bounce!! Now that's the ultimate shuffle song!! God, I miss those days!! Sooo much fun!!
