Thank you for explaining your way of empathizing. My son is autistic and even though he doesn’t tell me, I see how empathetic and emotional he is. When I’m sick, he will lay beside me in bed most of the day and cuddle me. When I’m sad he will do something to make me laugh. When I’m mad/upset he does something to make me laugh. It’s the little ways he shows me that really mean the most. He is my everything. Thank you. Love your channel!
"I sometimes may not understand jokes", well, you made a good joke right before that :) I am a psychology student, your videos are very helpful. Thank you
Aww I think it's different when you make jokes because you know in yourself the context. It's harder to get when others make jokes as it's not always clear 😊
I think you just broke through another barrier in terms of both on camera performance and editing... I remember, back in the day, when you were just a wee youtuber. My, haven't you come on. Awesome work dude!
Aww dude this comment is one of those comments that makes me think "Shit I have come quite along way hasn't I?". I guess I'm abit of a better RUclipsr these days but still got along way to go :D Thank you so much my friend!
Hi there, it's nice to meet you! School is really tough and definitely relate to this as I struggle at school. Just people not getting me or understanding the way I did things. I am sorry that you are going through this but all I can say is that it does get better. The people that you bullying you may be going through things themselves hence why they lash out. In no way do I think that's rights though. But once you are out of school then you don't have to think about those people and do your own thing!
Aww wow thank you so much Sez! Well I don't think one person can change much, it takes alot of people to make any form of difference. Which I hope others will get on board with! :)
That was expressed rather beautifully. Simple, effective & meaningful. Maybe because, you've shared a story that you are living which makes it more impactful and provides a perspective for the world to build empathy. The point about understanding & being less judgmental is something we should practice in general regardless of autism or not. But most importantly in this videos context, you have delivered a beautiful message and just for that honest effort & a will to share your story here on RUclips is commendable. Much love & best wishes. Cheers, Andy. ~ Amyth
Aww wow thank you so much for the comment. Yeah judgements and understanding are something we should all be doing I fully agree with you there. Hopefully with enough advocacy some good can come from it. Fully appreciate you watching the video & be sure to subscribe if you haven't already for more videos 👍 Hope you have a great day!
Hi Andy, fellow northerner here, my 5 year old son's autistic, and funnily enough his name's Andrew! Just wanted to say I really like your video and to keep up the good work with raising awareness and helping others to better understand autism. 👍🙂
Great video as always. Keep it up. Great explanation for this as we know that it is never easy. We just need people to be patient and understand where we are or what we are going through. I feel same in some situations. You done really well with this and l wish you all the best for your channel and your future.
I am like that with change too! It doesn't even have to be a negative change. It can be a neutral or positive change and I'll kind of freak out. From what I have seen online, you have a wonderful personality and I wouldn't change you either. :)
I was diagnosed with autism a few months ago as a 17 year old. The first time i was even aware of what autism was; was when i went to the mental hospital for the first time and some girl asked me "are you on the spectrum". I literally had no idea what she meant so i asked her and she clarified "autism spectrum". I honestly felt so insulted at the time, because i have a very high cognitive ability and was actually a math prodigy when i was younger, and in my head i always thought the reason i didn't interact with people was because I was too "smart" for them, which is of course utter bull, but it was a necessary delusion that got me through school. I am kind of just rambling at this point, so fast forward to the present, where i am still struggling with the idea that i am autistic, but i now realize i can still have a social life.
Wye Aye Andy Man my name Alan from South Wales. When growing up through school, I was in special needs, and during my time in school, to the time I left I was always hiding my special needs. And it was only through a friend through school, who was in the same classes, who shone light on things, that things were brought more to my attention. And in the last year where I work as a cleaner, my co worker brought to my attention, that I may have Aspergers? Whilst watching your videos, and others like yourself has brought to light things until now was, totally at odds with, things like masking, and repetitive routines. I am still yet to receive an official diagnosis, I am 45, and I have been to see the mental health nurse, but at this moment I find them to be quite condesending, but I still plan on following things up, despite this crazy bat shit, that's going on
I can actually relate with this. But I didn’t knew that I had autism till last year. I’ve been growing up knowing that I had or have adhd and add my whole life…
Hi Andy. Good to know there are other ASDs in Indy. I haven’t run into any others. I’ve been thinking it would be nice to put together some meetups to discuss and compare notes. What do you think?
i forgot when i was diagnosed with everything i have autism and ocd and anger all that its rlly hard in school cuz no one plays with me and sometimes i sit alone but i'm going to yr 5 this yr so i might bring fidgets to school to calm down and that what do u think?
Hmm to be fair dude life is tough. However we just get by somehow and can still do stuff. But doing stuff like this to highlight some of the problems is just as important as anything 😊
