For anyone having problems getting the gate to return back down on the bedrock version, on the top piston part the lower pistons need to be on an 8 tick connection ( 2 repeaters clicked 3 times each). and the upper pistons need to be on a 4 tick connection ( 1 repeated clicked 3 times) if you have problems figuring that out a basic redstone tutorial helped me out. Good luck!
Great design, thank you. It needed some tweets to work on mine (bedrock 1.18) Firstly, the bottom mechanic. The second of bottom row needs to be lowered 1 block to be inline with the pistons, not the gravel, otherwise it only raises 1 block high. Also I set the bottom repeaters to 2 not 1 for a smoother raise with no danger of breaking the gravel. Secondly, the top mechanism. It is glitchy and doesn't lower all at once due to lag, and so needs multiple button hits to lower. At 1.52 on the video, he places the white concrete blocks and then the red stone on top. You need to replace the fifth red stone with a repeater instead as shown below - - - - < - The arrow shows which red stone to replace and the direction to face when placing it. Set this repeater to 3 ticks. At 2.05 do the same steps again as above but set the repeater to 2. This now made the mechanism operate beautifully in both direction but without this design, I never could have made it in the first place. Thanks again.

By the way he places it, it's the red stone after the 4 pistons you want to replace as shown below. - - - - < - The arrow is where the repeater needs to be and the direction you should face when placing it. Set the bottom row to 3 ticks and when you do the one above at 2:05 on the video, repeat the same steps but set the repeater to 2 ticks. I hope this clears it up.
Thanks for this tutorial! I tested this out in a creative world for Bedrock. Like a couple other commenters said, in 1.19 you will need to lower the layer of repeaters that power the normal pistons for the gravel down one block. I also had issues with all the upper pistons pushing down all the fences. It might just be my computer, but I just added a repeater for a slight delay to the lower line of the pistons pushing the fences down and it works just fine now. Thanks again! Looking forward to building a castle in survival in one of my worlds.
I did this and it fixed the lower row of pistons firing, but the top row doesn't fire or the first one (closest to the side with the torches) will fire only. Did you put the repeater on the top row or the bottom row of the upper pistons?

I created a more secure system with a hopper where you drop a specific renamed item to open the gate. If it’s a wrong item, there are a dropper who give back the wrong item to the player by sending it through the wall.
Herobrine : 'I know he will place diamond gate too then I will steal it.' so slowly slowly he came and then broke the camera, killed him,and took the diamonds.
Same issue with me, on the second row I replaced the repeaters with just regular red stone which did activate the second row of pistons, but I ran into another issue which was the gravel would break after it went up and came back down, so I gave up
Tried this so many times and every time the top half hasn’t worked. I’ve done everything right and followed every instruction to a T. Spent 2.5 hours trying to figure out how to fix it.
Same situation here. I'm at the part where I'm supposed to do the top part, but when he showed how the pistons should be working, mine is not doing the same at all. There's only a one block gap for me between fence and gravel, but I followed instructions exactly. It's not like this is the most complicated thing in the world. Idk.
It’s because you’re probably in Minecraft 1.17 he made this vid six months ago, the 1.17 update came out about three weeks ago. So he was making it in 1.16 so it won’t work. Somehow I managed to make it work

To anyone having trouble because the gravel is only going up one block due to the top piston not activating, you just have to move the blocks that are supposed to activate it (the second row of blocks with redstone) down a block so it can actually activate it. (Sorry if I didn’t explain it too well, this is my first redstone build so I don’t know how to explain it that well) hope this helped

I even saw herobrine in diamond and wood gate maybe he just got shocked that how can you make this and if I saw that I would,t be able to pass that and thanks for that I could make better house door like it it's pretty cool also
(Im in 1.17.1 btw) For anyone having issues with the bottom part only lifting the fence up by 1 block. What I did was I followed the entire tutorial but on the bottom that lifts the gate up instead of having ya know the 4 pistons and then the 4 pistons on top of each other, what I did was instead of normal pistons I did sticky pistons so 8 sticky pistons and on the first 4 pistons at the very bottom for the 4 repeaters I cranked them all the way back and then the 1 repeater that goes into the block just leave that alone. Now the other 4 pistons above those repeaters should stay at 0 tick and then have ur gravel going 3 blocks high. Now it should lift the fence 2 blocks high. Hope this helped!
this was such a helpfull video and it was the first one to work after hours of serching for tutorials I even look at some for 1.19.51 the version I'm playing on currently and yet this one with one modification to pushing the gate back down this was so useful and I hope other people see this and find it helpful also Plus it's so easy to abtain the items for and you can even make the gate bigger or smaller, and I hope your doing very good right now with your persoanl life, so thanks again for this easy to build castle gate -- I hope this comment finds you well

I found an error I'm not sure how yours is working, but the second set of repeaters should be placed one block down. The second set of pistons had no reaction when activated if I place it like you did.
Could you please make a tutorial for a tunnel entrance hidden behind a screen of falling water using rows of dispensers? I still have trouble with connecting all the dispensers. I had the same problem and then I then read this comment, put in the repeater and it fixed the problem.
I did this and it fixed the lower row of pistons firing, but the top row doesn't fire or the first one (closest to the side with the torches) will fire only. Did you put the repeater on the top row or the bottom row of the upper pistons?

(Im in 1.17.1 btw) For anyone having issues with the bottom part only lifting the fence up by 1 block. What I did was I followed the entire tutorial but on the bottom that lifts the gate up instead of having ya know the 4 pistons and then the 4 pistons on top of each other, what I did was instead of normal pistons I did sticky pistons so 8 sticky pistons and on the first 4 pistons at the very bottom for the 4 repeaters I cranked them all the way back and then the 1 repeater that goes into the block just leave that alone. Now the other 4 pistons above those repeaters should stay at 0 tick and then have ur gravel going 3 blocks high. Now it should lift the fence 2 blocks high. Hope this helped!

this was such a helpfull video and it was the first one to work after hours of serching for tutorials I even look at some for 1.19.51 the version I'm playing on currently and yet this one with one modification to pushing the gate back down this was so useful and I hope other people see this and find it helpful also
Plus it's so easy to abtain the items for and you can even make the gate bigger or smaller, and I hope your doing very good right now with your persoanl life, so thanks again for this easy to build castle gate

I found an error I'm not sure how yours is working, but the second set of repeaters should be placed one block down. The second set of pistons had no reaction when activated if I place it like you did.
