Just received my Incredibow and WOW! I bought the Featherweight in Carbon Fiber and it's immediately easier for me to control my tone with. Thanks I really appreciate your review and it was the deciding factor.

I certainly hope you find the incredibow gives you a useful alternative to a regular bow.

I have a 15 inch Glasser viola that I tune to GDAE and was thinking about getting an Incredibow. I want a bomb proof set up for the hot humid summer months and outdoor playing. Thanks for describing it and testing it.

I wondered which weight option you have for your incredibow?
I read there is a high tension option for less bounce for the 55grms ones.

Do you have to rosin it the same as a horsehair bow?

Hi Richard, no it doesn't seem to require as much rosin, I was recommended by the supplier to use Jade rosin on it, but not sure it makes much different tbh. I frequently just pick it up, play with it and don't bother to rosin it each time. I hope that answers your question and thank you for commenting.

hehe what a silly name for a bow!! lol. Bout time we saw some new designs for Bows... There is so much scope for improvement on the old classical options along with significant improvements in the ease of changing hair which for a trad. bow is darn near impossible to do yourself.

The incredibow is built to withstand a lot of bashing about, so it's very handy on a dark poorly lit stage.

I just ordered one for my viola. The value I'm anticipating is that it's fully synthetic, so it's impervious to the horrendous humidity and moisture of summer weekend camping events, playing around a bonfire with friends in the evening, maybe after it's rained and everything is still a bit wet about the place. My traditional bow seems to always go limp and even cranked all the way tight, is still not tight enough to play. This should fix that.

I think you will find the bow to be extremely tough and hardy, although not quite as responsive as a regular bow, but certainly well able to stand up to some tough treatment. I use mine when I play in marquees.
