RIP Anita Mui. She was an incredible talent. RIP Marc Akerstream (Tony). He played his role in this movie so well. I was so upset when I found out that these two actors from this movie had passed away. I watched this movie almost every day as a kid. It's my childhood
Rumble in the Bronx. Still can't believe that was 25 years ago. Always love Jackie when he did movies with the old school Hong Kong leading ladies Anita Mui, Michelle Yao, Rosamund Kwan, Maggie Cheung and others.
I kinda wish New Line Cinema left this scene in because it shows the moral dilemma that Nancy faces after she realizes who Keung is to her brother. Plus, it's one of the most beautiful shots of Francoise Yip in the whole movie!
I just checked a Mirimax version and it does seem to be cut. It actually makes so little sense for it to be cut. You go from him recovering in bed from his wounds from the bottles in the alley, to him walking on the street, to being immediately pursued by the gang. It makes way more sense with this scene in between because he's got the same bandage on his neck and this scene leads into that scene, and gives further context to why they're right on him. Where in the edited version it makes like no sense because they just wrecked him the night before and would have no reason to be on the hunt for him.
I have this on DVD and Bluray, neither one has any real special features. What do you get for getting the movie on Blu-Ray? A theatrical trailer. Cheap, lazy company.

WHY DID THEY CUT THIS!?? One of my favorite movies of all time. This scene was important too since he saw the young girlfriend of the gangster again!
