This reminds me of the movie The Adventures of Tintin. They keep the shape of the character's faces but they made it realistic like having strands of hair and skin pores.

The scout's a cartoony version of Jerma, unsurprised, on the other hand, dayum, the Demoman looks like a real person, I wouldn't be surprised to see this exact face in the bus or train.
The Medic looks more like Jerma than the Scout. I think they did it wrong, in normal TF2, it's obviously the scout but in this they changed it too much and now it doesn't look like Jerma.

These models are really good looking. Fantastic job. I think some of the "weirdness" comes from the fact that we are used to see them with accessories and clothes. Soldier's eyes are almost always covered by his helmet. Demoman has an eye patch. Spy is presentable without his mask, but then he looks like a generic refined guy, however when he has his ski mask, it's unmistakably Spy. Heavy is the one that's most often seen head naked. Medic has his round glasses. Sniper has tinted glasses, and his default hat is forever associated with his character.
Surprisingly, I feel like they don't look THAT cursed, it's pretty cool in my opinion. Edit: Also, I think I have the most likes in this comment section, pretty neato. (I think.) Thanks!
I can imagine this is how they would look like in Source 2. Now I want to see SFM animations with THESE models. Each one look amazing! Can't believe this has been out for more than a year and I had no idea of it.

There is something so off about Sniper that I can't pinpoint but Heavy is literally 100% accurate. Like that's a realistic Heavy that manages to not look uncanny as hell.

Tbh I think Emesis could have done great in some film festivals if it didn't rely so much on knowing TF2. Really if you took all the TF2 lore out of it and swapped in something original, the film wouldn't have been any different and could have stood on its own two legs and anyone could've enjoyed it. But then unfortunately it might not have had as much attention as it got.

It would've been way different if it had new characters, you'd have to establish your own world where TF2 aleardy had its world established.

@@Jofoyo Yeah, it's fine. It's more noticeable through the animations, but otherwise the model was fine. There's also the fact that you used stock animations to test the models, so the collisions in the preview were highly visible due to the animations not compensating for the big cartoonish buck tooth face. So it's really not a problem you had control over.
It's strange we haven't seen more things like this. Not to say it's easy but it seems like a pretty straightforward process as long as you know what you're doing.
That sounds unlikely as that requires knowledge in 3D modelling, which I'm not sure this creator possesses. Metahuman is easy enough to use if you want to create a realistic HUMAN character.
the creator is a 3d artist so yes they’re very much capable. it’s just substantially more labour as mvm robots require actual modelling + uv and texture work + rigging

Yeah I noticed. There's nothing you can do to fix it inside of MHC afaik, has to be exported and sculpted externally.
