    Pleased to see my surname over one of the shops! No relations here to my knowledge. Some before and after shots would have been interesting but maybe so many changes here, that might be difficult.

    Does anyone remember a pub/functions hall called the Mais y Rhiew (think that's the spelling)? I understand it was torn down, but I'm looking for pictures because a friend of mine & husband used to own/run it. They sold it and left Wales in the early 1990s I believe, but she told me how beautiful it was. Just curious... I'm sure they had their share of regulars back then.

      Thanks for your input. The friend I speak of has passed along time ago, 2008, she was American too, met a Brit here, married him, lived in UK for over 9 years. Sold the pub, moved to Florida. Lost pictures in house fire. I had seen a couple of pics before they were lost, a beautiful place! Wanted to show someone I know, but found in search that it was razed and couldn't find pics. I love UK. Two extended trips there. Last time 2005, drove cross country from London to Little Haven, Wales & stayed a week there. Beautiful countries and I have a calling to that place. If I had money, I'd make UK my 2nd home. Don't think I'll be making a other trip... But memories are forever! And as in the USA, the politics are destroying cultures... So sad. Have a wonderful day, thanks for latest info.. I'll look into it.

    0:35 and 0:41 - where are these?

    • @bweebar
      @bweebar 3 года назад +1

      0:35 is Llantarnam Abbey
      0:41 is the South Wales Electricity Board/SWALEC office building after refurbishment/modernisation in the '90s. Demolished circa 2000, currently it is the Asda car park.
