Ford be like:
I didn't choose the President life.
The President life chose me.
*Play thug life music*
really underrated guy. hard worker, respected by both parties, inherited probably the worst circumstances he possibly could and still held it all together. had a reputation as being a bit punchy but actually very, very astute. Surprisingly liberal as well. And known for being very honest and forthright. A lot of people well after the fact have agreed he probably did the right thing in pardoning nixon and avoiding a very divisive and emotionally charged trial. His own view of it was that in pardoning someone it implies they were guilty of the crime. Personally think Nixon should have been punished but sometimes you have to let things go to move on with your life...
Yeah I agree, I think Gerald ford had great views. The problem with the pardoning Nixon issue isn't spescifically that he shouldn't have, but the pardoning made Ford look like one of Nixons' cronies.
I'm about as Liberal as you can get, and I really admire Gerald Ford/Betty Ford a lot. Very decent people.
"A government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have" Gerald Ford
R.I.P., Gerald Ford.
You could have made better Cars though.
I mean, really.
BlankFacedUser lmao
Lol gold
🤔??? 😯😂🤣
Bruh Grand Rapids is on the other side of the state cut him some slack
LBJ was the 37th Vice President, Ford was the *40th* Vice President.
That is wrong , LBJ was 36th , Ford was 38th
@@arkhamtony4469 we're talking about the **vice** president, not the president.
@@currypenguin Oh , I retract what I said
He was also a model in his college years even appearing on the cover of Cosmopolitan.
I don't know anything about him except he was on Simpsons
And that he likes football, nachos and beer. And just being a really nice guy :)
good video but he was born on 14 July 1913 not 1915.
Actually, Ford was the 40th Vice President
The 37th was LBJ under Kennedy, 38th was Hubert Humphrey under LBJ, and 39th was Agnew under Nixon.
Eagle Scout too
Greg Rybq idk why he lost to Carte
Mike Ingersoll honestly it was because Gerald Ford pardoned former President Richard Nixon. The American people wanted to get Watergate behind them
A brilliant guy
trish johnson he shoulda beaten jimmy carter
Very Interesting
Wow people are actually watching this willingly
Wrong. John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, and Chester A. Arthur were also not elected President either.
I think the video means he on the ticket to be President or VP to be elected by the people of the whole US. While those VP's who became president were elected because they were on the same ticket as the president that died for them to be president.
Ford was the only not be elected for both vp and President
I know but that wasn't said
Ford was the 40th, VP, not the 37th .
I have the same name as him, also he’s one of my favorite presidents in a way I hope one day to be a President of the US since I’ll be qualified, but if God willing I can be elected President.
President Ford you remind me of the Duke of Edinburgh handsome a sportsman and teutonic.i don't remember much about your presidential term because I was born in 1970 and was so young but I plant to read about you and your wife's effort to advocate and aid alcoholics and face her own challenges in a way that could and did influence people and families in a positive manner .thank you for serving the United States in such troubled and uncertain times .I survived and so have many others thank you. sincerely Lara v. Grenfell.
RIP MR FORD
Actually he is not America’s only unelected president. Wikipedia says that he was the 40th vice president and that nine vice presidents succeeded to the presidency
Yes however those vice presidents won later elections whereas Ford didn't.
@@titekubo3836 Yeah but some people were still confused
But he's the only vice president to succeed to the presidency without even being elected vice president. He was appointed by the later-to-be-disgraced criminal Richard Nixon. That's why I put the word "incumbent" in quotes.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRESIDENT FORD!!! :)))
LOL.
If only President Gerald Ford never lost his race.
He wasn't the 37th Vice President; he was the 40th. The 37th Vice President was Lyndon B. Johnson.
Just as handsome as Kennedy 🙂🙂
I was about to say the same thing. He was very good looking.
@@pattimurphyrocks jfk had the irresistible charm to when it came to women 😊
That's strange. I've never heard anyone say Gerry Ford was good-looking but okay. 😂
In opposite to Kennedy, Ford was a loving and FAITHFUL husband.
Gerald Ford Was Born July 14th 1913 Not 1915.
He was the 40th vice-president, not de 37th.
Rest In Peace good sir!
40th vice president and 38th president
He was the 40th Vice President not the 37th Vice President who was LBJ
Hold up. Gerald Ford isn't even his birth name?!?
A great American.
He was the 40th Vice President
Mike Pence, you're next.
You know why.
Roy Long why cuz somebody will shot Trump then try to shot Pence?
Pence was already elected VP. Ford was not elected VP or President.
Apparently, he was not built Ford® tough.
He should’ve got re-elected
We don’t have the same number of Vice Presidents as we do Presidents... he was the 40th Vice President
this video is so full of inaccuracies
Yo why he did only 3 years?
CUP OF WATER He became President half way through Nixon’s second term.
He became president on Aug. 9, 1974 when Nixon resigned. He ran for election in 1976 for was defeated by Jimmy Carter. Had he defeated Carter, he would not have been eligible to run a second time in 1980.
Anyone else think he looks like the pro wrestler Kane?
We also remember him for PARDONING NIXON! Good grief.
Did you say 1915?
Plant should read plan.
July 14 1913
December 26 2006
