Senior citizens sounds weird cause I don't feel like what I thought a 'senior citizen' would feel like. Still got a doobie in the left hand and a good amount of decent acid in the fridge😂

I saw Carlos Montoya perform when he was 78 and was amazed that a man could do that. These gentlemen are in the same rarified air as a master player of his status !
So did I but I don't know his age at the time but probably roughly the same. It was where I went to junior college at El Camino in Torrance, Ca (L.A Co.), yet regretabily I can't remember if it was when I was a Chemistry student there, it might have been before or not very long after? In any case, he was amazing, (I used to try to study Flaminco, etc. myself). So I totally agree! I do however, remember the first time I saw Hot Tuna, the year I graduated from high school, 1977 at the Whisky A-Go Go in Hollywood. Luckily, several additional times + The Airplane 3 times on thier reunion Hollywood Greek, Berkeley Greek, and the free Bill Graham Memorial in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco! Hate to brag but despite some enormous bad luck, when it comes to concerts, I'm an extremely lucky guy! Augy, San Diego
@@rayaugustine6908 Thanks for the lengthy reply ! I used to hail from Humboldt County until 11 yrs ago, when I returned to my native State of Connecticut. Now I consider myself a “ Connectifornian” after 30+ years out there. Hot Tuna even made it up there in the late 80s at what they called the “Electric On The Eel” concert - a beautiful venue in the redwoods known for the famous “Reggae On The River” festival. We used to get a surprising number of top acts up there, being halfway between SF and Eugene or Portland, where they could make a little cash and break up the long trip. Happy music listening , and stay healthy. - Tom
Ditto! I saw Segovia when he was 84 and it was beautiful and his presence and musical ability were still very intact. IT was one of my most memorable concerts.
Fifty years ago tonight my FIRST Grateful Dead show (St Louis). A few months earlier in the same venue saw Jack and Jorma with the Airplane! Such an exciting time in the American music scene.
Similar anniversaries here as well Jim. 10/30-31/70 GD at SUNY SB, and tomorrow 11/23/70, acoustic and electric Hot Tuna. Then the sendoff for Thanksgiving break the following night: Traffic, with Cat Stevens (on his first ever tour) opening. Yes indeed. A tremendously exciting time for American music. Fwiw, I'm seeing another age of it right now with the Infamous Stringdusters, Billy Strings, Hawktail, Rawlings/Welch, et al. The best is yet to come.
The best ( only good thing) about the pandemic is that I am able to enjoy your quarantine concerts most Saturdays. I have been a huge fan since I saw you guys at The Academy of Music in NYC ( early & late shows ) in 1973. It's not only the music , it's as if I get to hang out with my favorite musicians. Great to have Jack return, especially with that state of the art bass! Always looking forward to your next show, you guys are great and it's obvious how much you love playing music. Hall of Famers if there ever was one!
Beautiful evening of music! Nice to have Jorma host the gab and give us a better chance to hear from the guys. Thanks for micing Jack so we could actually hear him talk!!
At 1:31:19 and that general area, what kind of guitar is he playing? If anyone knows, leave a comment. I read that he and Martin collaborated on a custom guitar bearing Jorma's name, not sure if available to the public. This guitar looks like a J-50 but it doesn't sound like one, much more robust. Sounds just like what the specs said online that he wanted the sound of 2 Martin guitars rolled into one with maybe some specialty woods, like the more expensive Rosewood mixed in with maybe some other exotic woods that give this guitar its' rich, great sound.
I was lucky enough to see Jorma in Ridgefield CT last Saturday night and it was 47 degrees according to weather.com. I don’t know how he was able to move his fingers. That’s why I’m just catching up to this show. I keep getting interrupted by Medicare Advantage ads. Does You Tube have Jorma and Jack fans pegged as old???
Is Hit Single #1 a song that can be played on an acoustic guitar? Probably not, or if it was it wouldn't sound any good. I have your DVD - Hot Tuna Electric Celestial Blues Live at The Fillmore in Frisco from your December7,1994 show. Break it out to listen to Ode for Billy Dean, Candy Man, Ice Age, I See The Light, 99 Year Blues,Water Song etc... How about an electric quarantine show??
just sell me a groovy (possibly retro)Hot Tuna T-hirt - Burgers era baby - My gratitude goes back 50 + years (or at least 30 seconds over winterland) It's all relative- luv sent your way always
Who else would pre-record a free show because of a conflict with a paying gig ? You guys are the best
Yes they are!!🎃 tomorrow, buy your candy, or turn out the lights😊🎃😊
just saw JORMA in Ridgefield ... senior citizen early show ... 4 pm today

I was there and Jorma sounded great,.
I was there too. Probably the youngest one there....
My aunt and uncle lived in there back in the early 70’s !! 44 Nutmeg Ridge !! Old times were good times!
@ Neil Friedman when I was much younger did not enjoy acid,I much preferred shrooms or good mesc.Been 40 years since my last trip!

My new favorite place to be on Sat. nite.

Damn! That is NICE! Diana IV!
I have been listening to Hot Tuna since the mid 70's and this has to be the best I have ever heard Jack's bass playing!!!!
It's a new state of the art bass - nothing else like it if you didn't hear Jack talk about the bass.
@@brianht1434 Watched whole show, yes the Diana IV is superb I even watched again, the sound is a whole new league
thank you so much Jorma for your kindness ☮ ciao...Marcello
LOVED Good Shepard tonight!!
Thank you Vanessa, Jack, Jorma, Myron and FPR, for the best tonic of the week. gives us something to look forwards too
The energy level here is off the chart.
Sweet, smooth listening. “Thank you for your support” Hot Tuna.
Thanks for all the music guys! That Bass is my favorite modern one Jack plays. They're at the Top of their Game. Can't wait to get back to FPR!
The bass is state of the art - nothing else like it!
Hot Tuna and David Bromberg last live show I saw Boulder Theater before pandemic.
Thanks to everyone!
A beautiful performance of Water Song at about 9:00 - one of my favorites from these guys.
Where has jelly roll blues been hiding. And might we ever see it again ? Please ??
Beautiful evening of music! Nice to have Jorma host the gab and give us a better chance to hear from the guys. Thanks for micing Jack so we could actually hear him talk!!

That would be so cool if Grace did some recording! I get why she stopped performing live, but I've always wondered why she's avoided the studio.
Thanks for the great music!
nice to see jack, how are you guy's? Been a while
Come on Jorma we need some killing time in a crystal city on that old electric acoustic,
Vanessa - Get the "keep cold" socks for Grace? 😎
It's alive. It's aliiiive!

It's the time of year when you only have weeks to make the change. I see these Medicare ads all over the TV.
I cannot use peppermint. Allergy!
When I found out you had black cherry I was so glad.
Jack-what is or was your favorite bass of all time? Paul Wasserman
Just a guess, but I think it might be the one he is using tonight!
