I was there a few years ago we dug some but honestly we were able to walk around and all together found a 5 gallon bucket mostly full. The solid ones are cool to cut into slices. Cool place
@@RockHunterMark Mark this is how I see it. You have an entire room full of artifacts. You found them all. You are the REAL DEAL. Nice video! Here in Bloomington, IN, geodes are less common in the shale and are found more in the limestone just above it! And not nearly in the quantity there good lord!
The key is to get there right after he opens the geode beds with his track hoe. I was there once after he did that and come away with 8-12 bucketfuls over a 2 day period. It was scorching hot and no one else came on those days. I didn't even have to dig. There's another geode bed before you cross the creek on the right. They are in thick red clay.
Cool video Dood!! I've only went to Stevensons in Hamilton, never left disappointed there!! You NEED to do a video at Haunted Ridge rocks in Cadet Mo. New public pay to dig site. Folks there are top notch. EPIC drusy quartz. You will think you died and went to heaven. EPIC PLACE MARKY!! Rock on!!
New subscriber here ! Just wanted to say hello and that I really enjoyed the Video.! I never knew you could open Geode's like that ! You could randomly find them in the Desert in California ( I use to live there many years ago). I now live in Ohio and mostly "River Lark "...love finding Fossils and Arrowheads, Pottery. Heard about you from Rocks Cousteau. God Bless and happy hunting.!
I was there last fall and I had some with a rusty dark brown color crystals inside with the clear crystals. Do you know what type of crystals are the rusty dark brown color are? Could it be Barerite?

Thanks it is a great place,
Your wrong about the smashed geodes and oblong shapes. I've found great mineralization in some of those. Nice blue barite.
That is definitely worth the price:) Hard work and so much fun...thanks for sharing!!!
It was a lot of fun to find a lot of geodes
The water didn't come from the power washer it's been trapped in there for billions of years.
Definitely a possibility.
this was awesome Mark.
Always happy to hear from you Rocks, your very kind

Can you find thing other than geodes, like quartz or amethyst?
I don’t know, I don’t think so. Geodes is it
I don't know why but this is satisfying.
How late in the season are are they open..we are going right by there at end of november
You will have to call them. Ground can’t be frozen. Have a great time, hope you make it out

Do u have to bring ur own shovels or do they provide shovels and/or hammers 🔨 for you to dig with? And gloves too?
You bring your own tools and gloves
@@RockHunterMark thank you for ur response 😊
How the water got in that geode is a natural formation it's very rare I found geodes with water before when I didn't even wash them with water
It’s always surprising when you get water inside.I just make the mental leap that the water is from the power washing. And it could be
