That was a good time. I'm finally understanding the dynamic between Chris and Jordan now. They are like an old couple that loves each other but bickers all the time. I no longer feel uncomfortable by them arguing and rolling their eyes at each other in the videos, because I just imagine them kissing and making up later. :D
Fun! Loved how you kept dissing on the xc10. Come on Canon give us something in 2016 that we can talk about in a good way instead of being an easy target! Perhaps in next year's version of this count down to the worst you could destroy them as you talk about the bad ones. 😀
I feel bad about the lens, I love its VR but the vignette is scaring. BTW I owned a Tamron A07 before, nice lens but sometimes it can not focus correctly so I sold it.
Had a smile on my face, almost the whole time, watching this. Great job guys. Cable TV certainly has a reason, to be concerned. With offerings like this, my television stays dark. Keep up with the great content. I'll be watching.
Sorry but this was shot really sloppy, the audio was doubled on a lot of Chris his shots and every shot was off axis ... Still love the video but yea, pay attention guys.
Lots of bagging on the XC-10, which is fine until you actually use one. It's light, shoots 8 bit 4:2:2 4k, with firmware updates focuses quickly, has a built in ND, IS, Canon Log and a beautiful picture. After being a fan of these videos for years I am disappointed to see something disparaged just because it doesn't have a power zoom and you don't like the loupe. It's a phenomenal camera I use for deep DOF 4k video that pairs up nicely with the 4k footage from the 1dx II. Also no overheating and no time limit, and can be had used for about $1500 now. Methinks though doth protest too much. It is fantastic for what it is good for - long recording times of 4k, IS and no overheating. It's a small travel cinema camera and should be looked at as such.
Not to mention the colors are better than the Sony Fs5 / A7x series, especially skin tones. I watched it filming your 5dsr review and felt it was underexposed for every scene - C-log likes to be exposed to the right. The XC-15 has XLR inputs now. Sure, I'd like a faster lens and a few things changed, but man this thing is handy for quick shoots. It fills a niche nicely.
Those chairs look extremely uncomfortable. Jordan is right about the viewfinder. Nikon has a shit eyepoint on most of their cameras, you need to shove your eye in there to see the edges or the number readout.
TheCameraStoreTV Woops my mistake! Jordan has it right, Chris is smoking something. I had to upgrade from a d5100 to a d7100 just so it didn't feel like I was looking through a pinhole, and it's still not very good. And what's up with the d610 having better eye relief than the d810?? You pay more money and get a shittier viewfinder? WTF Nikon.
Enjoyed this episode! You guys should keep all episodes as energetic as this one, great production! Long time viewer of your channel, just wanted to tell you folks you do an awesome job. Keep up the great work!
Very nice video as always, guys. The "pain" on Jordan´s face every time he takes a shot never gets old... :D All things considered, definitely not enough alcohol running through your veins, though. Those two bottles you showed us were VERY misleading... ;) Long live TCSTV!
Great show - but I was really worried about Jordan dying of alcohol poisoning. Next year, you guys should try to find a game where he's got *some* chance of winning ;)
Merry Xmas guys! Keep going with your honest opinions, they are truly appreciated and must contribute, surely, to improving the industry. Funny episode too, hope the hangover wasn't too brutal! Cheers
Whew! Thanks god I started in this video 3 drinks down my belly. Otherwise I wouldn't probably understand much :) Nice job. Greets from Europe / Poland / Lodz! Looking forward for next reviews!
As always, one of my favorite videos of the year. The Nikon 24-70 surprised me a bit...I have not used it yet but I was really looking forward to it since only Tamron has thus far thrown stabilization in a 24-70 2.8 and for that alone I was excited.
Great video guys! I'm amazed that this video doesn't have 100k+ views because it sure deserves it! Not only because of the amount of liquor being consumed while doing 'Lens Pong' ;)
The biggest problem of all with the Ricoh GR/GR2 is the dust on the sensor. It is a beyond deplorable that they made a lens/sensor assembly so affected by dust that they didn't address in the Mk. II version. I had one of these, ended up with dust, went back several times. Several others said the same thing and ebay is littered with ones with "refurbishment", which the people selling don't want to specify openly that they've had new lens/sensor assemblies installed.
I agree about the Nikon D 5500, I had a bunch of Nikon SLRs, both full frame and DX, and this is my favorite. Small, powerful, awesome grip and image quality. Just awesome camera!!!
Lomo Petzval the worst lens of 2015? This lens is replica of a Petzval lens introduced in 1840. Yes 1840. 175 years before the production of this video in 2015. The Petzval 85 Art Lens hasn't be made to compete with modern lenses. It has waterhouse aperture. Something very romantic but also usable with apertures plates that deliver different shapes of bokeh like stars, snow flakes, hearts etc. Its focusing focusing knob is so retro and romantic. It is made of brass which is expensive and increases the price but it is also so beautiful and distinctive. Certainly this lens is made purposely with optical issues. It has a character. So the photos are recognizable than other ones.
19:32 working in a camera store as well, this part made me laugh audibly. & if you guys are reading this comment, we're taking care of Mark for you guys here in the US
A hello from Austria .. I love your videos. Many thanks for your honest reviews, which really help us. Your videos are not only professionally made, they are real good entertainment. And your specials .. please more of that ! Have a nice Christmas time, happy new year ! Greetings from Vienna, Gerald.
Great vid guys! I am happy that Pentax didn't make any of the lists! I can now be at peace with my choice for my first DSLR, the reasonably priced, middle of the road K-S2. ;)
Sennheiser AVX is not powered by phantom power. Phantom power loss does turn off the AVX receiver, but it does not actually power the receiver. The receiver is totally dependent on the its internal lithium battery for power.
Hmm, they bash the GR-II for being a Wifi`d warmed over GR and yet rate the D5500 as second best Stills cam despite being a very lightly warmed over D5300 ..
Great job, guys. Chris, don't listen to all the home decor nazis. None of their business and I find it a minimalistic, modern and gorgeous place! Jordan, you rolling your eyes to Chris's comments/sarcasm always make me happy lol
Ordered my XC-10 yesterday. Looking forward to using it as a B-cam to my 1Dc on a Ronin-M. Reading comments below from names I recognize, they have totally lost almost all credibility in my eyes. Same with the producers of this video. With: 4k (UHD) 322Mbit datarate, INTRA frame 4:2:2 internal recording to current (next-gen) media-Cfast 2.0. Auto focus Canon Log Wide DR 5-axis IS that everybody loves 27-270mm in video recording adjustable, pretty big LCD included loupe built in ND WiFi 1080@60 Internal timelapse as an actual shooter, I am pretty confident I can make this camera work. And if this is the WORST of 2015, I'd sure like to see what camera with comparable specs as listed above would be the best. I paid $1245 for an open box new one. Normal new price is $1750 (without media). Thankful for tips!
+Andrée Markefors Best of luck with it. Maybe it will work for your needs better than it did for Levi and I. I'd still go with an RX10 II instead. Jordan @ TCSTV
+TheCameraStoreTV See, here's the difference: that you want to go with a RX10 II is totally fine with me. I do wish you best of luck with 100Mbit 4k though. Maybe Sony has found a way to make that work-but if the threads on the FS5 is any indication: not likely. And since I already use a Cinema EOS Canon Log camera, that's what I'll pick for consistency (I WOULD pick the Sony's lens though). The main point remains: Canon presents a compact, "cheap" camera with the specs I list above and you manage to turn it into the WORST of 2015. That really lacks perspective and real insight in my eyes. You seem like nice guys and I like your presentation; I just won't come back for it.
Andrée Markefors Don't know. It doesn't matter. It just read funny when you said youre a shooter but have never shot with it but everyone else is wrong. I've never shot with it either. Forget it :D
Well that's it, 2015 is now officially on the way out. Couldn't help but wonder if someone will clean up Jordan's glass rings on the mantel before New Year's.
Jordan I totally agree with you about the nikon 24-70e vr. The old one I think is a much better value with better optics. For run and gun video I love Tamron 24-70 vc. In fact the Tamron is very close in image quality to the nikon 24-70g. The only other thing is I would pick the d7100 over a d5500 due to ability drive af in older nikon lenses, and meter with non CPU lenses. That just me, I love the old Nikon AIS lenses.
Great review guys, It is just interesting to note that your second worst camera of 2015 (Leica SL) has been catalogued as the Camera of the year for Steve Huff ... So, there is some bias in some place here! cheers!
+chris well that was fun, but I'm thinking maybe a Peter Pan theme for next year. you could be a dashing Captain Hook, while Jordan would make a fine Tinkerbell, or would that be too weird? ;)
Wow. Excellent as always. There was a sudden sound volume drop at some point kn the video. I had to push up the volume like 2 points (on my smartphone).
Love your channel, you guys are hilarious! I'm in British Columbia so I can't visit your shop, but keep doing the videos, they have a huge influence on my kit purchases sometimes the final say!
100 percent an honest review from the view of a professional photographer who buys his equipment. From the investment angle, I would like to have the max bang for bucks than playing fiddle to brands.
It's Nia Alleyne from Twitter (@letswearblack). Love your videos and thank you so much for answering my question, it truly means a lot... I guess I'll be going with the Panasonic G7x then! Can't wait to watch future videos.
Very enjoyable, interesting and informative to watch. I was especially interested in the new lighting devices - so small and portable, with soft lighting. I await the review of the Sony RX1R II and comparison with the Leica Q with great interest, not only to find out what you think, but on what you make your judgements. Thanks for the great video.
Funny, Fun stuff!! Could have been my EggNog , but Chris' living room has a tilt. Nothing on your list that's going on my list this season....but did get (last Christmas) the Tactical Austrian/Swiss Sniper Mitts you wore last year.
You're lucky Canon pulled the XC10 of their pants this year! Loved the show but you should have Levy be part of the game, I mean, he was already playing with the balls!

Soon as I saw this was posted I LITERALLY exclaimed "YUSSSSSSSSSSS!" out-loud.
LMAO same
+Mat R Ditto :D!
+Mat R then we see a blooper, "Yusssss, yussssss"!
Fun! Loved how you kept dissing on the xc10. Come on Canon give us something in 2016 that we can talk about in a good way instead of being an easy target!
Perhaps in next year's version of this count down to the worst you could destroy them as you talk about the bad ones. 😀
I hate seeing equipment destroyed. I blame The Who.
+canturgan 😀 they won't have to really destroy it, they could fake it somehow using special effects.
Harry Debenham
I used to be a gear chaser too but now I am perfectly happy with what I've got and I'm going to use it until it or I am dead.
+Harry Debenham 5d mark vi is going to be disappointment.... except to me, as I'm expecting that!
+canturgan Damned right no more GAS
This video was filmed on the Canon XC-10.
Why was James Franco filming the whole thing?
+Dapper Geek News A man has to work.
+Dapper Geek News because he's not as good looking as Jordan
I have to say, watching Chris and Jordan get drunk is probably the highlight of any year
i told EVERYONE , 4 months before it came out, ....that the NEW 24-70 G VR Nikkor would be BAD
I told everyone, and of course Im RIGHT
Forums in my country are filled with dissatisfied comments about it as well. People compare it with Tamron A007 which cost about 1/2 the price.
I feel bad about the lens, I love its VR but the vignette is scaring.
BTW I owned a Tamron A07 before, nice lens but sometimes it can not focus correctly so I sold it.
I'm still mid renovations! There will be carpets and pictures on the wall soon I promise.Chris@TCSTV
Great video guys - and great to see you name the 85mm Batis as best lens! Buy you a gentlemans shot if you are heading to CES in January...
+Matt Granger We're missing CES, our next show is NAB in April and then (fingers crossed) Photokina.
Jordan @ TCSTV
Ah too bad. Should pop over for a sake in Tokyo for CP+ in Feb!
If Drunk History ever comes to Canada, you two should be the first storytellers
I have been watching out for this to be posted today. Thanks guys, as entertaining as ever.
The initial scene: how to set up your camera in an awkward slanted way ;P
Thanks guys! I have to say, this is starting to turn into a Christmas tradition! Thank you.
Had a smile on my face, almost the whole time, watching this. Great job guys. Cable TV certainly has a reason, to be concerned. With offerings like this, my television stays dark. Keep up with the great content. I'll be watching.
You know that strangely contributed to my Christmas buildup buzz this year?!
Keep it up guys, from New Zealand :)
I bought the G7 recently. I got some Olympus primes and it takes amazing stills and video.
Nice house Chris but the sound EWWW!!! Too many echos! Put down some carpet 😂
I feel like I watched the 2014 one just yesterday. WHERE DID THE YEAR GO?!?
Sorry but this was shot really sloppy, the audio was doubled on a lot of Chris his shots and every shot was off axis ... Still love the video but yea, pay attention guys.
+Perry van der Steen Yep. The editor forgot to mute all but one audio track on the timeline. It makes such a nice flange effect :)
+Perry van der Steen think the mic axis on jordan was off, and jordan has to speak louder...
well, they are drunk.

Great annual video guys! It's just a bonus to the entertaining content you provide all year long. Happy Holidays.
No surprise to see the A7R2 becomes the best photo camera this year! ! It just amazing!
Those chairs look extremely uncomfortable. Jordan is right about the viewfinder. Nikon has a shit eyepoint on most of their cameras, you need to shove your eye in there to see the edges or the number readout.
+Glenners I was right! Chris is the one with the bizarre opinion about the D5500's finder.
Jordan @ TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV Woops my mistake! Jordan has it right, Chris is smoking something. I can't stop laughing after you broke the canon lens...
Here is how to play the drinking game at home. Every time someone says "piece of kit" do a shot.
As an A7R owner I'm literally heart broken...
Oh who am I kidding, I will probably use this camera until the shutter breaks.
Please, do something like this again with 2016 gear
Great video guys! I'm amazed that this video doesn't have 100k+ views because it sure deserves it! Not only because of the amount of liquor being consumed while doing 'Lens Pong' ;)

Jordan @ TCSTV
Hiring a Levi replacement? Tell me where to sent my resume! Anyway, awesome job, guys!
3rd year following, always enjoy your reviews especially the year end ones! Happy Holidays!
I like how Chris just suddenly started to talk about the fireplace
One of the best camera channels on RUclips, hand down. Could y'all review the Voigtlander Noktons for m4/3?
Shame on Levi for the crooked horizon line, (or maybe Chris's remodelled fireplace mantel is crooked?). Very distracting.
+Jeffrey Puritz Oh that fireplace is perfect! Shame on Levi.
Chris @TCSTV
+TheCameraStoreTV He deserves a good spanking ;-) the video of which we expect you to post ;-)
Typical photographer's house, no pictures on the walls.

can you guys do a what to expect for 2016 video? 80D? Love the content you guys create.

Great fun to watch and a lot to be learned, again. Great job guys ! Have a steady and sharp New Year !
Ordered my XC-10 yesterday. Looking forward to using it as a B-cam to my 1Dc on a Ronin-M. Reading comments below from names I recognize, they have totally lost almost all credibility in my eyes. Same with the producers of this video.

as an actual shooter, I am pretty confident I can make this camera work. And if this is the WORST of 2015, I'd sure like to see what camera with comparable specs as listed above would be the best. I paid $1245 for an open box new one. Normal new price is $1750 (without media).

+Andrée Markefors Best of luck with it. Maybe it will work for your needs better than it did for Levi and I. I'd still go with an RX10 II instead.

Great end-of-year wrap-up! Happy holidays, all :-)
thank u so much we love you TCSTV
Thanks for sharing your year with us, guys! Loved it!
Now... get some better audio !
Almost a year later and Jordan is still working on FS5 review :)
A7R II is the biggest game changer this year
+ThatPyotr Sure it is. XD You trolling?
+Okkl So nah
The A7R is actually not bad
Its good enough to compete with high end dslrs
ThatPyotr O.o so how is that a game changer? Wow 4k at 25fps so impressed >.>
+Okkl So
what other high end ff camera has 4k? oh 1dc... for how much????
+Okkl So You are trolling. If you want video, go for an A7SII.
Great video! Next year, have the cameraman take shots as well, would prob make an epic video.
I love your end of year videos. They're so funny!2015 was great. Here's to a greater 2016. Merry Christmas TCSTV!
Jordan I totally agree with you about the nikon 24-70e vr. The old one I think is a much better value with better optics. For run and gun video I love Tamron 24-70 vc. In fact the Tamron is very close in image quality to the nikon 24-70g.

Next year I wanna see you guys do it in Santa suits. (I mean , you know, the show- not- Hey nothing weird here!)
Nope too late! We're going with your first statement.
Chris@TCSTV
+chris well that was fun, but I'm thinking maybe a Peter Pan theme for next year. you could be a dashing Captain Hook, while Jordan would make a fine Tinkerbell, or would that be too weird? ;)
Entertaining AND informative! You're doing great, guys. Merry Christmas :)
Wow. Excellent as always. There was a sudden sound volume drop at some point kn the video. I had to push up the volume like 2 points (on my smartphone).
been waiting for this and you guys didn't disappoint!

The Bob and Doug McKenzie year end edition!
Man the worst picks were brutal haha. Great video as always
thanks. I enjoyed last years as well as this one. keep up the good work. Merry Christmas. looking forward to your review of the Pentax full frame.
Funny seeing you guys sitting round the fire while we're sweltering in 37 Celsius heat in Australia. 39 tomorrow woohoo!
Super fun to watch! Great job.
Liked the list. Thank youfor the XC10! I am not alone
We need Levi in more videos.

Still looking forward to that FS5 review!
