Thanks for your videos, Denis. I have gained so much insight from you about how music works and how beneficial it is to learn like a language by listening and 'speaking' it 😊
One of the most influential figures of the last decades in the style: "i'm a nobody" Thanks again for this drop if wisdom! It's something I never actively thought about. I definitely can perceive different rhythm "feels" but i never could put my finger on what exactly the difference is. Another great topic on the endless list to work on, thank you! P.S.: i don't understand the transient reference though, does that mean that f.e. the chords for 30s style do get played more staccato (like playing a full 6 string chord like one single hit) and for more modern style it is more diffuse and a longer sounding "rake"?
@@manoftheworld56 I think it’s one of the best budget guitars (my personal favorite anyway). Altamiras need to be setup properly by a good technician though. I got mine from DjangoGuitars. As a disclaimer, I was sponsored but I did specifically request this model. I wanted to have a guitar that I can take anywhere and not get worried about damaging an expensive instrument. It’s a budget guitar so obviously it will never compete with a good handmade guitar but it certainly does the job. Past a certain price, when it comes to budget guitars, I personally feel it’s pointless to pay extra for a sound that doesn’t compete with an actual good guitar. So the Model M does the job!

Truth is, you're not a nobody, and he wasn't all the way up there either (RIP Sylvain). Lemme explain: in the realm of modern education and modern gypsy jazz scene and trad jazz, you're far from a nobody, everyone knows you and appreciates your work. In the realm of music performance, unfortunately Sylvain wasn't all the way up there, no jazz musicians are. Contemporary music is so dominated by pop music, and pure instrumental music by classical music, that no jazz musicians are all the way up there. They are just not in the same universe as the likes of Dua Lipa etc; compared to these modern day pop giants, jazz musicians are like ants vs buildings.
Come on, you're not a "nobody" Denis, actually a lot owe a great deal of gratitude for what you teach and do!
Aw thanks

I really liked your Rhythm playing with Duved (in your white suits). Transatlantic. That was killer
Great info, now if only everyone would listen to your sage advice!
Nice insights. Thanks for the video 🫡

Denis what do you think about Altamira's Model M as far as budget models goes?

If there is no exat beat from the rhythm, there is no playing on the beat, in front the beat , and laid back feel possible for the soloist
