I watched a few because I'm do to take care of a bed bound patient, and your video made it look real easy and I'm a little more confident after seeing this.
My biggest piece of advice is to watch your body positioning! Do not lift with your back or you may injure yourself. Raise the bed to waist height, stand with feet shoulder width apart, and use your legs to help move weight. Best of luck. - Ellis
I'm in a CNA class right now and it's a lot more extensive than this. We have to keep the resident covered at all times with a bath blanket, use a lift sheet and top sheet, and don and doff gloves at certain points. For some reason they say we're supposed to change the pillowcase at the end which doesn't seem right to me, but that's above my paygrade. Thanks for this video!
@@oreo-sr2pq my lna teacher taught us gloves should always be worn when making the beds. You can always do more but never less. The only time gloves aren't worn is for feeding and hand washing.
The pad wasn't smooth under her and in real life would have been uncomfortable/annoying at 4:20. I see these things because I am my adult daughters caretaker and she thankfully can tell me when something isn't right. That bothers her.
I would hope that any nurse, regardless of title, is willing to meet a patient's basic needs. If I have time then I will absolutely make a bed, ambulate a patient to the bathroom, change a brief, or feed someone their meal. It does not matter that it is a task the nursing assistant could do, I am going to do it. Teamwork is so important.
@@LevelUpRN Wonderful response but With the changing needs of patients and emerging technologies, I do feel that task shifting is very important and Nurses need to be prepared for higher roles in order to improve outcomes at large..
Your channel is amazing. Thank you for all you do!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
About to do my test off for my nursing 101 class in a few days. This was a great video; I feel more confident now (: thank you!
That's great! Thank you and best of luck.
I like the pillow technique!

Glad it was helpful!
Ms Kathy is another health care worker, with scrubs under her hospital gown. Fun video to watch. not boring. ha ha
Thank you for this video. I will be ordering the fundamental cards soon I start nursing school in the fall..
Wonderful! Be sure to check out our Fundamentals playlist on RUclips, too! Best of luck in school :)
The fitted sheet needs to be pulled tighter to avoid pressure areas.
This is so helpful. Thank you
Happy to hear and you are so welcome.
Is it safe to handle dirty/ soiled and clean linen without gloves?
Dirty and soiled linen should ALWAYS be held with gloves. Clean linen doesn’t need to have gloves. Why would you need gloves if it’s clean?

I found it helpful since i am taking online course of caregiving

It can also cause skin breakdown
You are absolutely right.
Wow it's easy to learn, thank you so much
You're welcome 😊
Thank God I came across this coz I have a demo of Bed making this week❤
Is it really necessary even now a days to do bed making?? Why not such works to be given to nursing assistants

I loved your video😊
My question is, is occupied bed making a trolley or tray procedure?
I’m starting as a pca today … what is trolley vs tray procedure
I found helpful since
hope your patient doesn't have pressure sores, because the bottom sheet is really wrinkly!
Thank you so much
You're most welcome!
The barrier for the table
Dis video is so helpful
So happy to help!
And the gloves ???
What is the name of the pad you using
Nice 👍
Thanks 😊
You told the patient to move my her self what if the patient is not able what should we do in that case
You would need a second person to come in and assist in order to do this safely.
Where is your gloves Mam..
Where does clients privacy go 😂😂
Thank you
You bet!
Thx❤️❤️
You're welcome 😊
May I have gloves on while making the bed?
Yes of course. I'm a CNA and you don't want to touch dirty linens with your bare hands trust me lol
Absolutely! It slipped my mind since Cathy and I were doing this in a clean bed. If the bed is soiled, you should wear gloves. - Ellis
Gloves or no gloves?
with gloves
Always take care of self.. with gloves
I thought each sheet and blanket had to be folded individually. Making more work than needs to be.
Where are her gloves?
Definitely should have gloves on
Can you use gloves during bed making
Yes, absolutely!
It is my impression gloves are supposed to be worn when making beds.
Do u make a bed alone
I think you must have an assistant
God. I even hate to make my own bed
No hygiene observations
Why you don’t use gloves
Thank you for the video, but you forget to put your gloves.
Pull the bedpad more
shouldn't she be wearing gloves????
She should wear it
❤
😍
I hvnt seen any glove nor mask😮
Why would you wear a mask
Ooooooh but the wrinkled pad and bottom sheet though!!!
She touched the dirty sheets without gloves on and then clean sheets
