@@FactsVerse… That was yet another scene that was nearly cut and left on the editing room floor. They didn’t want “Mona Lisa” portrayed as a whiney girlfriend, but as a strong Jersey Girl with the expertise to assist Vincent Gambini in solving the case. Wisely, they left that scene in, as it helped establish the long term relationship of the 2 characters…
Austin Pendleton the lawyer, that little pat he gives as he's about to go into his examination, and the worst stuttering ever. That whole stuttering scene kills me. "My Cousin Vinny" is truly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
Actors in the background were laughing (or trying in vain to conceal their laughter) at the stuttering lawyer in the courtroom. One of the cops seen in the background along with Mitchell Whitfield and Ralph Macchio are all having a tough time keeping it together in several shots during the stuttering lawyer's open statement and cross examination of Mr. Tipton. The first few times I watched the movie, my stomach hurt from laughing too hard at that scene alone.
The story is good, the actors are good but this movie draws me more frequently to Marisa Tomei , what a doll ! ❤️ She deserved this award with her acting !
This movie is just fun. Vinny always struck me as all street smart and that was why he struggled with the academics. Nothing more needed to explain his situation. Awesome!
"Are you mocking me" and "Does that train come through here at that time every day?"The whistle at the factory. The lard hitting the griddle. Hell, every scene is my favorite.
After the judge says to let the record show that Mr. Gambini held up two fingers: "Now, Mrs. Riley (gives the judge major side-eye), and ONLY Mrs. Riley, how many fingers do you see?"

This has been my all time favorite comedy ever since it was released. All the actors/actresses were perfect, but Marisa was on a whole other level. How could anybody watch the movie and not fall head over heels for her? Vinny: “dead on balls accurate?” Mona Lisa Vito: “It’s an industry term.” 😂❤
“I’m done wit dis guy” “you sure about that 5 minutes” “Identical” (or eye den tic cull) “It’s a trick question” So many lines but favorite scene is when Vinny gives back to his girlfriend the feet stomping “clock” bit….it is hilariously funny and scary wrong at the exact same time. Excellent timing and delivery by both of them.
There's a scene in a motel room when, in one shot, Mona Lisa's hair has a white streak near the temple and another where there is no stripe, then back to a third shot where it reappears. I can't recall if it was the 'dripping faucet' scene or the 'shoot the deer' scene. Damn. Now I got to watch it again.
Joe Pecci to the Judge " Permission to treat the witness as hostile." Marissa Tomei: "You think I'm hostile now." In 1997 I was seconded to our legal department for a year to help them defend the claim one of the contractors filed against us. The lawyers then explained to me what a hostile witness means.
"You think you are in trouble now, wait until your father comes home." That is the punch line to a social situation of a child who gets in trouble in school and is brought home to his mother. The reference here is Marissa's "U think I'm hostile now...." The opposing side of that is a more current event where the mother says "My son is a good person" after the boy gets arrested (or worse) for committing a serious crime, as shown on TV, sometimes eluding the police, usually or too often ending up as a "or worse."
I have watched this movie at least 2 dozen times. As a Brooklynite who's ex wife dragged him to Alabama I can vouch for everything in the movie. My favorite line? "Meanwhile my body clock is ticking away"
The reason why My Cousin Vinnie worked so well is that it isn't making fun of EITHER NY culture OR southern culture. All the fun of the movie lies in the *_intersection of the two,_* with neither making fun of the either, only the clashes of the two cultures -- the whole "Yutes" interaction with the judge, for example -- neither is suggested to be wrong, only that there is a communication failure because of the accent difference. Much, if not all, of the humor revolves around these clashes.
I always loved the "defense is wrong" scene, but it could have been so much better. As written, VINNY is the one who figures it out and has to lead Mona by the nose to the conclusion. Would have been SO much better if she'd realized it and had to lead HIM into realizing she knew something, and then just taking the leap of faith with a leading question to her.
A FAVORITE comedy movie! So many funny lines! We just experienced this a week ago stopping in a very rural diner. "Excuse me. You guys down here hear about the ongoing cholesterol problem in the country?" I have not tasted eggs fried in lard since the early 60s and frankly, don't miss it! Would love to watch it with my granddaughter but there are too many f bombs. The train scene where the glasses are shaken off the table. The difference between NY culture, "I shot the clerk?"
Vinny Gambini: "Well, perhaps the laws of physics cease to exist on your stove. Were these magic grits? I mean, did you buy them from the same guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans?" So MANY funny quotes, but this has got to be one of my favorites!
“My Cousin Vinny” is one of my top three favorite comedy movies. It’s at the top with “Space Balls” and the incredibly funny and classic “Blazing Saddles”. I think I might to watch all three back to back to back this weekend.

Well, I guess I got stuff all the way up to New releases. We have around 1200 total and counting. We think it makes much more sense to have physical objects like dad's and Blu rays rather than something digital. My Favorite Scene in this AWESOME Movie is every one with Marisa in it!!! I have Loved this Gorgeous Woman From the Begining of her Career! Cheers Sweetheart!
My brother had a stutter very similar to that of Austin Pendleton's character, so I was a bit worried about whether he might think that scene was offensive. But he loved it and thought it was hilarious.
One of my all time favorite movies. Like in all great movies, great actors playing great roles. One of the few movies I watch over and over again. Joe Pesci & Marisa Tomei were great in their parts but so was Fred Guinn as the Judge. From my point of view...He made the movie really work. That great voice! A real piece of Americana!
My favorite thing about this movie is the places really exist and they were in a real prison..That's why I was so into the older movies instead of the new kind. I'm pretty sure that they really got stuck in the Alabama or Georgia mud...I 4get what state the movie was filmed in but they made everything as real as real could be..I got myself stuck in the mud several times down south just pulling off the side of the road. Wva has their fare share of clay mud roads as well lol..
I attended this with some friends, and when that photograph of the tire marks was shown, I leaned over and whispered 'positraction" to my friend Karen. She said, "What?" I just told her to keep watching. When the movie was over, she told everyone, "Jim said it was positraction!" They all had a good chuckle.
MCV is one of my favorite movies and I have watched it at least a dozen times over the years whenever a rerun comes on TV. It is one of the movies that I can watch and recite verbatim what the actor says.
@@FactsVerse The Goonies is the #1 classic, followed closely by Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and of course National Lampoons Vacation. None of the movies made today have the classic comedy sense that the 1980's and 90's had. The insanity of political correctness and lack of writing skills these days have ruined the movies.
Other than the order of steps necessary to introduce evidence and the lack of objection on the record regarding the expert witness testimony, the trial scenes were great!!

My brother had a stutter very similar to that of Austin Pendleton's character, so I was a bit worried about whether he might think that scene was offensive. But he loved it and thought it was hilarious.
Very interesting, thank you so much for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see?
Pendleton's Stuttering, etc., had Pesci, Whittfield & Machio hiding their Actually Laughing, if you look closely.
I've seen this movie a million times, and it always makes me laugh.
A classic all around. Every character was well chosen.
My favorite part of the movie.. when Marissa was explaining the car stuff
It is a family cult classic I think we have seen it at least 30 times. It's one of those movies you never get tired of watching.
now everyone knows what positraction is
I attended this with some friends, and when that photograph of the tire marks was shown, I leaned over and whispered 'positraction" to my friend Karen. She said, "What?" I just told her to keep watching. When the movie was over, she told everyone, "Jim said it was positraction!" They all had a good chuckle.
Great movie! Way too many funny lines. One of my favs: “dead on balls accurate?”
One of our favorites too, you've got fine taste! What other types of video would you like to see?
When Vinny tells the bully to pay Mona Lisa and the bully responds how about I just kick your ass? Vinny: “oh a counteroffer.” 😂😂😂
"Would you care what the sob who shot you was wearing" scene is the cherry of the pie
I absolutely adored My Cousin Vinny. I have loved the Actor Joe Pesci since I watched this movie.
Glad to know that you're a fan! What other types of video would you like to see?
Vinny to judge about looking “lawyerly” : “You were serious about that”?
MCV is one of my favorite movies and I have watched it at least a dozen times over the years whenever a rerun comes on TV. It is one of the movies that I can watch and recite verbatim what the actor says.
Glad to know that you're a fan of MCV. Thanks for sharing. What other types of video would you like to see?
@@FactsVerse The Goonies is the #1 classic, followed closely by Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and of course National Lampoons Vacation.
None of the movies made today have the classic comedy sense that the 1980's and 90's had. The insanity of political correctness and lack of writing skills these days have ruined the movies.
Yutes. Loved that film even to today.
“You got mud in your tires”
How do you get mud into the tire?
Am watching it now seen it 100s when was kid now 40 and still laugh my ass out so funny amazing film
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see?
...and when Vinny slips in the mud and his dry cleaning goes flying...lol....."I had your suit dry cleaned...thought it would be nice"
Other than the order of steps necessary to introduce evidence and the lack of objection on the record regarding the expert witness testimony, the trial scenes were great!!
Best comedy in History🎉
I loved that movie! Was Ralph Macchio filming the karate kid movies at that time or is this before that?
Glad to know that you're a fan! What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
I wish RM never did Karate Kid. It was embarrassing! He was as convincing as a three dollar note.
Karate Kid movies were in '84 and '86?.
