So, what do you think about this house? Pretty weird, eh? I hope you enjoy checking it out with us. You can find RelicManMatt's youtube channel here: www.youtube.com/@RelicManMatt/featured
Did you ever find out what exactly that place was used for? It almost looks like some kind of troubled youth camp. And if they weren't when they got there, They sure were when they left!🤣👍. Great video Beau! Thanks for sharing with us! You going to detect around these old places this year?
This place has the vibe of a group home for kids/teens that needed a place to live and maybe work a bit. Judging by the lockers, small single beds and the phonebook from 97, it was in operation until fairly recently. I'd bet there's records on it in the nearest town if that's a rabbit hole anyone wants to go down. Thanks for taking us along, it was interesting.
Spooky indeed. When the raccoon ran between your feet, you were laughing to keep from screaming, I’m sure. That house sure had that “asylum” look and feel about it. Anyway, thanks for taking chances for us and taking us along.
It reminds me of a poor farm/poorhouse. I've seen a few very old ones in the Northeast. All were beautifully built. I wonder what it was being used for in the 90s though.
My guess is that house used to be a boarding house for old people that needed care. I also want to correct the Chig. He stated the chimneys are for wood stoves but I think with the visible gas lines and the propane tank etc. this is no longer the case. That being said keep up the good work Chig and be careful walking on rotted floors.
I just hate it when I come across old houses like this Falling apart! I think it all comes back from childhood when I lived in one huge 2 story 5 bedroom house around 4000 sqft. And it had hidden rooms for storage. It’s was great being a kid in a house that size.
Awesome chigger lace your glad the raccoon didn't bite you like before in the river something I can't forget but enjoy that it is a spooky place love the adventure👍🙏
Love the old houses. The main part looks like early to mid 1800's. Most porch columns earlier are solid wood, although these could have been replacements. I think I could see that those shallow closets were added later maybe early 1900s . If the roof hadn't gone it could have been saved. Take care out there, I've stepped through floors that looked better than what you were walking on.
Looks like an old residential school. I thought I would be the only person to know about a three compartment sink, plus I have used one when the conveyor dishwasher packed up.
British company Critall was a very big manufacturer of "narrow sightline" steel windows in the UK. "In 1907, Crittall came to the U.S. where it built and operated the first steel window factory in the states under Detroit Steel Products Co".
It saddens me that we have so many abandoned homes and cities and yet so many people living on the streets. Seems there could be something done to make this a win, win for everyone.
I've had a reoccurring dream about an old farm house or barn and I just woke up from a nap thinking about it then I see this on my subscription feed...it creeped me out but thankfully it's not the same building. This place is definitely creepier lol
Sad to see this great place in this condition. I am getting orphanage vibes, or some kind of troubled youth facility with all those locks on doors. I thought maybe it could have been a place for wounded soldiers to recoup or elderly. With all those lockers, it certainly does seem like there were quite a few to a room. I would have loved to bring that old ladder home!!
It always makes me wonder what our dwellings and buildings will look like in a couple centuries. Seeing as how things have been going in the last couple decades, maybe a lot like this, condition wise.
Fun exploration! This reminds me of some friends of mine that explored an old abandoned hospital that found old files and body parts in jars! One of my friends took a picture laying in the morgue! LOL!!!!
That was a pretty cool old Greek Revival house on an English basement. It’s a shame the roof was so far gone. The staircase newel post and balastrade had been a replacement of an earlier one and upstairs rooms had been cut up. I enjoyed seeing this old place. Thank you very much!
I have NEVER seen a building still standing in that kind of devastated state. I would be terrified to risk those stairways, thinking that the entire thing could go down at any moment!
Whew! You made it out, Beau/Chigg. Man you do give new meaning to the words "time out". Lol. I'm liking these Adventures with you and Matt .... "We're so far from civilization, no one would hear you scream". Chigg .... "Hey wait a second man. Are you setting me up for somethin'? Are you the one that said only one of us is gonna come out of here alive?" Made me laugh. Mystery, Suspense, Humor. Sounds like a Chigg vid.
🤦♀️That skeleton underneath the porch though!! Not certain if I was looking at a human rib cage or not?? Classic place for burial I should say! Nice explore! Edit/ In addition I almost forgot, What about the pad locks outside of the doors!!!! OMG! Had to be a Private Group home for troubled youths, the only way to keep the kids safe particularly at night, with probably one person working the night shift, not having the security options we have today, it is frightening to think of fire prevention tho. Intriguing segment!(sorry for my rambling:) Perfect location and editing💫💯
Geez, that does look like a county old folks home or an asylum. The sink is worth saving and wall bolts are cool. Sometimes you can find the wrench that tightens then. Did the raccoon like and subscribe on her way out?
With the bunk beds and lockers, maybe it was a half-way house. Payphone maybe goes along with that. Possibly they worked the farm or something. Very odd but cool to go thru.
It looks like a group home. So they would’ve kept like kids with trouble there. That’s why there was a bed in that front room. Well, the front closet, the overnight person could sleep in there. It was very scary though. Thanks for taking us.
Oh man! That's a cool, creepy old house! I thought "Man, that looks like an asylum" just before you said it in the video! (or a "boys home" type deal) I hope that was Matt's shadow on the walls 4-ish minute mark ... Looks like someone standing there. Don't know where Matt was at the time. Creepy!! Did you open the lockers and look for unfortunate animals? (I wondered what that third sink was for!) Looks like they left with the windows open, which is weird. But a cool place to explore! Nothing like that around these parts ... Keep 'em coming, Chigg! Love it! - Muddypaw 🐾
Three sink setups are usually for soak/scrub with soap, rinsing off in clean water, then a final dip in a sanitizing solution before (usually air) drying. It's a common standard for most commercial/large volume setups.
Aquachigger, Holy Cow, Sakes Alive, Damn Boy, that places is freaking going down. I have never seen brick work look like that, how much longer can that place stand? I remember that Institutional Light Green in the Sanitarium where I last saw my Grandfather in 1958, not a good memory.
I really enjoy these explorations. You never know what you may find in these buildings. Each is a piece of history in its own way and these videos may be the last chance to capture that history.
I can't get over the poor quality bricks crumbling away. I live close to an area renowned for great quality clay and old brickworks. A friends grandfather or great grandfather owned one. There were three I know of.
Brilliant video Chigg. I do love your exploration video's. Would be great if you came over the pond again and did some more work. Anything thing really to get you on the TV again or RUclips in the UK. You're just a natural orator.
The green is a color that keeps the patients calm. It's a shame they've let this house self destruct. True brick houses around my area are getting few and far between.
Looks like some sort of school house or boys home to me! I went to school in second grade in a two room school house in the 70’s that still stands abandoned and boarded off for 50 years. Would love to walk through it. It closed down shortly after I went there.
Better a raccoon than what must surely be demons and all sorts in a creepy, old, place like that. Fascinating adventure though. Now go back at night. I double dog dare ya. Well, maybe don't. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah Creepy Pasta place ! Careful! Fell through a false ceiling...stuck arms out quick...saved my butt ..be surprised how fast you fall when crap gives way...... The dry rot can fool you .. looks ok but like a graham cracker ..turns to powder when broken. ..This was a good adventure....to the nut house we go !
I would love to own that old farmhouse, gut it and rebuild it back to what it would have looked like but with better insulation and energy saving windows.
Where is this building, state? Used to look for old houses/ buildings as teens. Found some really crazy to the point of being evil places. Looks very familiar.
It definitely looks like this place was either a school, some sort of hospital or a home for kids/teenagers who don't have a place to live. Or the previous tenants just really missed one of those environments for some reason. 😂
That really is a weird and creepy house. You said the rest of the farm was creepy as well, hope you have more videos from this property. And that raccoon encounter was something else! 🤣 What are the odds you caught it perfectly on video lol. Love ya Chigg 👍

I was thinking something similar. Like a halfway house for troubled teens. Intended to keep them on the straight and narrow, and out of jail.
I kept waiting for the spirit of Nurse Rachet to jump out in front of you. Great video thanks.
Possibly a hospital/home for people with Tuberculosis.
Thank you for sharing.

Love ya CHIGG great adventure 👍👍👍
That was a fun video. Love it when you check out these old houses.

🙋♀Awesome Chigg!! Thanks!!👍😁
Thank you! Cheers!
Good episode Chigg 😂👌awesome house at one time.
That was a beautiful house in its day. I imagine the family that so proudly built it never dreamed it would end up like this.
Thanks for the video.

what? no trip to the attic? thats the scariest place!
The ladder was rotten and I think I heard low whispers coming from up there.
@@aquachigger low whispers??? im out!
That place was really creepy, your right it looks like something from a horror movie.
As always you take us along on another great adventure thank you 👍
I like how u jus go to all these places and make a documentary
Thanks
Bunch of work went into a building like that. Cool how mother nature moves in. Enjoyed
Looks like what they used to have like a county old folks home way back. They lived and helped farm and feed everyone there that had no place to go.
Making arrangements to publish your last video. MAN that's dedication!

Very interesting old house
It saddens me that we have so many abandoned homes and cities and yet so many people living on the streets. Seems there could be something done to make this a win, win for everyone.
This would have absolutely no appeal. No drugs available and no stores to rob.
The bricks are crumbling away. Very poor quality.

Those locked doors from the outside. 😬😬
It's a good thing you were close to a "latrine" during the raccoon encounter. It almost came in handy. 😄

cool old place, likely was run as a poor farm, pretty common back during the depression era.
