Will a detector pick up the "chip" from a "chipped pet"? The little RFID chip locator people put in their pets to find them if they're lost; for anyone who doesn't know what I mean.
If I'm not mistaken I believe the item you wanted us to guess at , is the dividers for an old aluminum Ice tray my mother used that typ. I could be wrong but I think that's what that was . Thanks Chigg
I'm pretty positive it is the divider from an ice tray. We had one forever when I was a kid. When the divider finally wore out, my parents kept the tray and used an ice pick to get the ice out.
I loved that ice tray! I was very very young when we had one of those and it was either my grandmother or my mother, that would say, DON'T FORCE IT! She would take it to the sink and run water over the bottom and top of the tray for a few seconds then grab the handle and "POP" cubes! Thanks for the memory!
Thank you Chigg for another investigative adventure. The mystery find was part of an ice cube trey. This property reminds me of where I grew up with my uncle on a tenant farm. The house sat on hard scrabble and, behind the smoke house a garden and trash pile. There were hundreds of Prince Albert tobacco cans. I’d use them to hold worms and crickets for fishing, target practice with my little 22, build toy forts and all kinds of things. Your right, it was a different time. I’m glad for what I’ve got today but I miss the old people and their ways.
I enjoyed the little moment where you sneezed and both your camera and detector jolted. I also liked the moment where you congratulated yourself for identifying the garden. I had just come to the same conclusion, and the very next scene you were standing next to the functioning garden I laughed out loud. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride! ❤
Man i really enjoy these longer videos. I've dug up a few pets myself, a bunch of real old dog tags. Now whenever i go onto a property that is one of the first things i ask, not everyone knows the history of the and though so sometimes it just happens. This property sure looks like a fun one, it's huge, you could hunt it for years. Thanks for keeping me motivated Chigg.
Thank you Chigg ! You are a breath of sanity and calm in this madness ocean of our times. As is your Shenandoah Valley! It looks and feels like one of the last refuges . And what a fun property to roam! I hope you will have time to do a video of the historic barn as well. Grateful for ya !
As I have come to expect, yu have been both entertaining and informative. I always enjoy watching you search and then give a commentary. Thank you for all you do,
Hi Chigg, the item you found at 14 minutes in was a water pump impeller. It is very similar only larger than the one that cools my inboard diesel sailboat engine.
Around here in NE Iowa they put cisterns uphill from the home. A windmill setting above them keeps them filled. The Cistern then gravity feeds the homestead. Check to see if there is a well hole and pipe in the bottom of it. Good luck, happy hunting and take care. ✌️
13:30.... I believe that's what's left of an old impeller out of a good sized outboard motor and the collar you found should of been the inner sleeve of it.
That is one of the most scenic parts of the U.S. In fact, if I were to move somewhere, the Shenandoah would be the place. It has great scenery, small mountains, rolling hills, and terrific summers that don't get too hot, per the constant breezes coming down through the valley. It's gets just enough snow for beauty, but doesn't pile up and stay like further north. And while it can have cold winters, the days typically moderate to being relatively comfortable if it's not too windy. Has glorious falls and crisp springs.
Great video Chigg! Used to, I watched your videos as a way to unwind. However, after finding out I have two ancestors who fought in the War Between the States (both were brothers *and* in the same Company); I watch your videos like a student watches a professor’s lectures. Hopefully I can get out around the family property and find the home site!
The pieces of paper you showed us would’ve been an insert for a box, and it would create perfect little squares where you could see glass ornaments from your Christmas tree. This was a very nice hunt. I’m sorry you got skunked but thank you for bringing us along.
28:25 bless you… back to the vid…some nice finds and detective work as usual chig did the owner keep the door knob or did you? And if so did it clean up nice? Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
Here's an old tip you may or may not know. I was living on a hippie farm back in the 1970's in Virginia. To make some cash we would go to old, abandoned farms looking for old bottles to sell. Here's the trick: From the back door of the house throw a bottle out into the field or woods as far as you think a housewife would throw it as trash and make an arc and then search in the arc. That is where their dump is and always yielded us the best and oldest bottles.
do you save all the copper/brass, etc that you find or do you save it up and scrap it out? just curious because i work at a scrapyard in york county, PA and my present job is sorting and grading the copper and brass. i'd be psyched to see the old stuff come in to my scrapyard, its a cool part of history that doesn't get much thought

Skunk cabbage (Symplocarpus foetidus) has popped its unique spathe and spadix above the saturated muck of its swamp, fen, and seep habitats and marks the very beginning of another growing season. been wondering if we were going to get an early spring myself. been getting symptoms, indications in myself that usually herald spring. arthritis been really achy lately. been feeling kinda "perked up" starting to get back into doing projects and the like around the house, working on hobby projects. ive always likened it to 'coming out of hibernation".
Whenever I hear Shenandoah I think of William Tecumseh Sherman and the burning of the valley. Would that old, burnt brick be part of that or wasn't it that old ? There was a 3 pane window at the bottom of one of the buildings near the end of the video. Perhaps civil war era as you suggested earlier. Interesting vid as always. Thanks from southern England.
Whenever I hear Shenandoah I hear the song O Shenandoah. A beloved LDS and Oregon Trail song, full of longing love and pathos. I don't know why but that song has always made me cry, I love that song. I don't know why that song makes me cry. Probably ancestral memory, somebody who left home and had to cross the continent. I am becoming attached to this valley through your videos ! yes thats what it was, before they started making cute plastic ice trays in colors and animal shapes.
When Beau sneezed, I caught myself saying, "Bless you." 🤣 Great hunt. I'd love to roam around that land for a while.

Glad to see property in tact not divided up into housing. Thanks for sharing
This was a big farm ,you always make it look so easy. I enjoyed this adventure, looking forward for more. Thanks 👋
Ice cube tray😊

Kool old farm the small scoop looked like the kind used for cleaning out the ashes in a wood heater
The cog looking thing was an impeller (water pump) from an outboard motor.

@@aquachigger You are most welcome.

I thought a gear. But I was close. You got it RIGHT.
Thanks for the info
I agree, looks like a very worn impeller from a water pump
I like your humble way of pointing out simple ,but interesting things
I appreciate that!
With a property that size and a known history. There has to be good things to find. Keep up the hunt and thanks for sharing.
Great walk about 👏👏👍😜
Ice cube tray!!
Thanks Chigg👍
Thanks Chigg for another great AQUACHIGGER ADVENTURE. See you on the next
Your wee shovel is a tool that was used to remove the ash from a wood-fired cooking range. I have used one. THe handle is missing of cause.
nice looking spread. looks very peaceful.
I like this hunt! Can't wait for the next video!
Another great video can hardly wait for the next one.

Nice looking property for detecting on!

Love the 30 minuters.
Best day ever when I watch your videos
Great commentary very interesting and informative.
Yep! Sometimes we find peanuts sometimes just the shells 🤣🤣🤣
First thing bless you. Definitely an interesting property
can’t believe you pulled out that door knob. that’s super cool
Wasn't the building with the Propped-up chimney the Smoke House for Delicious Virginia Hams???
The Shank was intact 😍😍😍😍

Yep plenty of skunks around here but they stir at night. A skunk 🦨 is a pertty animal for sure.

Yeah I recognize that thing. Old ice tray insert. We had those when I was a kid.

Funny looking rubber item appeared to be what was left of an Outboard engine water pump impeller. Would have been more of a star fish appearance.
Howdi! Your a good person chigg. . Just wanted to say hii and thanks .
@5:27 I think that little shovel could be from a fireplace set?
The aluminum part, as you know is an ice cube tray divider. You dug up the kids shovel but at 23:05 you walked past dads shovel. :)
28:25 bless you… back to the vid…some nice finds and detective work as usual chig did the owner keep the door knob or did you? And if so did it clean up nice? Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

@@aquachigger cool thanks chig 👍🏼👊🏼
LOL.. " i very familiar with these on manure spreaders".. my dad would say, i really know how to spread it..
That first thing you found up by the house was an impeller from a boat motor!
13:28 if that is rubber its the hub of a Jabsco water pump impeller. The bronze centre would be bonded into it.
Wow now I'm a Old Timmer because I know what the ice cube separator looks like but the fancy ones had a handle to break the ice free
bless you
That thing you ask if anyone knew what was is out of a old ice tray. I still use 2 of those ice trays today.
I’ve not ever seen a chimney on a post now but I’ve seen them with flat rocks before my granny’s old house is road
Looked like an outboard motor water pump impeller
Looked like a motor boat water pump impeller, sir
Don't lie to us Mr. Chiggers! We all know you kept them old rusty rose head nails for your pile at home 😉

The beard looks pretty rad on you.
such a historically impressive location for a potential Civil War memorabilia
Chig are you going to digstock in N.C. in March. Carl
Skunks? What were you doing out there in the woods chigg?
LOVIN the beard @Chigg !!
People used the same dumping area for years. Probably under that newer trash was older stuff.
Sometimes you got to go through the trash to get to the treasure. Haha
you better be careful walking over that cistern lol
Chigg. could the small shove be a wood stove ash tool. plus you held up an ice tray out of aluminum
It's just soooo small. It would only hold a 1/2 cup of ash. I have a wood ash shovel that I use all the time.
@@aquachigger it did seem small
Skunk cabbage blooming already!!
