- Shokz - formerly known as Aftershokz - have reduced the band size on the popular Openrun and created the mini.
Everything else is the same abs in this video we review them and discover something rather fascinating. Mini ought to be the new standard size, maybe?!
We are doing a longer term test and we hope to get that out in the next week.
Check out the Shokz website in your region for any other details, like price

I bought my OpenRun Mini back in March and I continue to love them! I don't ever want to be without them for my jump rope workouts.
Thanks for the review. I was wondering about the minis. Helped me with my decision
Thank you so much for making this, so so helpful!
Thanks man, like the info and loving the accent. I got the SHOKZ mini 3 months ago and is very satisfied with it.
Thanks for the review, yes I decide to have mini after your review.
excellent. Thanks for the detailed review. I ordered the mini and have a standard type head, so glad I didn't make an error haha!
Great review. Thank you. As a small headed man I was umming and ahhrrring about which to buy and watching a couple of reviews especially yours I've gone for the mini. Cheers.
Enjoy. You won’t regret them. Thanks for watching.
Excellent initial review. I have small head (but not small brain 🤪) so it is good to know the mini might fit me well. Thank you.
my trex titanium snapped above the left earloop so I'm on the market. thought that I'm the only one with issues about the excess loop behind the head. thanks for the review. I think I'm significantly smaller than you so I'm defs getting the minis. CHEERS!
Great review.
Use mine daily spend up to 5 hours on my head most days.
Really comfortable.
Top feedback and thanks
Now thanks sound enginner boy has them,
I’m expecting his feedback any time. However, initial feedback is good.
Loving the amazing quality you give out just found you
Immense thanks.
I originally got that standard shokz and hated the the back band catching of clothing,or headrest in cars etc.
Swapped them out for the shokz mini and they are brilliant.
Still as comfortable but the band is just that bit closer to my neck so doesn't get in the way.
I've just turned 40 😲 and quite fit but decided to start taking up running.
These will help massively as I get bored easily 😬
great video, thanks for the review! Do you prefer the Open Run or the Open Run Pro?
Very helpful point that the Mini are really "standard" and the standard are really "large". I have a large/XL head, but using Shokz size guide, the ear-to-ear dimensions are firmly within the "Mini" size. Just about to hit the "Buy" button during the Black Friday sales.
I see your focus was on running, but just a thought for cyclists - as your head tilts up slightly during cycling (unless you're riding one of those huge Dutch bikes), the issue of the band hitting the neck might be more problematic during cycling. Have you used them during cycling?
Good review. 8 3/4" between my ears. Mini should fit. Like the reduced bulk concept. Am I giving up a much improved sound quality, by not getting the Pro version, though?
Thanks for watching. The Pros are good and dare I say it, with the snugger fit, the minis seem to enable better sound transmission. Two professional sound engineers have tried them on since and are impressed.
Would have been nice to see how they fit with a cycling helmet on.
I have the titanium and the mini. I find for gym work the minis are better as they don't push out of place when lying on a bench. I've given the titaniums to my wife to use while at work. If I need antother pair they will definitly be the minis.
Just a quick thing...when i opened mine from new I thought they weren't working after fiddling about foe ten mins or so I realised that the battery was dead! There was nothing saying "charge before use" in the instructions but to save you the ten mins probably worth checking the battery life before anything else!
Seriously mate! It's pretty much standard that any battery operated device needs to be charged before use. Do you really need instructions to tell you that? 😂
Can people around you hear what your listening to when you use this kind of headphones? Like when you use it in the gym?
Hi, Do you know how can know what is the size in my openrun buyed?
I just bought the mins, and i have been thinking the exact same thing. The mini size is really standard and the normal size is definitely large. I'm 95 kg and 190cm tall. I think the company has f..ked it up with there sizing and need to resize all there models and also make a smaller size then the mini for those with actual small heads. I would never buy any other then the current mini version, add that the extra waterproof rating. The open run mini is really there best model to date.
Also, may I ask. Do you stream from your phone? If so, how do you hold the phone so it doesn't flop around as you run? Thanks
I do. I’ve got a Joby that I hold.
They should call these regular and the standard ones large. The standard size doesn't fit well on the average head size. The 2 centimetre over hang at the back is annoying.
Have you watch a video or a movie and try to fast forward? Mine doesn't fast forward. Thanks
What happens when you lie down with these? Seems like the connecting band will push the sound conductors off the proper location. Also concerned about others hearing the sound for privacy and annoyance reasons.
Measure them please!! Just showing them on a head without knowing his measurement by the shokz guide doesn't help
99% of people should just get the Mini.
AGREED! or they should call this standard and the other ones large
yeah.... they just released the openrun pro mini conveniently after my return window closed for the standard openrun pro.
@@distantyahooThanks for your comment!!! Didn't know that was an option. Was deciding between opencomm, openrun mini, and openrun pro. Mic and comfort is important for me, I'll get the pro mini.
Sorry, made in China?
