I never knew earphones like this even existed. I hate having earbuds inside my ear and I struggle with earbuds constantly coming out, definitely going to give these a try.
Oh I love these. I have open run pro and they are the best thing. Neither over head, nor in ear , the best! Audio quality good, sweet proof, you can cruise and run and walk and good back up!
I've used Aftershokz, now Shokz for over 6 years. They are my go to head phones. I'm in Information Technology field and they are perfect for work. I can hear when people come up to me or the phone rings but still able to listen to audio throughout the day. For air travel I only use these paired with earplugs that makes the sound is louder. They upgraded from a miniUSB in titanium to magnetic plug in Aeroplex, now OpenRun to allow for water resistant. After rebranding seems They dropped the included earplugs and second charger which stinks.
I've had the original AfterShokz Open Run for about three years and love them. I put them on when I wake up and take them off when I go to bed. They're so comfortable that I forget that they're even on. I just ordered the Pro because I'd like to be able to duel pair it to my laptop as well as my phone.
Mark, I've been watching your tech review videos for years and your style and production has come a long way. You strike a great balance of being informative and personable on camera. I really enjoy your videos even if it is about a product that I wouldn't normally be interested in. I just want to say thanks, and i will catch you later. Peace ✌️
Compares well with alternatives. Water resistant, hear the world (dangers, wife, etc), make and receive calls, get messages from heart rate monitor, quality tough build, etc. Fair price. 'Too steep' implies overpriced to me, and they are not overpriced. I don't have them yet as I couldn't afford them in light of other costs (eg deter cats from our garden). Daughter getting them for me as I've been digging her garden and helping with diy
They’re bone conduction headphones. I have frequent ear infections and these are the perfect headphones. Great for people who don’t like headphones in their ear. Also, you can use them any time except for flying.
I think if you are in to music, don't buy this. If you're in to podcast, audiobooks, and talk much on the phone and it is no problem to over pay for a simple product, go a head. I purchased this for 187 euros. I will never listen to music on them. I need this for work.
Overall, above my earpiece, I have this similar brand. They only complain that I have is when I sent a text it sends out loud bang. Does anyone else have that issue? I'll try adjustment on my phone volume on the Bluetooth volume but still get the loud bang
hi, it seems that with my OpenRun Pro Mini, the "digital assistant" function triggers on my iPhone, but the mic on the OpenRun Pro Mini doesn't work with Siri.. it only works with the mic on my iPhone..
Kind of a late comment. But one difference between the mini and the pro is that the standard one, and the mini, are waterproof, and the pro is not. The pro is water resistant, not waterproof.
Thank you for the information about how the experience is on an ebike. I plan on using these on an ebike. Glad that you can still hear it even at higher speeds. Thank you.
Thank you for your honest review. I once had an Openrun that was really suitable for running. Its sound quality and wearing experience were both good, but its waterproof level was not high, which limited its usage scenarios. I like swimming, boating, and sometimes going surfing, but it is not suitable for these scenes. Therefore, I switched to a Wissonly Hi Runner, which has IPX8 waterproof and MP3 mode, it is very suitable for underwater sports. Of course, it is also suitable for running, cycling, and hiking
Very informative and honest review. I've been looking at these for cycling headphones but not sure if they're going to sound good enough. Getting older and hearing is getting worse.
Also older and hearing loss. These are brilliant as they bypass our old, hairy ear canals. Plus you still hear loud traffic when on bike. With loss of hearing in the ears, we also lose sound quality. While these might not match £hundreds hifi headphones, they do make for better, clearer sound for us older folks
These headphones do not sound anywhwre close to how good airpods or other headphones sound. I wanted them so I could play my VR games while listening to music and I wanted to listen to my VR audio as well. I love it so much! I can finally listen to music while playing VR without disturbing the neighbors. In fact, I just love the fact I am able to listen to my surroundings while having my music playing in the background. I am truly in love!
I love the performance especially that i prefer to hear my surroundings when i am listening to music or podcast. I don't care much about the bass, so that was never an issue. HOWEVER, it triggered my VERTIGO, after on and off using for a few consecutive days, i experienced dizziness. after i stopped using it for 5 days, i stopped experiencing dizziness. I hope it will be a different experience for you. So as much as I love it's performance, this is not for me. Too bad, im unable to return it where i purchased.
I bought this model, and I have some problems with this headphone 1- single or double click has the same beep, and while listening to music, it is a bit confusing 2- headphone ergonomy is very bad for wearing a hat in winter or lay down on the pillow and same bad experience with bicycle helmets 3- There is no auto switch off system. If you forget to turn off its work to drain all of the battery juice 4- I miss the piroxymeter sensor. This device does not have any system or hardware to know if you are wearing headphone or not 5- There is no option to turn off welcome and battery level voice assistance
I bought mine today OpenRun Pro.. didn’t know there’s a mini version. I got it from the airport store. Can I send it back and request to get the mini version because I have a smaller head?
Welcome back to New York, Mark. See you’re in the Hudson Park; might I suggest the High Line when you get a chance. I guess Shoks is still trying to make the bone-conduction headphones a thing. An nice alternative though. I could see these in a work setting, like construction or factories.
It was good to be back. Yea those type of work setting would be good and I just used them for a tough hike yesterday. Didn't have to worry about them falling off as I did some climbing.
Damn this is a blast from the past! I remember this channel from way back when. Reminds me of last week whilst getting an oil change, sitting in the lobby and seeing Jon4Lakers on the tv 😂
I sensed genuine review within the first 40 seconds. Thank you. Been looking for great audio music sound with the ability to hear the environment around me at the same time. Will check them out.
I believe the OpenRun Pros have a design flaw...I ordered a pair for work and found that they randomly turn off on their own...I tried to re-set several times and then changed from my Iphone to my Samsung...the problem still persisted...afterwards, I did an exchange for a new pair and found that the same problem persisted...tried re-setting and both phones...I also tried using it with my wife's phone and the issue was the same...hopefully, Shokz design engineers will read this post and put out a software update to address the issue
Great review. They sounded good in your demo and I couldn't hear any wind noise. I just ordered them, looking forward to not having anything in my ears or covering them all day. You got a like and subscription from me! Update: I’ve had these several weeks and love them. Comfortable and great sound, especially for calls, which is what I needed the most.
I almost went with these but was disappointed that the Pro model has lesser water resistance than the base Open Run. If the Pros had IP67 or 68 water resistance it would be a no brainer.
I'm a caretaker for a senior family member with mild dementia and his old blind dog. I love these things, I can sit at the computer or listen to music while I'm working around the house and still be fully aware of what is going on. it's great that they support multiple connections, the battery life is great, and I can take calls with them. This is in addition to how well they work for being out and about and exercising. The sound quality is better than I expected given reviews I've heard about sound quality. Don't get me wrong, they aren't IEDs or OEMs, but they're "good enough" to consume media at decent volume without making a lot of noise without giving up your awareness. I have some really nice IEDs that I use on occasion when I want to really "hear" something without blasting the volume, but these pretty much instantly became my daily drivers.
@@SoldierKnowsBestlong time fan! I really appreciate those words and yea, it has been a long journey and I'm glad you liked the video.
I'm really surprised at how low the volume is on the Shokz Open Run Pro S810 even at the highest setting. Very Disappointing.
can please tell me what the s810 meaning? what the different of the variant of that nunber? like s700, s900.. what does it means?
I've heard you can use a super cheap pair of foam ear plugs for Ultimate Noise Cancelling.
I want these, I just feel $180 is steep.

8:03 That doesn’t sound like the microphone of the Shokz, that sounds like the mic on the phone?!
Good review. Your audio sounded good with the headphones.

Don't believe any manufacturer that tells you their tech is waterproof. They can be more water resistant than other things, but never water proof.
skb, one of my first utube channels i watched back in the day! salute!

Use them nearly everyday, have had ear trouble with ear buds, these are a perfect replacement
You could use those on an airplane and just pair it with some earplugs
I have a set of them and don’t use anything else.👍
Stop the cap

Can I bench press with these things on? Does the strap on the back of the neck interfere with lying down on a bench or flat surface?
Thanks my husband gifted me a pair for Christmas. One thing they don’t sit snug to the back of my head like they fit you

Never had this problem
Getting rid of my hot sweaty in ear bose for these beauties...can't wait...
Thanks for the audio quality on the phone call that helps with decisions

It was the Insta360 X3. I did a video on it here. ruclips.net/video/lkYFsVSG_5o/видео.html
Dang that walking navigation idea is amazing 🤔

How about the voice receiving quality? Is it good as well in open areas? Thx
Bought. Got tired of AirPods mic not working and in my ear.
I will be ordering one this month
Hotdogs? You mean, meatloaf? 😂
Awesome review mate... just bought some 🤠👍
I just got a set and I love them... the best

How are they in a loud plant
I wish they had a larger headband too.
Thank you Sir! 😀
The sound quality is awful. Yes I followed all the reset instructions and they still sound like junk. what a huge waste of money.
Them are not made to listen to music. It is false marketing. Podcast, audiobook, phone calls yes.
Them sound worse then the cheapest normal earphones. Correct.
You didn’t mention if the headphones MP3 storage or not. I know there are ones that do.
Don't buy the hype, bone conduction sucks
In what way do they suck in your opinion?

What size do you have on? Standard or mini?
LOL did you not hear the dude on the moped behind you or did he not beep his horn? @1:13 🤣🤣🤣
He didn't beep his horn lol.
Sony Link buds are infinitely better
Nice video SKB, do you like these for longer hour use over wearing earbuds?
Definitely. Don't have to worry about in-ear pressure or anything.
Tried to buy these through your referral link but only US shipping 💀 I've been following you for like 10 years from Milano, Italy!
Ah that sucks, but appreciate you watching all the way in Italy!
Why do the open comm sound better than the open run pro 🥲🥲. Open run pro should be more dedicated to sound, but it sounds muffled on mine
