Springs Preserve is in the city of Las Vegas, which is located in the Mojave Desert. This is a late upload. I visited the Springs Preserve botanical garden in spring. COVID messed up my video editing schedule. Anyway, enjoy!
Thank u Anna for that interesting tour of the lovely desert gardens seeing cacti in their natural habitat is awsome. Iam happy to see u all well and recovered and continuing your videos
Thanks Ana for your effort and thanks for sharing. I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing it. Hello and thanks. I tell you again: I am delighted that you are well now 👍😁🌵🌸🌺🌴 Ciao Ana
Oh WOW what an AMAZING and very BEAUTIFUL Botanical garden Tour of Springs Preserve, so many incredible and huge big beauties, and all the Opuntia blooms are breathtakingly stunning, it would be a dream for Hans and me to visit there in the future, Thanks so much Ana for sharing your amazing visit and for filming to share with us all, it was so awesome to see all of these stunning cacti and succulents and they are all so beautifully displayed too, sending you lots of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER from Hans and me from across the Irish sea to Las Vegas for a sunny Tuesday XXXX
Thanks for taking me back to Springs Preserve Ana! Your video was super informative. I was in awe of their original desert garden and enjoyed the trolley ride through the preserve learning about the history of the preserve and Las Vegas🤍
This is really a great place!!! Would love just to hang out there and soak it all in!!! Very surprised at the variety of succulents there!! The opuntias are spectacular!!! Very awesome tour Ana!!! And I didn't know saguaro could grow there without some cover assistance like putting caps on them during cold. Thanks for the tour Ana, and for sharing!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, out to Las Vegas, have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌿🌻🪴🌹🌲🌳🌷🌴😃👍
How grand was that! WOW, some of the very big cactus must be 150- 200 years old and living In a natural environment. Thank you for sharing a grand tour of a very special place, Bill.
I can only guess the age of those mature ones but definitely, at least a century. There were even barrel cacti that I may say are close to that age, too. These plants are hard grown so they grow slower. For them to reach that size, it took many decades.
Thank you so much. I never tire of going to this place. They used to have a big spring sale every year but COVID changed their usual calendar schedule. Hopefully, they will be back in normal operations soon.
@@CactusCaffeine I just looked at some seed on Etsy but the postage from Canada made it about $30 😮 I'll ask John at the next cactus club meeting in October, he loves Opuntias 😄
Just found your channel, excellent tour of the botanical gardens I will have to visit next time I am in Las Vegas. If you are in the Phoenix area of Arizona you should stop at the botanical gardens here, really impressive. Tucson also has a really nice garde too.
Truly enjoyed this video, Ana! I love seeing plants native in a specific area and in their own habitat. Thanks for taking us with you. Take care and keep safe. 💚🌺🌼🌸🌵❤️
Great video, Ana. So many awesome plants there. Those Saguaros are impressive. Thank you for sharing with us as always. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜☕️
Thank you Edith and Daz. I love going to this place. But since it is outdoors, the weather has to be perfect, not too hot and not freezing cold. It also gives me an idea what plants will thrive in my own garden.
We’ve had plenty of cold days and rain in spring this year. Flowers are developing much later. When I was there last week, I only saw one or 2 cacti in bud. I think late April or early May will be when the flowers start showing.
I did not see any irrigation pipes or sprinklers. But I’m pretty sure they do supplemental watering during summer. We have not had a decent rain here in 2 years. Some of those cacti look too plump to just rely on our very rare rainfall. 😉

Oh! 😁 I was 2 weeks late. Yes, come back in fall. It’s too hot now to do anything outdoors. 😉

Trolley ride? I didn’t know they have that. Every time I go, I don’t see them. 🤔 You beat me on that. 😄👍🏼

Our plant sales are going to start again, this fall, October 1st. :)
Cor, looks like a brilliant place 😎 Like the Dagger Cholla 🙂🌵
Oh same here. That Dagger cholla caught my eye too. Spines look like paper than needles. I’m on the lookout for it.

Hi Ana! In my country, Albania 🇦🇱 doesn't exist any Botanical Garden with Cactus. This Garden is just a Dream. Greetings from Flowers Zone Albania 🇦🇱

We do irrigate these plants, they get watered once a week right now. :)
I was wondering the same thing.
