    Quit cementing and tiling over whole front and side yards. There is supposed to be a certain amount of green space for rain to filter into ground. That water with nowhere to go is going to come up in yours and your neighbors basement and flood the sewers and roads.

    • @NOT-A-Monolith
      @NOT-A-Monolith 2 месяца назад +1

      Roads here are permeable or porous pavement, is designed to allow rainwater to pass through its surface, preventing water from pooling and reducing runoff.
      This is cause by overflow, of sewers not draining fast enough,

    • @StarFyreXXX
      @StarFyreXXX 2 месяца назад

      @NOT-A-Monolith more regular green space helps a lot as well. Remove too much and sewers can't handle it.

    This is the result of deliberate mismanagement of the sewer and drainage systems.
    We've had stronger rains in the past, never had flooding, because there was upkeep.
    However, letting it all go in disrepair, gives the government something they can point at and say "Vote for this new tax/policy to fix this".
    They create the problems that they then use as leverage. Never forget that.
