I've got a wee cottage in Stromness. I adore Orkney. This is a brilliant wee video and I appreciated Grace's enthusiasm for her visit. Search Khyber Pass cottage if you fancy a visit. Everyone should visit Orkney at least once! Peter

Only just getting round to catching up on this! My TV that we only used to use for RUclips, gave up on life and so I've had to watch on my phone!! Better than not being able to :) xox

Thanks for sharing with Us. I grew up on Orkney and haven't been back in quite a few years. I It may have a rugged landscape but the people are friendly and welcoming. Glad you had a good time

"The weather doesn't know what it wants to do."
Yep, you're in Scotland. 😁 It's always funny being on here or on forums and seeing what other people pack for a hike, compared to those of us from Scotland who need 5 layers and waterproofs just in case even in Summer!

Lovely video Grace. I visited Orkney once very briefly when I was on a cruise a few years ago. We managed to visit the Italian Chapel like you did which was beautiful. We also visited Scapa whisky distillery too! The Old Man of Hoy looks amazing. If I'm ever lucky enough to get over to the Orkeny's again I'll definitely go see it.

I have never been across to Orkney but you showed a couple of wonderful highlights. I remember as a young climber watching a live broadcast as the Old Man of Hoy was climbed for the first time. Not able to contemplate climbing pretty much anything now it would still be great to get there and see this iconic stack. Your images were brilliant.

36 hours in Orkney I'd hit the pubs in Kirkwall and not get any further. Just not enough time to do anything that. Go a week at least and you'd still wish you stayed longer.

😂 can go to pubs anywhere, I saw a fair amount in my 36 hours and had a blast 🎉

@@GracesAdventures was referring to me! I've been visiting Orkney for decades. The people and the craic are nothing like you'll have encountered anywhere else. You did right to avoid them, they're a trap, you never escape 😂. Make sure you visit the broch at Deerness next time you go.

What's public transport like in Orkney? Pretty sparse, I'd imagine.
