Trek continue to lead the world in innovation. Congrats to them for having the kahunas to do so....
Their isospeed decoupling of seat and top tube was a real improvement in comfort, not a gimmick.
Their isoflow design looks like it may also add spring to the saddle, as well as whatever aero gain the marketing dept comes up with.

    • @helicart

4:44 tubeless will squirm / be dangerous way slower than a punctured clincher let alone a clincher / tub blowout! if at all. I have never had a tubeless tyre “squirm all over the place”, “massive nightmare” at any speed on the few occasions the sealant hasn’t either just worked or warned you of a puncture squirting sealant! The lower part of the seattube, could follow the curviture of the rear wheel, and meet the seat stays lower, would shield the rear wheel better, and probably less frontal area as well. The sharp edge looks like a stress rasier, might be better if the upper part of the seat tube is put more forward, where the seatstays meets with the top tube, and has more angle of attack there, same leverage, but but not so sharp edge.

Different (radical) design just for the sake of different design? I see more disadvantages to the new "iso-nonsense" then there are possible real advantages. First of all, the moulding process of the area will be immensely more complicated, and thus more prone to errors.
Only advantage is actually it "being different". But there were tons of bikes in the past that also tried to be radically different.
However, I find the rest of the bike pretty neat.

It certainly looks… expensive! In terms of looks, I think I prefer a more classic frame design, although this definitely has a very cool and modern feel to it. In terms of performance, I guess time will tell if this design catches on and is copied by other companies, or if it is replaced with some other gimmick next year.

Love the design but I'm worried about the seat post strength and flexibility in rough roads and bumps.

Me too. I don't think bike designers realise bikes can go over bumps. I wish you were working for them to tell them.

Why are you worried? You really think Trek would just produce a bike without testing and research?

@@edrcozonoking You mean like Canyon and their handlebars that screwed together and ended up breaking once they went into production and people began experiencing failures?

Heaven knows how stable the seat pillar is . .... ??? Only way 2 make that really stable would be 2 Epoxy it in place .. maybe they have some F1 trickery going on ???

I love my Trek Émonda but that new Madone is about as sexy as a bike gets! 😳

not sure about aero gains cause you kind of want that rear wheel well hidden behind the frame but it seems like that seatpost area has something to do with stifness and the way energy/watts are being translated from crankset back to the cassete, perhaps smaller power loss and better way to apsorb the road bumps

Given current supply chain issues.. this'll be available for general public in 2024.. at a £10k price point..
I can't even get rubber frame grommets for my cube let alone buy a new bike.

4:29 What kind of clincher tire doesn't squirm all over the place when you have a puncture?

TLR tires are heavier and stiffer wide walls. I’d feel safer on TLR over light clinchers. With u in that
