    Fire punch was my first manga and is one of my favorites. But making an anime/movie will take a lot.of work and also a lot of dedication. The cgi is also another thing. But a major thing is the pacing, I think 20 episodes will be good enough to portray everything ( all the emotions and beautiful moments).

      @Kyle Smith to be fair, Fire Punch doesn't have much background but snow. so they'll all have to focus on Agni.

    • @extremehyperventilation4377
      @extremehyperventilation4377 2 года назад +29

      @@n6v6y snow will probably be CG, like in demon slayer, but better cuz mappa does amazing CG backgrounds.
      However, background artists don't do animation, so the problem with animating fire is still there.

    • @alan_7390
      @alan_7390 2 года назад +13

      @Kyle Smith Not really, the problem with Endeavor is not with his fire, but with his armor design, his fire has always been drawn as just lines that are then textured over.
      Mappa has Satoshi Sakai, animator of all effects like dust, explosions and fire from SNK season 4 (almost all of the first opening was actually done by him), so I don't see why they couldnt just make it, that dude dreams with fire while draws it even being sleeping.

    I think fire punch would work as a movie series. I think the story is to big for one single movie, except the movie is really fucking long, but depending on the length of the movie and pacing two movies or a trilogy could work. But I think an anime with a really good cinematography should also work. The most important thing for me, when adapting fujimotos work, would be, having this cinematic feel that one has while reading fujimotos works.

    I'd love to see Fire Punch faithfully adapted, but the main problem would be its faithfulness because FP themes are so heavily cinema inspired with many direct references to movies, they would have to change the names which might sound odd and off putting, or spend loads of cash aquiring the copyrights. Correct me if i'm wrong on that b/c I'm just assuming anime would work the same as regular film in terms of copyright

    I questioned myself if Fire Punch could be a movie and I think it could be possible. They could take the Ichi the Killer live action adaptation route where they adapted up to 10 volumes of manga in a single 2 hour movie. They would definitely have to make some omissions but I think Fire Punch could work. Or they could go the Berserk Golden Age trilogy route and tell it within the three acts of the story. This could also work and Fujimoto might add more stuff into the story like he’s doing with the Chainsaw Man anime.

    I think if there were movies made of Fire Punch, you’d need at least 3 movies. Just the first arc (start to the fight in the city) would be a single movie most likely, or at least that would be the most logical place to end the film. You could theoretically go further than that arc, but because Fire Punch has a lot of genre switches throughout its run, fitting more than just a single arc in a movie would very quickly confuse the audience.

    Maybe 2 movies with a 2-hour length could work. A single 12-episode season would fall incredibly short, seeing that CSM S1 will cover up to half of Vol.5 at best. So probably a 24-episode season or 2 12-epsiode seasons could work better, but thematically I'd like the movie format more.

    Fire Punch is for me really hard to see in animated format. Not because of the action and the pacing and stuff, that is actually really well made for adaptation. What worries me the most is, and people that read Fire Punch know this, the story and references. It's really hard to get a grasp at the story from the beginning, unlike most animes. Just when you think you understand what Fire Punch is about, Fujimoto hits you with a curveball from another country, literally. I'm personally really excited and looking forward to it. Although I am a bit skeptical, as it is such a hard work to adapt.

    Fire punch is my favorite manga. It hits so hard. The best words I can use to define it is agonizing, painful and extremely depressing. I just feel like the story is very real for the world it's built in, Fujimoto didn't hold back punches on this story. I mean, he never does; characters die a lot, people get tortured, abused, EVERYONE is extremely complicated and no one is really good. Everyone's is just as fucked up. The saving graces are some people that deep down are good in heart despite the insanity of this world, like Togata. He's (and yes I will call Togata by he because Fujimoto pretty much screamed that Togata is a trans man) absolutely my favorite character of the entire manga, when he died the manga just lost so much, but the story kept going, because it's not here to entertain you, and even if it felt empty without a director, and it never got better ever since his death, the story keeps going, because that's just how it is in real life. People come and go all the time, but our stories keep going.

    Cut to two months now,The response csm is receiving,I can tell atleast for the next 5-6 yrs the idea of even thinking it would be slim to none ,and if somehow someone in mappa thought ,cut csm we are starting to animate fp now,there might be chances ppl will not like it that much after first 25-30ch.(can say the first season)because the story after encounter of ice witch just becomes hard to digest,i think you people also got confused atleast one time on thinking what is real and what is imaginary, personally after Agni suddenly killed that fire guy ,the story was escalated quickly after it and my eyes were wide open which binging those 20-25 ch.

    Making it like kizu-monogatari would work but its also a bit of an unrealistic expectation considering this is a work that never actually appealed to a wide audience before fujimoto exploded into success.
    Don't get me wrong, I have been a fan for more than half a decade but it's a bit absurd to think any studio would even consider this with it pretty much having no chance of pulling majority of normal viewers. Monogatari is an exception made possible but the quality and quantity of that series is overall higher

    Whole heartily i don’t think people can handle fire punch. It’s great, but I’m not sure how most people will honestly think of it.

    If FP would be adaptable in a anime version probably is gonna be a ramake and not a literally adaptation like in chainsaw man,
    why? because FP was the first work made by fujimoto and it's full of unnecessary nonsense, of course it has several cool ideas and very deep analogies to our reality but still there's a lot of nonsense that fujimoto just did to make things funny, and these things are the reason most people give up on reading this manga, but if we take those parts out and focus on the main story it is possible to make a very good and touching 12 ep anime

    Good luck MAPPA, good luck animating a dude that is constantly on Fire all the time, *without CGI*

      They have 4 options. Do it the traditional way that would cost them alot of money. 2 just use the same animation over and over again. 3 be lazy and make the fire stand still. 4 Don't care and do CGI

    It's made by the same author that made chainsaw man so that should tell you how good it is. Too bad it only went on for 83 chapters. It was a rollercoaster of emotions but it nailed the ending which is hard to say for most manga ending.
