Then why does the video not focus on crime, but instead on protests, which is our first amendment cherished right that dictators prohibit immediately. Protecting our own is what White Supremacies, fascists, militia, Proud Boys, vigilantes, and folks just looking for a fight (especially if it's 10 on 1). That's not moral values nor is it supporting "law and order." It's cowardly mob rule. There's safety in following the mob, it can even be thrilling. It's great being positive we're always on the right side of exactly 2 sides, best settled by violence instead of wimpy, boring negotiation, reasoned discussion, and compromise.

I remember a film clip from the summer of the BLM and Antifa riots. One of those groups was walking through a small town. Their streets were lined with men holding guns watching them walk through their town and the message was clear……don’t mess around here and keep walking. The men holding the guns were completely silent and their guns were pointed at the ground. Those who support the rioters hate it because it completely negates their tactics and message. This is why we need our second amendment. It is a deterrent against tyranny. Love all your reactions Brittney.

Britt was talking about small towns and the difference when you looked at the environment in a much larger urban city. In the small town I've lived near since my family moved there in 1966, you figured it out fairly quickly. The Deputy Sheriffs knew your neighbors, your parents, most of the grandparents, and didn't have to go screaming down the road in their cruiser, they just drove to your families place and talked with your parents until you wandered in... oops!! An old friend of mine built a tube frame go-kart with a Briggs & Stratton engine he put on it. He used to go ripping around the neighborhood until he saw a cop and he'd zip off on a side road and disappear. This worked about twice. The third time, he laughed when he thought he'd out run the Sheriff's car and headed for home. When he came around the corner, that white cruiser was sitting in his driveway and Deputy was talking with his mother!! He know the jig was up and slowly pulled up past the cop and said "Hi" to his mom. That didn't cut it at all. She told the Deputy, "I'll take care of this." She told her son to park it in the shed and go to his room. She sold his go-kart and he rode a bicycle for the next couple of years. That was small town living in the sixties & seventies.

Hands down, the BEST reaction to this song! And you hit the nail on the head, my friend. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with race or political opinion. It's about having each other's backs!
I'll give you an example from my personal experience: I live in a town of around 6,000. We're 48% white, 39% black, with the remainder being Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc.
A few years ago, there was a 30yr old black guy who stopped on the highway (4 lane, 65mph) to move a piece of debris so that nobody hit it & potentially wreaked. A young white guy was driving along & hit him. He died on the way to the hospital. State Police determined that the driver was NOT on his phone, was NOT speeding, & there were skid marks showing that he tried to stop. It was just a horrible accident. BUT, the driver made some racists comments to his friend via snapchat. The friend screenshoted them & posted them on Facebook. The town was in an UPROAR! People were talking about protests & possible violence.
The man who was killed owned a barber shop. But it wasn't in great shape. His family needed help to keep it going with him gone. The entire community came together to completely renovate & update his shop. Local businesses stepped up & donated flooring, equipment, etc. Local contractors did the work for free. When it was finished, they threw a huge grand reopening & community wide BBQ.
The racist little twerp who hit him...he was basically run out of town. He left the STATE. He was made well aware that he wasn't welcome.
THAT is small town life. We go to the same stores, the same Churches, movie theater, bowling alley. Our kids go to school together, play ball together, take ballet together. You don't get that in a city. THAT is what this song is about!

I was raised in a farming community outside of a small town and, if there was any trouble we took care of each other whether it was a field on fire or a family that was down on their luck that needed food, we took care of our community ❤

Martina McBride did a song called "Independence Day" - if you don't know it, take a look at the B&W official video. Then explain to me what Jason Aldean's grandpa's gun did to help that family. "Some folks whispered, some folks talked, but everybody looked the other way." Then, rickybobbytexas, please explain exactly what Jason Aldean's grandpa's gun did to help Ahmaud Arbery. Young black man out for a run, and three Georgia crackers hunted him down like an animal, for sport. Wouldn't be surprised if one or another of those men used their grandpa's gun to shoot him dead. How 'bout that small town where some college kids in upstate NY went in the wrong driveway, and got shot, one of them died, as they were backing out? How did Jason Aldean's grandpa's gun play out in that incident? I could go on, with innumberable examples. He's singing about "We better not see you here when the sun goes down" like it's a good thing.

Their main focus in this song was about the building in the background being a sight of a lynching that took place in the 1920's -1940's (don't have exact date) , but they don't mention the fact that several events and movies without issue i might add, have used that same site because it doesn't fit the narrative they want to push.

Nothing happened in Columbia during the riots because our community knows that riots only hurt our fellow neighbors which in turn only hurts ourselves. Riots are pointless and unacceptable in our community. We are spending time, money, and effort to renovate and improve our town. We have community events where everyone is welcome and everyone enjoys being together. We help our neighbors. We don’t destroy their homes and livelihoods, and when somebody else does we stand up against that act. I live in Polk County, Florida. Two years ago, groups came into Lakeland, Florida, with the thought to do exactly what Jason Aldean is singing about and what the video portrays. Our Sheriff, Grady Judd, the entire sheriff's department, and the Lakeland police department shut down their intentions. Then, when it got reported that they planned on going into the neighborhoods, to individual homes, and creating havoc, our Sheriff [Grady Judd] got on TV and made a statement. He challenged them to try. He said I tell my citizens to have guns in their homes and if you go through the door, they are to send you back out the same door you came through and we won't even question what happened. No second guessing. They will defend their home, their property, and their families. We support them. NOT ONE INCIDENT was reported. They left town. Try that in our small town.... Try that in our county.... You may go home in a body bag.
As a note, the courthouse site where this was filmed also had movies by Disney, Hannah Montana, and a Hallmark Christmas movie were filmed at the same location, but those projecting that this is racist did not protest those movies but is using this video in an attempt to divide. True story of small town reality... My brother and I were traveling out of town, and stopped into a small town bar, complete strangers to everyone... Everybody we met was polite and gracious, and we both were polite and respectful in return, and we were both fully aware of "Small town mentality"...
Then it all hit the fan....
One of the locals, drunk off his butt, and whom neither of us had even stood up, spun the bar stool my brother was sitting on and, in a drunkenly slurred voice, made a comment about my brother's long hair, and sucker punched him.... Unfortunately for the local, he failed to fully connect, but my brother "Connected" fully with his response, knocking the guy completely out cold...
    Then it was on...
The whole town turned on both of us... We were the "Invaders" and "instigators" attacking them, and needed to be removed...We were now the "Bad guys in town"... We had to fight our way out of the bar... We had to sit for a couple of hours in the police station, but were never arrested... They eventually let us go, with no charges filed...
Fortunately, we were sitting close to the cash register... Close enough that the whole incident was caught the bar's security camera, which was pointing at the register... Proved that we were just minding our own business, having positive interactions with other patrons in the bar, and not looking for trouble until trouble found us... Apparently, nobody had anything bad to say about us until after the "drunk" introduced himself...
Unfortunately for us, word got around town that we were being released, and we were met with what could easily be described as a mob, surrounding our truck... Probably about 20 people in reality, but to us it looked like hundreds of people... My brother and I were thinking, "Here we go again"...
We very soon found out, things were not as bad as it looked...
Word had also got around what had actually happened... That we (More specifically, my brother) did not start anything, and that we were only defending ourselves... The mob was actually there to apologize to us for what had happened, and they even invited us to attend some celebration party the town was planning a few weeks later... We graciously accepted the apologies, but politely declined the invitation to come back...
The "drunk" who started it all, who apparently had no charges filed on him by the local police, and who we declined to press charges on, was in the mob, and he apologized too... My brother and I got the distinct feeling he was only doing it out of "Peer pressure", like the other people in the town made him do it, but we both shook his hand and accepted the apology anyway.
The owner of the bar even offered us free drinks if we wanted to go back there, but we politely turned it down too, opting instead to hit the road, and leave on a good, positive note... We silently just wanted to get out of there before anything else happened...
As for the drunk, I have no idea how often he drank, his situation, his story, or anything about him other then how he acted that day... My brother, who has since passed on, and I let go of any judgement of him as soon as we got out of town... We never had any harsh judgement on the town people either... They were, except for the actions of one, all good people who had the back of one of their own, and when they got the whole story, they went out of their way to try and set things right... Can't argue with those kind of values...

We lived and worked in 3 small towns, each quite different for two decades. They each had lotsa community spirit, people never locked their doors, but in each there were NEVER any incidents of RESIDENTS TAKING THE LAW INTO THEIR OWN HANDS nor was that glorified like in this song! Residents WERE concerned about REAL issues plagues these places that hadn't elected a Democratic in 150 years. Real issues like HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT, LOW WAGES, YOUNG FOLKS -- THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST -- ALL LEAVING, THE MEDIA MAKING FUN OF US AS LOSERS AND TRASHY, BOARDED UP BUSINESSES ON MAIN STREET, HIGH OBESITY RATES, CORRUPT POLICEMEN. Federal and state funds poured into these areas for empty regional, airports, empty rural highways, main street building renewal, and economic redevelopment, but nothing ever got better (meanwhile the pro-rural legislatures in these three states starved their big cities). Then the meth and opioid (now fentanyl laced pot) ravaged these towns since we left (NOT GANGS OR PROTESTORS). Both cities and small towns are full of good, caring people, not vigilantes or rioters (like the media distorts constantly). This song divides us by portray NON-PROBLEMS of suffering and dying small town. For example, Texas has long been the MOST URBANIZED STATE POPULATION but pretends its so folksy. There's no North or South anymore, only COUNTRY OR URBAN (ALL big cities ONLY elect Democrats) and the biggest migration wave today is Blacks moving back to Southern States to ESCAPE RACIST POLICE.

As a girl that grew up in an extremely small town - i can say from the homework I've done on this video is 4 writers wrote this song - Jason wasn't one of them. Then for the video - there are people who look for the area to film. They were approved for this place. Jason and the band were just told - show up at this location to film. So- they did. They were glad because it wasn't too far from home.
So as that girl from an extremely small town - i can say that every word was correct.

I disagree. If you know anything about Jason and his wife, they are as right wing racist as they come. They are not raised up right. They don't even know what the Civil war was about in my small north Georgia town. They think it's about southern pride. And the cops, if they don't like how you look, expect to be harassed. I wish I had your optimism but our freedoms are being taken little by little. Do you know what happened at that church they are filming in front of?

Thank you for making those points.. I'm from Los Angeles County. I am Mexican-American and I'm living in the epicenter of where gang banging was invented. From Latino street gangsters who eventually become South Siders in County jail and graduate to the Mexican Mafia in prison, the. Bloods and Crips. Becoming a gangster is not a victim of racism is a choice. I'm a successful man who had the same chances who grew up with those people I just mentioned. I have several childhood friends who grew up to be hardcore criminals. But that was their choice. No one forced them to commit robberies and murder people. Everything is a choice. We live in this great country. But we take it for granted. I believe we (Americans) are one of the most ungrateful people in the world.

Agreed, people here are so spoiled and have so much, but they're greedy, and all they want is more. In a University town in Missouri, buses full of people came to March. They were met by a sheriff who told them they were welcome to protest, but warned that they should not turn violent. These people, he told them are good people. But they are armed and have a right to use deadly force to protect life and property. The marchers marched around the town square twice and got back on their bus and left. It took about 7 minutes. They made their point, as they have a right to do peacefully. They remained peaceful, and they left intact. They seem to only get out of hand in cities where they know the mayors will ask the police to step down, and where prosecutors will not prosecute them.

@@tomemig7465 As all other protestors in America do! Are peaceful. Yet Trump ordered his goons (no name on them unmarked uniforms) fire rubber bullet and exploding grenades at a 100% peaceful crowd. Horse-ridders rode thru the crowd, too, the clear the street BEFORE THEIR PERMIT had expired, all so Trump could walk across the street to a church so he could hold a Bible upside down. American Nazis rioted and yelled "Jews will not replace us" in the middle of a peaceful demonstration in Charlottesville, VA (Trump: "There were good people on both sides."

It wasn't that long ago that even NYC was a "small town." Right after 9/11 people took care of their families, they helped their neighbors, they cried and offered prayers together with strangers. Fire fighters and police were the heroes and we ALL supported them. Patriotism was at an all time high, Love of GOD and Country was everywhere. Today we are under attack, just as deadly and even more insidious. In a small town it is each person's responsibility to make the space they are in what they want it to be. It's time to make EVERYWHERE a small town once again. Loved the reaction. Thank You.

My father, part of the greatest generation as a marine, had 5 daughters. I was the youngest. He taught each of us to handle a gun safely by the age of 8-9 because he was a hunter and he never put a weapon in the safe without a through cleaning. I knew how to take a rifle or pistol apart and clean it properly long before I learned to shoot. Lesson number one: Take care of your weapon and it will take care of you. Inherited some of his grandfather's weapons. They shoot beautifully. I don't use them, but do fire occasionally on rotation, when I go to an outdoor range to make sure they function properly. I have several gun safe in our home. My husband was raised similar to me. Our boys don't enjoy hunting but learned to respect the weapons in our home. Like me they rotate different firearms and your favorites at an outdoor range every other weekend. Respect and take care of your firearms and if necessary they will take care of you. We lived in large cities and enjoyed most; Houston, TX, Miami, FL, Memphis, TN, Charlotte, NC. My husband's job offered him in a small town close to the small town where I grew up. Our boys were preteens. I couldn't resign my 6 figure salary job fast enough for the opportunity to raise my teenagers in a small town close to relatives. One is an engineer designing car updates for a major automotive company. The other had a car accident in a rainstorm coming home from college his freshman year. His car hydroplaned and hit another car head-on. His air bag failed to deploy and he suffered a massive traumatic brain injury. The neurosurgeon tried to convince us to let him die because he would be in a vegetarian state for life. He brought him home in a coma after 6 months. At 9 months he started showing signs of alertness. He has been classified as in a minimal state of consciousness for the past 9 years. It will be 10 years in September. He hears fine, turning his head if we call his name. He watches TV if his wheelchair is close to the 65" TV. He chuckles at funny programs. A friend from elementary school is an optometrist and is testing his vision with machines they use on young nonverbal children. He laughs at comedy shows. We haven't done this alone we have had the help and prayers of friends, family and unknown community members that have dropped off food and prayed at churches we didn't even know. He is now clearly saying mama, dad and bye. We would have never hoped he would have recovered even this far. For those of you that understand medical conditions, our son's injury was classified as a Glasgow 3: death. Later a nurse told me as they pushed his stretcher from the OR to ICC they were talking he wouldn't survive until they noticed when they said he was going to die, he shook his head slowly no. One nurse told us much later they became a Christian because of Chase’s determination and faith God wasn't done with him yet.
