Reminds of the Death Wish movies. 1, 4, and 5 are with Kino Lorber, 2 is with Vinegar Syndrome and 3 is with Scorpion Release. If you count Bruce Willis remake, that’s with Shout Factory

It does mess with my OCD a bit because I prefer an entire franchise to have a similar aesthetic. However, I organize my music and movie collections alphabetically so when I step back and look at it from a distance I enjoy seeing the diversity

The hole on the side of 'Basket Case' is because in the UK, we used a red tag system in stores like hmv, which slid through the case and under the disc. If someone tried to open the case without the case being removed by a magnetic detagger, it would snap the disc in half.

I organize mine alphabetically, so different labels are irrelelevant to me. What does get me is either A. multipacks with movies that have nothing to do with eath other (I usually just toss those after the Z's) or B. when the sequels have unique titles.
NOTLD is a great example. That goes under N. But then the sequels Dawn, Day, and Diary - all D's, but not together. Then Survival - under S.
Child's Play is another. 1-3 is easy, but then they ceased calling them Child's Play. Now it's Bride Of Chucky, Seed Of Chucky, Curse Of Chucky. Do you throw those after 1-3 and ignore the alphabetization? Put them all under Chucky? Or have them all over?

  • @doll_boii

I sort my movies alphabetically, and then in release date order for sequels. I keep my DVDs, blu rays and 4k separated but still maintain the alphabetical and chronological order

  • @jshain4117

I try to keep mine in alphabetical order with sequels next to the first so I hate when the title of the sequel is different. The one example I can think of that I use to have before buying the bluray set that had all three movies was the Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans

I keep franchises together according to my favorite franchises. With Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Halloween specifically, I have them in small plastic tote baskets on both sides of my TV stand.

  • @DapperManDan

This doesn't bother me so much as I tend to keep all my movie series together.... and when it comes to older independently produced horror movie series where several sequels were released through different distributors even theatrically, I totally see how the rights issues can become a factor and why different boutique labels end up releasing certain ones and others don't.
I will probably never be able to get the Second Sight released Dawn of the Dead Blu-ray/4k set since at the time of its release I didn't have the funds and looking over the features there were only a few new ones that weren't already on my Anchor Bay 4 disc DVD set.... and though it's DVD, the picture quality and transfer is phenomenal on that set and my blu-ray player upconverts it nicely. I just couldn't justify spending the money on the 4k/Blu-ray set... as much as I wanted it. But who knows, maybe one day I will find it at a decent price on the secondary market.

  • @TonyThompson1981

Watching through some of your older videos, and you brought up a subject here that I've been thinking a lot about.
How do I organize my movies?
I have (according to my CLZ app) 2866 movies. And I organize them all alphabetically.
I've tried by genre, by director, ect. But alphabetically just makes the most sense to me.
But here's what I've been racking my brain over. Years ago, when I got into Blu-Ray I shelved them separate from my DVDs. And now that I've upgraded to 4K, I just put those with my Blu-Ray. But I'm getting a new shelf and I'm thinking about reshelving everything together. Mix in the DVDs.
I don't know why that idea sounds good but at the same time makes me insanely nervous.

  • @FightTheGoodFight.

I like all my movies in ABC order. Mine are all stored in large cabinets with doors, so I'm not worried how they are displayed. I don't see a point in keeping movies together by boutique label. I guess I'm more interested in the films themselves, not the companies. Slipcovers don't mean a thing to me and I throw out all my J-cards.

I am probably different than everybody. I don't go with visually appealing or labels together at all. I have like movies together and keep horror, Halloween, tv series, all seperate. I will take vampires, werewolf, witches, mummy, all together right next to each other and when in the mood, I go to the section I am in the mood for. Also will keep Vincent Price, Karloff, christopher Lee, etc. together as another example. I find what I am looking for refresh what I need to get quickly and easily.

The evil dead issue where army of darkness is all by itself. And imagine having to move the whole collection around everytime you get a new movie. It would be here for days trying to tile a months stack of movies that way. Idk how people w big collections manage that.

Another one is Silent Night, Deadly Night. Things start out ok, with both parts 1 and 2 (Garbage Day!) available from Scream Factory. Parts 3-5, however, are not only put out by Vestron, they're all packaged together in a single case, which looks weird on the shelf next to the others, but at least its a money saver.

I’m just happy as long as we get good stuff. As long as they do a good job and entertain us, I’m a happy fan. I’d love if they would have all movies from one series on the same label, but sometimes, rights issues don’t help the cause you know? I was so happy we got the Friday The 13th movies and Halloween movies in their sets. I’m just hoping we get Elm Street next yr.
Yeah the issues with that one person who is holding rights for Dawn of The Dead hostage because he’s greedy just makes me sad. We can’t have one of our favorite movies out here like it should be because someone is being unfair. Just sad.
Ty for the videos Christian. I appreciate you making the content. You always do a great job and keep it up please!
Oh one more example. Sleepaway Camp is out but we don’t have Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 because of an unknown issue.

Although some boutique labels do look nice on the shelf stored together, I just alphabetize all of my films. It is so much easier to know what you have and what you don't. We have some franchises that can't get all of their sequels released...THE HOWLING..., so if any company wants to jump in with a blu-ray or 4K, then go for it. I have all three of those Basket Case blu rays! All solid transfers as well, probably more than those weird movies deserve. Kinda stupid Maniac Cop 1 doesn't have a 4K yet, it's like copper compared to gold next to the MC 2-3 4Ks. Creepshow 2 was released by Anchor Bay on DVD in the 2000's and then Image Entertainment picked it up for a DVD/blu ray re issue. The different labels for the sequels don't infuriate me, it makes it more unique and interesting. When you look at Arrow's Creepshow 2 compared to Vestron's ROTLD 3, it's interesting to see how differently each one handles things.
