Thank you, just what I needed. I can't make friends with my sewing machine and end up with what I call 'rustic' stitches lol.

I'm watching this now in 2024. This video very relevant. I have a basic sewing machine and I have always been more than a bit dubious about sewing on paper. Now I am going to give this a go. ❤❤❤😊😊😊 thank you, Angela. PS I have a separate machine for material.

Best tip ever - using the reverse to alter the stitch length! Genius. Lots of good information, loved this video. Thank you heaps.

Thank you Angela! You are such a great teacher!! I have a super fancy sewing machine so I would just like to add my opinion that unless you have been a seamstress for quite a while, I would recommend a simple sewing machine just like Angela’s! Much less to go wrong and simpler to operate!! Listen to Angela as her instructions/ tips are wonderful!! Also, no matter what type of machine you have, a review is always helpful!!💕

Love how you do your ending videos, showing completed pcs. of your work!!! You lay out things so beautifully, Angela!!!! I started sewing, mmmm, probably, about when I was 7. My mom, bought me a, sml. Childs, hand, crank sewing machine. She showed me how to, make clothes for my, little dolls. She would use, brown paper bag or news paper to draw, the patter on for, the dolls clothes. I would like to still have that little sewing machine..?? Through the yrs. I made my own school clothes. Then design some things later on, through the yrs.. Then yrs. later, I got into quilting & made a # of them. But now, I haven't sewn in yrs. I've wanted to revisit sewing & enjoyed this video. I like seeing, sewing on paper!! But I enjoy doing, card making. Had a dry spell w/that, but there's a group of us card makers, that, just started to get back together (because of what has been going on, around us all, in past few yrs.). Your an inspiration, Angela!!! Do take care. Fl.

Angela like you I’ve been sewing since I was 5 years old and I thought I knew it all but you’ve proved me wrong! My eyes aren’t as good at focusing any more so my lines are wavy but using your tip for laying a tape guide on your machine is great.i substituted black electrical tape for the washi so I could see it easier and I’ve got a much neater line. Thank you so much for sharing this helpful video Angela. Much love and hugs 😎🌺🌸🤗😘💖😅

Jean, I was brought up seeing my mom behind the sewing machine cos that's how she kept food on the table. So the result was to buy my twin and I each a Singer machine to keep us busy and out of mischief.
I can't remember how old I was when I started sewing but it was at a young age, just like yourself.
I also thought I knew everything about sewing on paper but nope, I learnt a trick or two watching Angela's video.
It's cool to have friends who share their knowledge with one eh.
Happy sewing my dear friend 🌸❤️🌸

Great tutorial Angela. I've sewn most of my life, plus I was a curtain seamstress. Now I'm very lazy in using my machine. I really need to organise myself and prepare all my tags in one go, as once I start crafting I'm too lazy to get up and sew a couple of tags...lol.

Such an informative video, Angela and very much needed. I have a new machine that I bought because I wanted to start sewing my journal pages. I just love that look! I've been having a difficult time with the tension of my bobbin. It gets tangled so trying to adjust it tends to be frustrating until I get it just right. Great tips and so useful! Thank you for sharing! 💗😊

I just got my first machine for paper sewing and this is the best video I've seen! I am having problems with an embossed cardstock I'm trying to sew, the thread is pulling out of the needle and I'm stitching without thread and the cardstock is tearing. Do you always have to hold the 2 threads when you first start sewing? I see some people holding them and others not at all so I don't know what I'm doing wrong? If you could give me some advice it would be great!! Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, Angela! I've had a love/hate relationship with my sewing machine, as it frequently makes a rats nest of thread on the back side of what I've been stitching. Now I realize that my tension setting was way too high, and possibly my needle size is incorrect as well. 😱 Time to get out the old dear and see if we can make adjustments that will allow us to become crafting buddies going forward. I do like the finished look of stitching on tags & journal cards, so its certainly worth the effort!
    Best, as always! 💐

Do you know, if you hold the little slot open, when you put the little spool in the machine after threading it, it holds the thread inside the spool so it will not fall out, but then you have the little slot as a handle,it makes it easyer when you put the spool with the tread back inside the maschine. 😃🙃🤲🏼💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

Debbie, it sounds like a tension problem. . Try turning your top tension dial to a lower number to reduce the tension. Check you have threaded your machine properly. Do this with the presser foot up. Tension is engaged when pressure foot is down. Hugs and smiles 🌷☺️💗🌸🦋

This is what is listed as the sizes HAX1 65/9, 75/11, 90/14, 100/16, 110/18 (50 PCS maybe you could help me figure it out. Haley, I can help you here. The smaller the number, the smaller the needle. So 65/9 is the thinnest needle and 110/18 is the thickest in this pack. The one I would choose here is the 75/11. Every country has different options.
