I will admit a part of me does miss actual big food and feasts. Dangos are fine, but it feels like they would barely tide you over :P
I've never had one irl but someone told me they can be made out of all sorts of things including meat. And they are infact pretty filling. But it is a bad idea to eat them every day you will get sick. Im all for japanese culture in monster hunter but THEY HAVE OTHER FOOD CAPCOM PLZ. Ah well what can ya do. But yeah I definitely prefer the big meals of world
Dangos are usually very filling and can have all the nutrition you need, but if I'm going to be honest, having to constantly eat dangos will make you kill yourself. It's the same extremely filling stuff with similar texture. I honestly miss the traditional meals, because it adds a lot more personality than the children's food and songs in Rise.
Well at least it isn't fondue cheese dipped meals like in generations. Nothing like going on a hunt completely constipated from why to much cheese.
That why we carry well-done steak.
Well their small size make them easily transportable, which explain why we can eat in our tent while on the hunt. A bad for a good if you ask me.
I will miss the Meowscular chef. He'd give you meat even if you ordered salad.

I was wondering why there was a bonk noise, thought it was a drum joke sound effect. But it was Leeroy hitting his head on the meat to eat it. Also, looks like he is pecking the meat with the detail of the eyes on the head piece.

Dango is convenient and the preparation is showy, but a hunter just isn’t a hunter unless they devour an entire banquet’s worth of amazingly rendered meat-based food before each mission.

Having only played World and Rise, it really is a shame seeing all the massive effort that went into the food buffs in World to "let's toss dango onto sticks". World did not have to go as hard as it did with the food and yet I'm glad it did.
The other games before World like 4 Ultimate also had real kitchens and it was somehow satisfying to see your kitchen improve with new cooking animations. I don't really get that from the Dangos. They got boring very quickly.

The dango is much easier to understand but also highly visually unappealing.
When I first got into it I thought "ok rice stuff, must be giving us rice dishes with meat and veggies"
Then they do the stupid song and dance and give me what looks like ice cream on sticks and a cup of tea and I'm just left disappointed.
We've had a hot spring and drinks before, people only see each game in a vacuum as if we wouldn't get another one, having something different than meat for once is great for variety

The Palico and Palamute flawlessly and effortlessly dodging every single dango while the hunter is dying is making me laugh more than it probably should.

While I do love rise.... coming from World where you get an IMMACULATE dish of meat, veggies and fruit... I was, less than happy to find out the only thing you get in rise is essentially candy..
Yeah, dango is fine and all, but I’ll just keep with my heaping bag of rations and self made supply of Well Done Steak, thank you very much sir. Nothing beats the old fashioned cook out in the middle of nowhere, timing it right for that age old line as you thrust the steaming drumstick of glorious goodness high in triumph. Such is the joy of a monster hunter.

Dangos and rice snacks in general are very hearty and can definitely make you feel full, but I imagine after eating mostly dangos it can get very sickly
Forget sickly, imaging developing an allergy to rice, and you're trapped in a land where rice is the only thing to eat that doesn't need you to run out, kill something and throw its flesh on a BBQ spit.

I'm over dangos, MHW spoiled me in all the delicious ways our hunter could eat before a hunt. Now it's just, "Oh, here's a light snack." we all know the Grand Meowster would not have a single bit of this dango business. Here here for hearty beef stew!
I was waiting for someone to bring this up. I start to feel physically sick watching my character eat nothing but dango. The meals from previous games made me feel jealous and hungry, but at least I felt satisfied and it made sense for them to eat stuff like that before a hunt instead of a dessert… I miss it…

Also dango is just rice, they're not automatically a dessert, it's a snack. You can mix whatever ingredients you like to eat rice with.
