Thanks to the algorithm, your video popped into my feed, and what a pleasure it was to watch. I'm going to complete and IKEA unit shelf build, all a bit daunting. 😮

Beautiful - shorter than The Deerhunter and stands up to re-watching. Really inspirational.

Your film noir segment reminded me of a typical opening scene from the “Inspector Morse” series. Perfect!

    Hi ,
thanks for the videos, i enjoy the content,
miraculously my attempt at the shuttle wiring worked first time! (that's all my luck used up.)
I'm very inspired by your and your contemporaries micro / shelf layouts. If only because layouts this size stand a better chance of being finished by me! and as a new modeller i can practice different themes and techniques on each layout (rural / urban etc)
i have a question about track i have urban layout in mind and planned with Kato track (your fav!?) but the cost difference between that and 3 lengths of flexitrack is considerable, its (and i have some experience of the joys of FT) but would appreciate your insight, thanks Mark.

Thanks very much for the kind words. Appreciated. Regards the track versus...Flexi track is considerably cheaper than Kato but is quite challenging to lay evenly and symetrically to ensure good running in a micro layout. I built a jig for 'Underwood Tunnel' for its flexi track (there's a video!) and that worked but weren't easy. It all comes down to patience and your enjoyment of different aspects of the hobby I think. Personally I'm not a fan of track laying so Kato really does do it for me. the current layout 'Musgrave Hill' and the ubiquitous 'next' one both utilise Kato track as it's easy, suitable and works well for me. But ALWAYS do you! After all 'RULE#1!' is a code to live by! Best wishes! Jules😁👍🌍🚂

      Hi Jules
didnt see your reply until i returned from the man cave on sunday (missing lumps of hair and in a bad mood for a sunday evening ) having spent most of the afternoon tinkering / struggling with FT; if i calculate my time at £15 per hour then FT is NOT the saving i smugly thought it would be on Sat morning!! still its all a learning game. i look forward to the next post.Cheers Mark@@smallworldlayouts

update.. after stressful Sunday i v nearly bought £80 of Kato track, i percevered with FT and finally got something sorted last night!! MAJOR success,
one more piece to go then we are onto scenics (the joys of no points)
Just thought id mention these two channels/videos in particular that use a folded fig 8 loop to create seemingly more than one line in a v small layout space,
this way works and (not spam) schmuck804 (its an old vid 13yrs ago but worth scrolling) where are you exhibiting this year? Regards Mark
