- Just sharing my thoughts on the MiniBrute 2 along with some sound demos. It's dope analog synth for folks new to synths or those with plenty of experience.

Right on man. After watching this chill straight to the point vid, I have no regrets, my mini brute 2 is coming soon and I’m excited. Can’t wait to make some chill ambient tones.
Dope, thanks for watching!
This is a great video honestly. This really helps a potential buyer here.
Thanks for watching!
I personally don’t think anybody could find a better synth for the price of the MB2. I’ve had the MB2S for 18 months or so and it still surprises me every time I sit down with it! I’d say the 2S is almost worth the asking price for the sequencer alone, it’s fantastic! I’ve got a few more semi-modular synths since and it pairs really well with others. Cool vid man, a new sub here for thee, peace ✌️
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I actually use the 2S more than the regular 2. The 2S is a permanent part of my setup and has been for quite a while. Really cool synth.
Was just messing with my Brute and thinking, "how can I smooth this out"? Google sent me here and you nailed it. Appreciate how clearly and quickly you demonstrate!
Thanks for watching!
Just got one of these bad boys, it’s nice to see a video showing someone playing the keys a bit instead of just setting arpeggiator going and messing with it, I get the feeling this synth has some really big dirty sounds that are full of harmonics, can’t wait to get my head around modular synthesis but it’s nice to not even need to use modular if you don’t want to
Nice, lots to explore with this one, enjoy it!
That joint sounds good. That low end 👌👌
Yeah bro, the smoothed it out a bit, I can dig it lol.
the shape sliders don't seem to push into overdrive at the center like they did on the original. I love the S2 but i'm also very happy I didn't get rid of the originals
Thanks for watching
Mines coming in tomorrow so I'm watching every vid of it on RUclips lol
Hahahaha nice!
Same
Great review, quick, clear and to the point. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
the thing is nuts you can use an envelope as an oscillator btw
Good job. I'm buying one. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Tom Ashby Me too! Good job. I’m stuck between this one, The Grandmother (by Moog). Same but Moog makes it $800. Messing with the the module is what separates it. Why did you not get the 2S? The sequencer is SICK but I have the Arturia Keylab 2 which has a midi CV out and Brute has a midi CV in.
@@adamjcohn Thanks for watching! Really depends on the sound you're going after, they have different tones imo. The Brutes are definitely a bit more aggressive sounding overall, but either synth can be used to make some dope sounds! I really dig the Grandmother personally, but I will admit I am a Moog fan, though, I had the Sub37 and sold it, it was a bit too aggressive sounding for my taste (generally) so it's really about what you like. Good thing is, there are tons of options out there!
@@SoundsAndGear I feel you on MOOG. You'll be hard pressed to find any analog synths producing sounds better than Bob's legacy but we already have a Voyager, a mint condition Mini fully tuned and mint so I think it would be less for no reason. The Mininbrute (and I actually dig the arps and seuncer) has a distinctively different but really good soud and that low end is wonderful. I also like that you can mix all 4 waveforms. Good stuff! Great demo. You sold one at least for them.
@@adamjcohn Yeah for sure, you're covered indeed!
Its a bit pricy but nice piece of gear. You have the case above I see. Are you going to put some modules in there?
Thanks for watching. As I mention in the vid, I currently have the Behringer Model D in the case, cool little package.
$499 and it’d be a steal. Still fair for what you get.
Man that Triangle for bass, is dope!!!
Thanks for watching! I love using Triangle for bass, more than a Sine wave personally.
Yeah this is nice I mix it with the mother 32 for some really Phat bass sounds
Nice combo fam!
this or Korg Monologue bro? How the keys feel on the Mininrute? Thanks
Haven't used the Monologue so I can't compare. MiniBrute keys are fine.
Minibrute2 keys feel better than the monologue
@@matthewevans3718 Went with the Monolouge, and iam happy Thanks
@@Paradroidx wish I got to play one more often it’s a very cool synth
@@matthewevans3718 It is, but i do agree the keyboard could have been better built. But the motion sequencer, and audio inputs make up for it
How those keys feel? Deciding on 2 vs 2s
I don't have a problem with them., they feel fine. They aren't the most amazing keys but they aren't trash lol.
@@SoundsAndGear You got a vid on the Granmother?
Yeah I did a couple I think
@@SoundsAndGear I am having a hard time choosing between those 2.........
@@Rustik1722 For me Grandmother over MB personally, both sound and layout. Really depends on the sound and features you want.
Nice synth but no patch memory is a deal breaker for me.
I hear ya, definitely not the one if you want patch recall/storage.
Why is it a dealbreaker? Most all analogue mono synths lack patch storage. Better get used to that.
Haut Strange Monologue, SE-02, Bass Station 2, Minitaur etc. all of these synthesizers have patch memory. Among big manufacturers only behringer and arturia are still making synthesizers without patch memory.
Stars Like Dust and Moog.
Sorry for the late reply but if you use a computer daw for recording there's a free vst called snapshot that you can actully take a picture of the synth and drop snapshot on the track of that synth and even write notes in it! Very useful for these kind of synths to recall the sound you made for that track with a preset less hw synth I use it all the time!
You have barely a clue what you're doing with the brute-factor I think? Thats okay. Neither did I in the beginning. Read the manual :) :)
I've been using the Brute series since the first one, have had every one, you can use it however you wish.
Why would you go for a semi modular if you are into smooth sounds? Especially with the Eurocrack addon? So much wasted potential. :( I'm sorry, not ment as a diss, but it had to be said.
So....Semi-Modular can't sound smooth? I have a Model D, pretty smooth, Moog Grandmother...pretty smooth, both are....semi-modular. Thanks for watching lol.
