Patio Pete was just completely out of pocket. You serve a customer an ice cold slice of pizza, the customer complains about it, films it, then you kick him out, and take their pizza that they paid for instead of trying to make the situation right. That's why he got so much hate, it was the way he went about it and his demeanor. The guy single handedly destroyed his employers reputation they had built over 14 years in under 30 seconds where it could have easily been fixed with a simple, "I'm sorry, let me get you a fresh slice." No excuse for Patio Pete to treat any kind of customer like that ever, the customer is always right.
The place is a late night establishment. The customer is not always right when late nights and alcohol are involved. But Patio Pete still acted like a dick.
My girlfriend took me to that exact location three years ago and my slice was exactly the same way. So.. at least around that time that is exactly how your pizza was.

The interaction between Goodfellas owner and Dave is exactly what America is all about. Neither has to do this show. Local guy doesn't need Dave. He sells giant slices to drunks. They make new drunks every day. Dave doesn't care about local shit anywhere. However these 2 chopping it up. Goodfella standing by his dude. Taking the 0. And fighting it and doing better. Make lemonade out of 🍋. Dave giving them the time. Being honest. And Goodfelllas biz is going to explode!!!!!

Most slices are hit and miss outside major cities. There just isn’t enough foot traffic to pump out enough slices for it to be both reliably hot and profitable. My favorite local spots usually have pretty gross slices. That’s just kind of how it works: you gotta order a whole pie for the good experience. Although, half the customers, believe it or not, don’t care at all about the temp of their pizza.
