I think Item Stories is a nice recent mod to add some realism to the game. It spawns items on the floors, tables, and on top of furniture, following a logical association between the items spawned and the type of room and building you are in. It makes the game feel more like a zombie apocalypse (I believe something like this will be added to the game in B42)
Watch out because trying to balance loot spawns with floor loot can be very tricky! It also doesn't play too nice with Brita's, it likes to spawn guns in places they don't belong.

Hey Mr Duck! Cool video. And cutting fruit and leaving to dry is actually exactly how you can dry fruit in the real world without an appliance! The trick in the real world is getting them to dry quickly enough, while protected from wind blowing the slices away, and protection from animals.
@@MrAtomicDuckwhile we're on that topic, there are various ways to dry them without appliances to give different textures and taste (like in a well ventilated shed away from sunlight vs directly under the sun), and you can do the same with seafood.
On The Door is one of those mods that feels more like a bug fix, like Loot Tables Fixed or Snow is Water, it adds something that 100% should have been in the game already. I love Barricaded Start. It is funny if you spawn in a bigger building and getting the extra loot on spawn is a tiny bit OP but it's just so on theme I can't play without it.
The OCCULT ZOMBIES mod is kinda okay for a minute, but it creates and issue whereby the occult zombies dont have loot on them aside from maybe underwear so if you depend on or use zombies for loot collection for purses, fanny packs and such that contain weaponry and other items, this will cut into that pretty drastically.

I found on the door a bit ago and I like it, the idea someone was fumbling to get into their car but didn’t make it in is great. Not for them of course.

I have noticed with it that there are often sheets on the interior doors, but no big deal free extra rags.

I have to correct you about the „on the door“ mod. In vanilla you don’t have to search anything after getting into the car either. The only thing this mod changes is that it notifies you that you found the key. The rest is vanilla behavior
I thought that sounded crazy, to have to get in the car, then lock the doors then get out of the car lol. I didn't know anything about it anyway though. I play with all the cars unlocked. But I never knew you could find the keys in the door. Still a cool mod

Not mod related, but I'm waiting to get back into Zomboid. I've been following updates and really excited for all the new features for Build 42. Have they updated the game much lately? or is it just going to get the big update once 42 is ready? I played when 41 dropped, and is the game basically the same right now?
I was a little bummed they decided to hold back for a big 42 update unlike how they trickled out 41, but someone mentioned that those little updates constantly broke mods and caused a lot of headaches and extra work. Made sense to me, I remember a few broken games back then.
I 2nd that. Brutal Handwork. It requires Fancy Handwork I think it's called, and that adds animations for opening doors and flipping light switches and stuff like that. I won't play without it.
I've been playing with secretz for long time, one of my favorite map mods. I feel like I didnt understand the difference between base mod and secretz pandemic. What are they?
Still waiting for a mod where only groupes or hordes of zombies can damage doors and walls. Bit silly that one zombie can beat down your whole defenses.
As the others have said, you can, but there will always be risk associated. It's important to check the workshop page for the mod in question to see if it can be added part-way through a playthrough.

25 seconds into the video and I said to myself. Hopefully one of the mods will be one to flip the cleaver upside down. She's gonna slice her hand open with it like that!
im combining the 2023 mods with the 2024 mods thanks.
Not mod related, but I'm waiting to get back into Zomboid. I've been following updates and really excited for all the new features for Build 42. Have they updated the game much lately? or is it just going to get the big update once 42 is ready?
I played when 41 dropped, and is the game basically the same right now?
Vanilla yes, but with mods on the other hand, there have been loads of different mods coming out since build 41 was released.
I was a little bummed they decided to hold back for a big 42 update unlike how they trickled out 41, but someone mentioned that those little updates constantly broke mods and caused a lot of headaches and extra work. Made sense to me, I remember a few broken games back then.
I saw Predz dual wielding weapons the other day. Is that a mod or another feature Im unaware of?
Brutal Handiwork adds offhand and unarmed attacks.
I 2nd that. Brutal Handwork. It requires Fancy Handwork I think it's called, and that adds animations for opening doors and flipping light switches and stuff like that. I won't play without it.
I think spawn in louisville is the best mod
Til you can pick up grave stones.
Can you please make a video about how to not have this game run so bad, I have an i9 12900k and a 4080 and struggle to get 80fps consistently
I've been playing with secretz for long time, one of my favorite map mods. I feel like I didnt understand the difference between base mod and secretz pandemic. What are they?
Too much map mods imo but thx for putting em all together
I’m going to get my bah-ha blast one way or another
Still waiting for a mod where only groupes or hordes of zombies can damage doors and walls. Bit silly that one zombie can beat down your whole defenses.
Can you give me a good list of all good map add-ons as I just got everything I can find and….made a mess
If the radiation zone mod had more loot than would be awesome or else you probably have no reason to go in them.
always crouch so you level them agility skills
Can you add a mod to a game that is already several months in play?
i dont think that would be a good idea, it depends on what the mod changes.
Depends, you should use common sense or you can always ask the creator in the mods comments. Many mods also answer it on their mod page somewhere.
As the others have said, you can, but there will always be risk associated. It's important to check the workshop page for the mod in question to see if it can be added part-way through a playthrough.
some mods you can, but anything that changes almost anything about the world has the potential to break your save
Anyone got a Mod list containing a fair amount of mods but not too overboard?
You can find car keys on doors!!! 🤯
