- This video showcases the Ultimate Hyper Sonic mod in Sonic Frontiers. Hyper Sonic now changes colors and is playable in the Open World. Along with that he has several new combat abilities including the Hyper Flash from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Chaos Meter, Chaos Blast and more!

While imbalanced the new combat abilities look insanely sick! Guess it is Hyper Sonic afterall. Vs the End you get like a quick flash dive move and then there's a white chaos blast burst. Love all the effects on the held boost, spindash, etc. Looks fantastic.

Honestly, Sega really needs to look at the MASSIVE Hyper Sonic mods and fanart and realize just how much people want him to come back.
Super Sonic 2 still wasn't bad, but Hyper is what we really wanted
I don't care what SEGA says, Hyper Sonic is the transformation that defeated The End.
Headcanon is that the Master King's trial re-awakened Sonic's Hyper Form, albeit in a way that it wasn't meant to be and has stability issues. It's still plenty useful, but still has kinks that Sonic needs to iron out.

Insanely OP, but it actually gives the feel of how exactly MUCH more powerful Hyper is than Super or Super 2
We need a mod that allows you to use all of Sonic's forms in frontiers while also allowing ground travel.
the enemies who had the sad misfortune of crossing Hyper Sonic's path: I only saw a strong white flash coming towards me and after that... I didn't see anything else... I just felt a lot of pain...

This Mod is perfect for those who have finished the game and just want to fool around in it.
Let me theorize a bit here, we know that the reason why Hyper Sonic haven't come back, is because sega doesn't wants to go the power creep route that dragon ball took, making older transformations essentially useless, that's why Sega sticked to Super Sonic for so long, only introducing other transformations that can only be used once and are weaker than Super Sonic (Darkspine, Excalibur, Werehog).
Ian Flynn stated that he wanted to bring back Hyper Sonic for the final boss fight in frontiers, in fact, sonic would become hyper sonic in a very, very similar way to how he becomes Super Sonic 2, however sega didn't accept for the power creep reason, and you can notice that it lacks something, this game feels off, Super Sonic has much more protagonism and relevance in this game, so Super Sonic is playable not once, but even 4 times before the final boss fight, and then... you use Super Sonic one last time, against the final boss... It made sense that Ian Flynn wanted to introduce a STRONGER form for a STRONGER boss, however, that obviously would create the power creep situation explained above.
So, after this being explained, then why Super Sonic 2 exists?, a form that is not only implied, but is clearly stated to be stronger than Super sonic, it's even labelled in the game files as a higher level of the Super Sonic transformation, it's the first time that sega broke their own rules, and it's the first time we get something stronger than Super Sonic since Sonic 3, and the key is here, maybe Sega is testing how to bring Hyper Sonic back, and they are doing it in the exact same way it worked back in Sonic 3.
The Final Horizon route works as the Hyper Sonic route, it's not obligatory, actually it's optional, yet it is the canon route, so, we get a form that is stronger than Super Sonic, but we don't leave the poor guy useless, stating via the regular ending (thought not canon) that Super Sonic could beat the bad guy if he needed to.
Maybe what they did with Super Sonic 2 on the Final Horizon is testing how to bring Hyper Sonic back and how would the community react to it or maybe they just wanted to stick to the Master Emerald requirement to pull him out in a future game where the Master Emerald/Angel Island gets more relevance, the only thing that is clear to me, is that if sega continues in this route with future games, we eventually will get Hyper Sonic back
Personally I don't see what the concern was. It would only make sense the Ancients have the ability to draw out the full power of the Chaos Emeralds, that way it's not something that affects the series going forward because Hyper Sonic is still limited to specific circumstances. And honestly in some of the other media like the Archie comics Hyper Sonic would make more sense for the peak of his power. How does Super Sonic both lose to Dark Oak in Sonic X and also beat an omnipresent god like Solaris? Super Sonic seems to essentially be however strong the writers want him to be in that moment.
Please for the love of God tell me the cannon name for it isn't super sonic 2. I've already enough of people endlessly comparing it to super Saiyan.
But anyway I really hope they do eventually bring hyper sonic into the mix. As others are stating it's peak sonic. What they could even do is take the Persona approach. How the protags ultimate persona was drawn out by the overwhelming inner power and was then only used to finish off the final boss. BUT then in new game plus you were able to use that Persona during gameplay. It would canonically show that he's capable of using such a power without implying that he can just do it whenever, as we know that during regular gameplay in many sonic games super(and hyper) forms is more of a reward for earning it.
@@BleedingDaze01 The canon name of Super Sonic 2 isn't yet known, it's just called "Super Sonic 2" in the game files, theorically it's just the Chaos Emeralds at full power, ironically, Super Saiyan 2 lore wise, is just the max power of a Super Saiyan 1

Though I will admit it's an interesting concept considering when it comes to super forms I'm used to the basic super sonic. I'm pretty curious on what they plan on doing with this in the future and seeing how much stronger it is than super sonic 1.
@@BleedingDaze01 Probably Super sonic 2 (i checked the wiki, and is also called Starfall Super Sonic if it makes you feel better) is also one time thing since it used Sonic's Cybercorruption as fuel, unless they reuse the Cyberspace or the Ancients topic for future games.
Super Sonic 2 is very cool conceptually, but if they really want to keep him around, it would limit the chances of seeing Hyper Sonic back, but probably we will see new Super Forms just like in the storybook era games and unleashed

The only Sonic game that showed hyper sonic was sonic 3 & Knuckles but it would be awesome if hyper sonic appeared in other Sonic Games too. 💙🦔💙

Can you transform back into base Sonic with this mod?
There's supposed to be code you use with Cheat Engine to transform back. On the mod page it sounds like it's still be worked on for v1.41 of Frontiers. So short answer I don't think so atm, least I was having problems. Unless you use Sora's mod (but then you fly alot)
@sonicovertime Right. I see. I was hoping eventually someone would make a mod that let's you transform from base into Super/Hyper and keep the normal controls as well. I love Soras mod but flying can be annoying at times. Thank you!
