Beautifully put, there are several independent artists out there singing about these topics but I think Ren's off stage vulnerability, compassion and genuine want to connect with people put him above the rest. God bless you and your wife. I've worked in geriatrics and long term diseases all my life. You are right we become somewhat immune because of the numbers of people and paper work that is demanded so the hospital can get paid per patient. There is never enough time in a shift to be as kind and understanding as we should be for the individual. All that I can say is how sorry I am if I ever treated anyone badly when my time was too short for their attention needs. It is way past time for society to correct the humanness needed to care for each other in need. Don't ever apologize for expressing what you are feeling in the moment. His wordsmithing at appropriate lines in the songs along with this talents still shocks me to this day. You really can't judge a book by its cover.

Big love, and I'm crying with you. Big love to your wife from a fellow dysautonomia warrior. I need to let you both know that it didn't take me long for this song to give me a huge sense of power. There is such power in not feeling completely isolated in the world, I went through decades of no answers before getting EDS/POTS//MCAS/dysautonomia diagnosis. It took music like this to allow myself to truly grieve for all the lost time with clueless doctors. But the tears this gave me were so healing, having this beauty come in the words I'd choose I'd I had the language and artistic power of these two. And I've used this music to drive conversations with doctors, so many of Ren's songs have been shared with and by my clinicians. He's offering the perspectives of patient misdiagnosis, frustration, fear, hope and trauma that any healthcare professional and anyone in allied health or support services needs to _feel_ to understand.

I don't even have space to list all my diagnoses, other than to say my list of acronyms is a whole book in itself. But in Ren's discord group I somehow found people with the same or similar alphabet soup and lived experience. By chance, through music, by happening to start playing The Money Game in the group. It is kinda magical. And glad we're all still here fighting and finding each other!
We both send our love and prayers to you as well. She too has POTS and hasn't been able to sleep on her back or left side without her BP crashing and passing out. Being bedridden for so long and lying only on the right means so many other health problems. My heart goes out to all of you suffering with this and the suffering that comes with it in terms of medical indifference. I'm glad that this music keeps you going as it does my wife and so many others. I think Ren himself is a form of therapy or a living embodiment of a drug that actually works. @@BemusingBill sending love and my belief it can get better. Ren is a form of healing, just feeling heard and seen is so healing. For me initially it was the music and the sharing him with close friends... then the people in the comments and finding my first diagnosis twin... then using his music to be an icebreaker with my psychologist and discovering she had shared him not only wroth patients, but with friends and other clinicians. finally joining his discord purely to observe The Money Game ARG competition and somehow opening up a bit in the chat and finding so many others with my diagnoses, and chatting with Ren and his friends about health and the funniest shite in life. Being able to be share my mini breakdown after a new diagnosis in the discord group, along with having people help me in real time through a scary adverse reaction to trialling a new medication that made me dissociate and instead of being alone with it having support not only with then directly monitoring me but talking me through getting to ED. Suddenly realising I'm not isolated. POTS is terrifying. To never feel safe that I could lose consciousness at any moment with BP crash. Three months ago I bit the bullet and purchased medical grade compression leggings. They've been the best thing for me. I now have 5 pairs and basically live in them. They help me so much, not only reducing things like hip dislocations, but reduce the crashes both overnight and when walking...horseriding... doing things I never thought possible. Supacore is the brand I have, because they're made in Australia so easier to get access to. Salt tablets have helped too. But if your wife hasn't tried medical grade compression leggings, I highly recommend finding some (after discussing with doctor of course)❤️❤️❤️
Just over 30 yrs ago, my niece died at the age of two. They did a post mortem but they couldn’t find anything. A few yrs later they nearly lost their second child at the age of 4 and by some miracle there was a doc in the ER who said he’d seen this before and that it was MCAS and how to treat it. He survived but was left unable to walk or talk. Today he’s in his 20’s with a younger brother, an amazing Dad, and a therapy dog. Anyway, this week I’ve read or heard the word MCAS more times than the whole of those 30 yrs. Blows my mind a bit after so long. Also it reminds me of my blessings. Love to anybody suffering today. Hugs to you and your wife. It's a terrible burden to be dismissed and forsaken by society. There is something about Ren's ability to emote that imacts our souls. His collaborative work with different artists always creates a synergy that is magical. For a younger version of Ren, please look into his busking collaborations with Sam Tompkins. Their song Blind Eyed was a major viral hit. It's deep but not the same gut punch. And for extra enjoyment team it with the angry car park attendant version which will make you laugh.
Some of Rens just hit that exposed nerve ,you don't have to be embarrassed for your emotion with the Renagades , many of us are in a similar boat to your wife or have other challenges in life . There isn't one of us who dosent have some empathy and love for mankind . Patients are patiently waiting for help…😵💫 Oh, I can relate, I have Multiple Sclerosis since 35 years now and it needs 22 years to get a diagnosis. I still stand on my own two feet for what I’m very grateful. But I struggled my whole life with ME, which is often a part of MS and other f***ing symptoms. I think it's amazing, how Ren can write a song and you know it is about his friend Joe taking his life, but somehow it connects with and means something to so many people. Please do " Chalk Outlines- live" i think thats probably my fav of them together. the harmony they have plus the topic gives me chills in the chest. Ren once referred to Chinchilla as his alter ego. Not sure what condition(s) your wife struggles with but I too am a long time cronic pain warrior with not the right path found to make me feel as best as possible. please let her know prayers are with her. unfortunately she is not alone. I so appreciate Ren for bringing his journey of invisible illnesses and the poor management of medical system to the spotlight. I think people are actually hearing what some of us go thru. Thank you for that. she has what's called dysautonomia. It's damage to either the nerve cells in the brain or the spine. It affects the parasympathetic nervous system so all the stuff that happens in the body that automatically controlled like heart rate, blood pressure, breathing etc. It causes POTS and tachy/brady syndrome, spastic colon, eyesight and a bunch of other things. Many long-haul covid patients are getting it too so it could be connected with a viral infection. No one knows for sure. I'm so sorry to hear of your suffering and really appreciate you sharing that. @@BemusingBill Oh No Dysautonomia I know that all to well.. It's part of what I suffer with .. I so understand. like Ren and many others I've been misdiagnosed and fighting the system for many years.. finally recently Elhlers Danlos (a rare connective tissue disorder) came to light and some of the many things I've delt thru my life now start to fit a bit. Only took like 20yrs smh. They say average takes 14yrs for diagnosis. However funny thing early diagnosis, treatments life management are key to keeping down damages of this currently incurable syndrome. I'm still trying to learn myself-its very complex syndrome and affects the whole body. I find that I have to try and educate most all my doctors (many as every body part is a different specialist) They just don't understand all the features of EDS & it's comorbidities like, the Vagal fainting issues & POTS, MSA,CFS,TMJ, orthopedic issues, degenerate spine and joint subluxations,gastro, voice, eye, cardio issues,BRAIN FOG, sensitive skin etc etc the list goes on. and believe me they don't want to hear it from me or let alone have enough appointment time to discuss if did. EDS Specialists are very scarce only few in the US. And of course all self pay. So for now it's just treating each issue when they flare or arise and ignore quite a bit cause just sick and tired of being sick and tired and it's one more Dr appointment. Have had to argue with well meaning PT therapists that some things telling me to do will in fact hurt me. It would be correct in a non-eds patient. I truly don't think it's as rare as they say. I believe drs weren't educated & trained properly to even remotely recognize. And perhaps if drs got together to discuss the patient as a whole instead all separate, people might start getting proper diagnosis whatever it may be. YOU MUST BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE. To top that off back in 09 i got bells palsy due to Lyme. That is painful effects ear, eye & vision, mouth, taste, talking etc. Unfortunately that became permanently chronic and since then have actually had another 2 attacks. So thats another ongoing therapy that dosnt really help. Enough of that, I think I just wrote a book of somewhat gripping. Sorry. Anyhow, the reason for my reply back is If you both are still not quite sure what all's going on. I suggest you might want to check the EDS Society website. May not fit for your wife but then again it just might give her some more answers. All the best to you both (Edited to add) and Yes Thank you for comparing to long haul Covid. I have used that before to explain what it's similar to. My hope is, as sad as it is to say, but my hope is that with so many having long haul (& pretty sure many haven't been diagnosed yet) that perhaps some more research will be done and perhaps a cure or at least some kind of real management.

Ren hits so many of my emotions. No shame in the number of times I've welled up sinking into his stuff. He doesn't just sing, he performs and feels every word (as do we). This track I even had a line tattooed as it hit home to me "Where is my God, where are you?". Words indeed and many of use can relate to those. But behind that for Ren, again about Joe, his late friend. Anyway, more importantly, thoughts with you and your wife, sorry to hear of that. Susan here. I listened to this song at the beginning of last year. My physical health had deteriorated and mentally I was not in a good way. I felt like I had lost me. It was cathartic to hear Ren and Chinchilla singing about this with so much depth that I could feel the words in the depths of my being. The amazing thing was that in that instant I reconnected with my inner strength, where I truly know myself. I had been considering asking my GP to prescribe me an antidepressant even though I have had bad side effects in the past, instead I listened to more music from Ren's catalogue. Thankfully my mental health has improved. I have had a chronic illness for over 40 years and the grief of what I have lost because of this had hit me hard last year. I think Ren's music helped me come to terms with this and enabled me to escape from the strong emotions I was feeling.
My heart goes out to you. You have the strength in you and Ren's music tapped into it. I've heard so many stories of how his music has helped people get through chronic illness and depression and psychosis. It's tru;ly amazing. I think that's what makes his genius so much more. As a person who suffers from PTSD after watching his wife suffer a massive stroke 9 years ago, I latched on to your story. It flips your whole world upside down and others don't understand how difficult it can be as a spouse and a caregiver. The guilt you have for feeling exhausted, lost, and fearful of the future while they are trying their best to recover takes a toll on you. Ren's music has been my refuge since I first came across "Hi Ren" in January. My favorite thing to do in my very little free time is to watch others experience each of these songs. It is like I get to do it all over again! Thank you for sharing your journey and my best to you and your wife. Stay strong!

Ren has spoken of and written about his struggle with s* ideation and it appears that Joe played a big role in saving Ren’s life in his darkest moments because he knew the pain of a devastating loss like that. I interpret the song to be about Ren losing everything to his illness and the fallout from it over years. Ren certainly demands emotion when he performs, one way or another. I relate to REN’s music because my brother has fought chronic illness since he was 5 when he was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease “still’s disease” in his early twenties that is incurable . I’ve heard him question God many times . It’s heartbreaking 💔 when we can’t fix our loved ones when they are broken . It's so hard to watch them go through their suffering and not be able to help. I've asked God, begged God to give me her disease and let me to take her burden so she has some kind of life. Fucking hell that broke me! My partner has a chronic illness and I have lived with chronic pain for the past four years, so I get you brother. It’s shit like this that connects humans and lets us know we are not alone.
First reaction of yours I’m watching. Subscribed. One thing people seem to forget: even when something is “only in your head“ doesn’t mean that it doesn’t affect reality. A simple example would be say a person is sitting on a chair, and you say “oh crap, there’s a snake“ while pointing under their chair. The person jumps out of their chair, no doubt their blood pressure flies through the roof, their fear levels get going, etc. Nothing is real, it’s all in their head, but the reaction and the stress factor their body is going through is quite real. I keep this in mind whenever a friend or a loved one is “stressing out over nothing;” even though I can plainly see it’s not real…
Been battling MS for 10 years now. Gone through some rough times. Hearing about your wife hits me. Seeing you crack hits me. My wife and i suffer from chronic pain every day. She has CRPS and i have degenerative disc disease in my neck and spine. We have our good days but then we have days like they described here. Perhaps being a content creator, reacting to meaningful music, lyrics and talent is the door that your trials are walking you through. God bless you and your wife. I've worked in geriatrics and long term diseases all my life. You are right we become somewhat immune because of the numbers of people and paper work that is demanded so the hospital can get paid per patient. There is never enough time in a shift to be as kind and understanding as we should be for the individual. All that I can say is how sorry I am if I ever treated anyone badly when my time was too short for their attention needs. It is way past time for society to correct the humanness needed to care for each other in need. Don't ever apologize for expressing what you are feeling in the moment. His wordsmithing at appropriate lines in the songs along with this talents still shocks me to this day. You really can't judge a book by its cover.

Big love, and I'm crying with you. Big love to your wife from a fellow dysautonomia warrior. I need to let you both know that it didn't take me long for this song to give me a huge sense of power. There is such power in not feeling completely isolated in the world, I went through decades of no answers before getting EDS/POTS//MCAS/dysautonomia diagnosis. It took music like this to allow myself to truly grieve for all the lost time with clueless doctors. But the tears this gave me were so healing, having this beauty come in the words I'd choose I'd I had the language and artistic power of these two.
And I've used this music to drive conversations with doctors, so many of Ren's songs have been shared with and by my clinicians. He's offering the perspectives of patient misdiagnosis, frustration, fear, hope and trauma that any healthcare professional and anyone in allied health or support services needs to _feel_ to understand.

I don't even have space to list all my diagnoses, other than to say my list of acronyms is a whole book in itself. But in Ren's discord group I somehow found people with the same or similar alphabet soup and lived experience. By chance, through music, by happening to start playing The Money Game in the group. It is kinda magical. And glad we're all still here fighting and finding each other!
We both send our love and prayers to you as well. She too has POTS and hasn't been able to sleep on her back or left side without her BP crashing and passing out. Being bedridden for so long and lying only on the right means so many other health problems. My heart goes out to all of you suffering with this and the suffering that comes with it in terms of medical indifference. I'm glad that this music keeps you going as it does my wife and so many others. I think Ren himself is a form of therapy or a living embodiment of a drug that actually works. @@BemusingBill sending love and my belief it can get better. Ren is a form of healing, just feeling heard and seen is so healing. For me initially it was the music and the sharing him with close friends... then the people in the comments and finding my first diagnosis twin... then using his music to be an icebreaker with my psychologist and discovering she had shared him not only wroth patients, but with friends and other clinicians. finally joining his discord purely to observe The Money Game ARG competition and somehow opening up a bit in the chat and finding so many others with my diagnoses, and chatting with Ren and his friends about health and the funniest shite in life. Being able to be share my mini breakdown after a new diagnosis in the discord group, along with having people help me in real time through a scary adverse reaction to trialling a new medication that made me dissociate and instead of being alone with it having support not only with then directly monitoring me but talking me through getting to ED. Suddenly realising I'm not isolated.
POTS is terrifying. To never feel safe that I could lose consciousness at any moment with BP crash. Three months ago I bit the bullet and purchased medical grade compression leggings. They've been the best thing for me. I now have 5 pairs and basically live in them.
They help me so much, not only reducing things like hip dislocations, but reduce the crashes both overnight and when walking...horseriding... doing things I never thought possible. Supacore is the brand I have, because they're made in Australia so easier to get access to. Salt tablets have helped too. But if your wife hasn't tried medical grade compression leggings, I highly recommend finding some (after discussing with doctor of course)❤️❤️❤️
Just over 30 yrs ago, my niece died at the age of two. They did a post mortem but they couldn’t find anything. A few yrs later they nearly lost their second child at the age of 4 and by some miracle there was a doc in the ER who said he’d seen this before and that it was MCAS and how to treat it. He survived but was left unable to walk or talk. Today he’s in his 20’s with a younger brother, an amazing Dad, and a therapy dog. Anyway, this week I’ve read or heard the word MCAS more times than the whole of those 30 yrs. Blows my mind a bit after so long. Also it reminds me of my blessings. Love to anybody suffering today. A big virtual hug 🤗 if anybody needs one ✌️ and ❤

For a younger version of Ren, please look into his busking collaborations with Sam Tompkins. Their song Blind Eyed was a major viral hit. It's deep but not the same gut punch. And for extra enjoyment team it with the angry car park attendant version which will make you laugh.

Some of Rens just hit that exposed nerve ,you don't have to be embarrassed for your emotion with the Renagades , many of us are in a similar boat to your wife or have other challenges in life . There isn't one of us who dosent have some empathy and love for mankind . Not sure what condition(s) your wife struggles with but I too am a long time cronic pain warrior with not the right path found to make me feel as best as possible. please let her know prayers are with her. unfortunately she is not alone. I so appreciate Ren for bringing his journey of invisible illnesses and the poor management of medical system to the spotlight. I think people are actually hearing what some of us go thru. Perhaps some understanding will follow suit
Thank you for that. she has what's called dysautonomia. It's damage to either the nerve cells in the brain or the spine. It affects the parasympathetic nervous system so all the stuff that happens in the body that automatically controlled like heart rate, blood pressure, breathing etc. It causes POTS and tachy/brady syndrome, spastic colon, eyesight and a bunch of other things. Many long-haul covid patients are getting it too so it could be connected with a viral infection. No one knows for sure. I'm so sorry to hear of your suffering and really appreciate you sharing that. @@BemusingBill Oh No Dysautonomia I know that all to well.. It's part of what I suffer with .. I so understand. like Ren and many others I've been misdiagnosed and fighting the system for many years.. finally recently Elhlers Danlos (a rare connective tissue disorder) came to light and some of the many things I've delt thru my life now start to fit a bit. Only took like 20yrs smh. They say average takes 14yrs for diagnosis. However funny thing early diagnosis, treatments life management are key to keeping down damages of this currently incurable syndrome. I'm still trying to learn myself-its very complex syndrome and affects the whole body. I find that I have to try and educate most all my doctors (many as every body part is a different specialist) They just don't understand all the features of EDS & it's comorbidities like, the Vagal fainting issues & POTS, MSA,CFS,TMJ, orthopedic issues, degenerate spine and joint subluxations,gastro, voice, eye, cardio issues,BRAIN FOG, sensitive skin etc etc the list goes on. and believe me they don't want to hear it from me or let alone have enough appointment time to discuss if did. EDS Specialists are very scarce only few in the US. And of course all self pay. So for now it's just treating each issue when they flare or arise and ignore quite a bit cause just sick and tired of being sick and tired and it's one more Dr appointment. Have had to argue with well meaning PT therapists that some things telling me to do will in fact hurt me. It would be correct in a non-eds patient. I truly don't think it's as rare as they say. I believe drs weren't educated & trained properly to even remotely recognize. And perhaps if drs got together to discuss the patient as a whole instead all separate, people might start getting proper diagnosis whatever it may be. YOU MUST BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE. To top that off back in 09 i got bells palsy due to Lyme. That is painful effects ear, eye & vision, mouth, taste, talking etc. Unfortunately that became permanently chronic and since then have actually had another 2 attacks. So thats another ongoing therapy that dosnt really help. Enough of that, I think I just wrote a book of somewhat gripping. Sorry. Anyhow, the reason for my reply back is If you both are still not quite sure what all's going on. I suggest you might want to check the EDS Society website. May not fit for your wife but then again it just might give her some more answers. All the best to you both
(Edited to add) and Yes Thank you for comparing to long haul Covid. I have used that before to explain what it's similar to. My hope is, as sad as it is to say, but my hope is that with so many having long haul (& pretty sure many haven't been diagnosed yet) that perhaps some more research will be done and perhaps a cure or at least some kind of real management.

This track I even had a line tattooed as it hit home to me "Where is my God, where are you?". Words indeed and many of use can relate to those. But behind that for Ren, again about Joe, his late friend. Anyway, more importantly, thoughts with you and your wife, sorry to hear of that. Susan here. I listened to this song at the beginning of last year. My physical health had deteriorated and mentally I was not in a good way. I felt like I had lost me. It was cathartic to hear Ren and Chinchilla singing about this with so much depth that I could feel the words in the depths of my being. The amazing thing was that in that instant I reconnected with my inner strength, where I truly know myself. I had been considering asking my GP to prescribe me an antidepressant even though I have had bad side effects in the past, instead I listened to more music from Ren's catalogue. Thankfully my mental health has improved. I have had a chronic illness for over 40 years and the grief of what I have lost because of this had hit me hard last year. I think Ren's music helped me come to terms with this and enabled me to escape from the strong emotions I was feeling.
My heart goes out to you. You have the strength in you and Ren's music tapped into it. I've heard so many stories of how his music has helped people get through chronic illness and depression and psychosis. It's tru;ly amazing. I think that's what makes his genius so much more. I'm glad you are here and that you can open up and know you are loved and appreciated in this community that shares the same orbit as a young man from Wales. Love and hugs from us both ❤️❤️

As a person who suffers from PTSD after watching his wife suffer a massive stroke 9 years ago, I latched on to your story. It flips your whole world upside down and others don't understand how difficult it can be as a spouse and a caregiver. The guilt you have for feeling exhausted, lost, and fearful of the future while they are trying their best to recover takes a toll on you. Ren's music has been my refuge since I first came across "Hi Ren" in January. My favorite thing to do in my very little free time is to watch others experience each of these songs. It is like I get to do it all over again! Thank you for sharing your journey and my best to you and your wife. Stay strong!

Glad you had the tissues for the next one. Your interpretation is astute. Ren has spoken of and written about his struggle with s* ideation and it appears that Joe played a big role in saving Ren’s life in his darkest moments because he knew the pain of a devastating loss like that. I interpret the song to be about Ren losing everything to his illness and the fallout from it over years. Ren certainly demands emotion when he performs, one way or another. I cried too ! I relate to REN’s music because my brother has fought chronic illness since he was 5 when he was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease “still’s disease” in his early twenties that is incurable . I’ve heard him question God many times . It’s heartbreaking 💔 when we can’t fix our loved ones when they are broken . Wishing your wife many blessings and happy pain free days because I’ve come to learn that’s all we can ask for . Much love to you both !!!🙏🏻
My heart goes out to him and to your family. I can't imagine having RA at that age! I have it too but it didn't start until I hit 30. It's so hard to watch them go through their suffering and not be able to help. I've asked God, begged God to give me her disease and let me to take her burden so she has some kind of life. One thing people seem to forget: even when something is “only in your head“ doesn’t mean that it doesn’t affect reality. A simple example would be say a person is sitting on a chair, and you say “oh crap, there’s a snake“ while pointing under their chair. The person jumps out of their chair, no doubt their blood pressure flies through the roof, their fear levels get going, etc. Nothing is real, it’s all in their head, but the reaction and the stress factor their body is going through is quite real. I keep this in mind whenever a friend or a loved one is “stressing out over nothing;” even though I can plainly see it’s not real…

My wife and i suffer from chronic pain every day. She has CRPS and i have degenerative disc disease in my neck and spine. We have our good days but then we have days like they described here. I cried just like you when watching this song the exact same way you are here. Your not alone my friend. Its such a hard road to find yourself on. The blessing is that your there for eachother.
