Herbert William Mullin (born April 18, 1947) is an American serial killer who killed thirteen people in California in the early 1970s. He confessed to the killings, which he claimed prevented earthquakes. In 1973, after a trial to determine whether he was insane or culpable, he was convicted of two murders in the first degree and nine in the second, and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Thank you for this riveting episode. As the detective said, we should focus on his victims, not this psycho. If ever he is paroled, I feel sure he will kill again because he is dangerously mad - even his defense lawyer said so. He blames everyone else for his horrendous crimes - even his parents for heaven's sake !! BTW : did people notice that he had his head held high in every official photo taken ? Sickening self-righteousness.

I believe this is a chemical imbalance brought on by hormonal changes but related to both that and other chemicals in our bodies. I just hope they get answers and help for these people and many other with problems, but of lesser degree.

I don't condone any thing this man did but I've had phycosis and trust me you can believe the most unbelievable things with the click of your finger! Horrific things! Horrible self destructive beliefs that if you don't do the lawn mowing at a certain time your going to be punished with horrific fear! That's just one example of thousands of different beliefs! Yet come across totally normal! And sadly 99percent of people with this illness are harmless kind people that are trapped!! It's the worst illness on the planet! It's absolutely horrible! Then add that people don't believe you or think just stop believing it! It does not work that way! It destroys lives and families! Just horrible disease!
