I love the confidence that gully bop have nothing wrong with calling out ninja man that's apart of dancehall. Give him a brake people let him live his life in peace. Gully Bop is not trying to live his life in peace, every interview I see him in, he's always seem to be building strife. Some people really can't handle success, and he's one of them.
krazeerrol, That's right! He's always trying to start something with somebody. I've noticed a lot of people have being using words such as "Confidence," "Happy," "Great," "The best" and some other "Colorful" adjectives(SMH). NOW, I REALLY have to wonder if the ignorant, dumb fools know the meaning of the words they used to describe Mr. Gully Bop--I seriously doubt it!
I've also recognized the pattern of abuse that these people keep hurling in the way of people who criticize Gully Bop, and towards the people who have failed to see how "GREAT" this Gully Bop character is. I have crazy people who have being stalking myself and my comments ALL over the place...in-boxing me some crazy messages(Like 16 comments or more to me--It CAN'T be that serious), because of my own opinions...smh.
It IS a reality that Gully Bop is just a "Fad," at the moment...a gimmick, and sort of like the clown and the tiger at a circus. It maybe a little entertaining at first, and you may want to watch them for one/two times, before you get tired and move onto something else. NOBODY is going to want to see the SAME thing EVERYDAY--Not even little infants! That's why parents are always buying new/different toys for their children on a regular basis.
Gully Bop is nothing special, and he may seem interesting to a lot of people, and so they started rooting for him(I am not criticizing them for that...NO)--"By Any Means Necessary." Now, the people who have being praising and hoisting up this man(Gully Bop)as if he were the greatest thing in Reggae music, is NOTHING SHORT OF AN INSULT to the legends/veterans. Holding him up in HIGHER REGARDS OVER some REAL bona-fide Artistes/musicians who did not, or never had the luxury of social media(Facebook, RUclips, Twitter)to give them that BIG PUSH! Instead, they ALL had to start from scratch, endured horrifying circumstances, abuse(Physical, emotional, mental abuse)...and also managed to rise to the top of their field and become/became known internationally, while being paid just "sweety money," "Snack money," "Cigarette money" and so on.
They used to MAKE GREAT music THEN, with very little rewards(Very small pay cheques)While the rubbish Artistes of today, who makes crappy, horrible unlistenable music, have being getting hundreds of thousands of dollars--even millions of dollars for their watered-down, dumb bullshit! Now, that's gotta hurt a lot, for all of the veterans/legends who had given SO much, YET reaped SO little, while all of the younger fools that they've influenced in some form or another, gets to rake in the BIG CASH, with very little effort, if any(A slap in the face).
Gully Bop's fans who love and care for him, and also who are rooting for him to succeed in every which way(Me too, I WANT him to succeed because poor life is not sweet)should LEARN to separate his LIFE, FROM his MUSIC! There is a BIG DIFFERENCE! So, NEVER bur the two. Gully Bop's story is the ULTIMATE "Rags To Riches Story," where some people could only dream of having/experiencing during their lifetime, and THAT alone makes him fascinating! Now that we've all agreed on THAT part, LETS now just STOP the nonsense about how much his music is the "Best" "Great" "greatest" blah blah blah, and a whole lot of other crap, okay? STOP acting like Gully Bop's songs are some type of B Marley, Tosh, Burning Spear, Mykal Rose, Culture, I- Wayne and a WHOLE lot more, okay...it's NOT! I just turned 40 Years old, and I wouldn't pay ANY of my hard earned money to go watch a 50 Years old man up on stage singing about: "Every Gal Want a Wuk Offa Mi," or some other ridiculous nonsense about his sexual prowess, or the male/female anatomy. As a woman, I would probably be VERY embarrassed, because it's NEVER about "Sex," for me, so...
Gully Bop's life story is fascinating; could even be turned into a movie someday. However, his music is trash...dish-water, garbage.
hndrxuntilidie I totally agree with every word you say, and you like me is not here to color code the thing, we're going to say it as we see it. The masses on a whole loves mediocrity, sensationalism and gravitate towards sub standard music.
If my memory serves me right, Gully Bop suppose to have three (3) hit songs on the streets right now including the colab he did with Barbadian female artist Imari. (a decent effort I must admit). If one should ask Bop to perform any of those songs as is on the CDs, I bet my last dollar that he couldn't, because he won't remember the lines. Even in his effort to "free style" he's not too good at it either, (an waan cum hype up pon Ninja Man) because he's running his mouth all over the place, and not sticking to a particular story line. I must be living in a cave, but, a dat people a regard as GREATNESS!!!
If Gully Bop possesses that Greatness....the next big stage show that proceeded Sting was Rebel Salute, right!?, why the promoters didn't contracted him to appear on their show!? Simple, because di people dem 'ting is not no circus/poppy show 'ting. I rest my case.
If Tony Rebel had contracted Gully Bop to perform at Rebel Salute--a show where Mutabaruka, Capleton, Luciano, Burning Spear and other NO-nonsense Reggae Artistes had graced the staged at one time or another, THEN he would've HAD to pack up his shit and be ran out of Town...REALLY!!!!
His show(Tony Rebel)would really be on "Shaky Ground" then, because I still haven't forgotten that this "Show" used to be like a tribute to Garnet Silk and also a fundraiser for the kids he left behind, then Tony Rebel sneakily turned it into "Rebel Salute" after only a few Years, and even IMPREGNATE Garnett Silk's "Wife/Baby mother"(I'm not sure which)during this process. So, I don't think he would want to inject Gully Bop into this show of his... when he already knew that a lot of people still dislike him and haven't forgiven him, to this day...lol--he knew better.

Well, the gully a turn it up! It seems to me that there's a beef between Ninja man and Gully Bop. Bop openly declared that it was the Ninja who first introduced him to cocaine in the 1990's."Something is in something"! The fact of the matter is Bop doesn't need to get hype off any DJ at the moment, and for him to accused Ninja man of introducing him to cocaine one has to look deep into this allegation for now.
There's no need for anyone to grudge Bop as his story is the most inspiring story for 2014, unfolded in Jamaica.
