Hi, glad to see you enjoying the game! One piece of advice, on the dialogue wheel, sometimes you might see a little “more” at the bottom. This is where you can find extra questions you can ask for more info or extra dialogue options unique to your character. You missed one near the end of this video, around the two hour mark. Check them out when you see them! They’re worth it.
To see your face light up in absolute glee when you realized you could make a character that looked like you was so fun! I love character creation. Super interesting to see what someone with zero context for the game will make of the story. I hope you're enjoying it - will be subscribing and making my way through your videos so far!
Happy to see newcomers enjoy the new entry! Don't let any old guard curmudgeons try to spoil your fun, Veilguard is a good enough game even if it isn't as roleplay-heavy as some of the older titles.
If you get around to it I can't recommend enough to play the series from the first game in order, its such an amazing series and the choices you make in the previous games effects the story of the future games. :D
I wonder if people realize that your background story determines extra bonuses or perks. For example, having an extra potion, more critical damage or more elemental stacks on targets.
It does say it in reasonably big text when you're choosing them. I think people will notice them, but because its hard to evaluate them or see the effect of them much, people forget about them. the +1 affliction stacks is so big though, feels huge compared to the others. But early its hard to cap out afflictions anyway.
@ I went with + affliction stacks and it does help out a lot in the end. Especially if you go with the bottom special tree and Taash as a companion. That bottom special tree will afflict burn as you afflict shock, which is easy to accomplish. And Taash will further increase the max stack limit. With Urthemiel's Ash orb and Unburnable Band + Brass Root rings and you can increase your burn and shock stacks even more. Or maybe add the unique ring Andraste's Will to the mix. The potential can be huge if you pick the right faction from the start. Some of them seem more endgame focused and others are good during the earlier levels.
