      Steve: If you have multiple setlists programmed can you access them on the foot controller Toggle to the next) or do you have to do that on the amp menu itself?

    Steve, you have no idea how much more comfortable it is to just sit on the couch and watch/listen to your explanation compared to actually reading the Fender manual! Thumbs up! ;-)

      @@SteveGuitar I got the gtx 50 a week ago. Love the sound and the build quality but the app and amp have major sync issues. Bluetooth connection takes shutting the amp on and off sometimes 3 - 4 times to connect and a lot of times when you make preset changes in the app , the amp is still hung and not responding. Unbelievable that fender can't put a decent bluetooth radio in the amp. The other thing I really dislike is that most of the newer amps take up so much processing power that you can in a lot of cases only add like 3 total effects.

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  3 года назад

      Sz Ki Hey, I’ve heard about some of these issues but haven’t really experienced many of them myself. I agree, the Bluetooth isn’t perfect, and sometimes mine just doesn’t connect quickly, but I have very few issues overall. What type of device are you using? I really recommend, if you have it yet, going to this forum thread: www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/the-official-fender-mustang-gtx-amp-thread-2020.2113060/page-188#post-31115308. There are dozens and dozens of posts just like yours, and a lot of people have figured out some solutions, a number of people are on older devices, others have Wi-Fi issues where they aren’t on the right 2.4 or 5.0 frequency, or their Wi-Fi password is too long, etc. etc. But sometimes it is the amp’s problem. Still, you may find solutions or at least some overall help there. There’s a ton of great questions and answers, and experts. Hope that helps!

    That Fender amp sounds very good, and obviously is jam-packed with features. I just bought a Boss Katana II 100 watt that I think might just go back to the store for a trade.😊. I had a lesser wattage and earlier Fender Mustang II that sounded horrible to me and was not easy to use. This Fender amp is definitely quite different in a good way! That foot switch is icing on the cake!

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  3 года назад

      Awesome comment. I also bought the katana 50, and I just never really liked the clean tones compared to a good fender amp. So I sold it 🤣 And yes, these mustangs are way better than their first generation ones. They did some major firmware updates, and they sound great now. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the video, I did not use the setlist option before, just rearranged everything. Only annoying thing is if you use the build in tuner from the pedal and go back, it moves back to the standard presets, instead of the setlist... anything to resolve this?

    I just bought a gtx-7 button foot switch and it’s not going well. I want to use it to play 5 presets instead of the 3 in the 4 button one. I try to set a preset but it’s just going from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on. I’m trying to set ones like 44, 73, 52 like that. Not go through each one individually. Please help.

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  3 года назад

      I think what you need to do is create a set list. You can have any five presets in your set list, and once you activate it from the amplifier, then the foot switch controls those five instead of 1 2 3 4 5

    Hello Steve, I love your videos I recently purchased the GTX 50 myself and stumbled across your RUclips channel. I love learning more of what you’re posting so keep it up please.
    I’m also wondering have you had any Bluetooth connectivity issues? I’ve reached out to Fender but have not heard back and it’s glitchy. It seems like every time I turn off the amplifier the Bluetooth disconnects from my iPhone and then I have to unpair and pair he Bluetooth to have the functionality work bThere might be a problem with my amplifier; however, I didn’t know if you ran into any problems with your GTX 50?

      Hi Fram. I had bluetooth issues as well. I did get a response from Fender and they sent me a link tone-support.fender.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003535366-I-m-having-problems-streaming-audio-over-Bluetooth-to-my-Mustang-GT-or-Rumble-digital-amp-and-also-using-the-Tone-app-everything-seems-slow . I think the issues with connectivity come from using the Fender Tone amp and playing tracks through the amp via bluetooth at the same time. The amp connects twice to your device and causes confusion for the connection. This is not ideal but hopefully Fender can doe something about it in the future.

      @@curtis100 Hello Curtis, thanks for your input on this issue. However, I'm having issues just connecting Bluetooth with the APP (iOS). I have to "pair" the phone with the Amp every time I turn it on. I have no issues until I shut off the amp and try to play next time. Ironically, I returned it because I was not receiving a response from Fender. Though Fender just emailed me today; nonetheless, without any solution. I took it into the Guitar Center where I purchased it and they were having similar issues. I figured I'd wait until I got a response because I didn't want to find out there was a problem with the amp and be stuck with it. I've been using so many of the modeling tones that its a lot more convenient to change through the app than scrolling through the menu. I really love the sound and had so much fun playing with all the tones.

  • @vectortonto1

    Nice Video Steve!! I was curious so I had to try out the Setlist tip you were referring to. That's interesting. It would be really nice if you could "select" a setlist from the mobile app.
    The other thing is how do you get past the 1st 5 in the setlist? When I tried holding down the bank button it threw me out of the setlist mode and back into regular mode
    (maybe I did something wrong).
    Another tone idea would be to explain how to use the 2290 delay with the dotted 8th to get close to what Edge is doing on the Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree. Not sure how many
    out there are U2 nuts but I am. Keep the videos coming, loved the editing on Gatsby :)

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  4 года назад +1

      pat brown thanks Pat, I’m glad you like the Gatsby stuff. I thought I would just have a little fun there. About U2, I love the Joshua Tree album. My “Clean 4“ tone has the dotted eighth, though I’ve never been awesome at that type of delay. And I think you are right about getting booted out of the set list. I’m not sure, so I hope someone else can chime in. I think you can only have your first five in a set list show up on the pedal. I haven’t fully explored that yet.

      Very cool, John. Thanks for watching.
      And I’m not an expert on everything, but I believe the answer here is to use the “studio preamp“ for both the amplifier and the cab. That’s the cleanest, non-affected signal for your use case, if I’m correct.
