Loved this “rejection hurts, but we move” ✨🙌🏾 I also advise that individuals try and tweak their resume and or cv each time you apply to a job or internship, tailor it to the job you’re applying for. If you have a skills section in your cv or resume, slide in the companies “required skills and job description” information in there, you make it easier for them to pick you when they k ow you have taken time to look at what they want and write out which of them applies to you! Great video!!!
You should go over some interview or networking tips. I've been applying to internships like CRAZY and I've had two interviews which were all cancelled due to Covid.
Hey, how did you get an intern in ChemE? I don't have any experience. I was a waitress for a year while I went to school full time and have my own place. The only thing I have is a good GPA... What do I put on a resume??
For the first internship, you will have to apply everywhere you can to get your foot in the door; the internship I had wasn't a ChemE role. For your resume, put any school involvement you have, technical skills such as programming, and the previous job experiences you've had.
@@AlsworthTV thank you man! I wish you a great success! Oh and btw I'm from the Philippines so I'll use the clubs you mentioned as a reference on what I'm gonna pick. Thank you! 😁
How far away from home is it reasonable to apply for an internship? And at what point is it best to apply for one, (in what year? I'm about to transfer into Chem E. from community college)?
Gerardo Ontiveros It depends on if have money to pay for accomodations, although some companies will help with that. Otherwise, I would advise to apply to one close to home to save money. Apply as soon as possible, it’s never too early.
@@AlsworthTV What were your most useful tools for looking up all these internships you were qualified for? I'm having a hard time exploring and finding where to start.
@@MrJguy2000 Indeed and Handshake were two I used a lot. Indeed has a whole bunch of job opportunities , and you can even filter it based on location, gpa, and major.

Daniel Mensah My Guyyy 🙌🏾
Whats your age when you've graduated in Chemical engineering
I haven't graduated yet, I'm in my third year
What exactly do you do as a ChemE major and what kind of jobs can you get?
This article explains it pretty well:
www.google.com/amp/s/www.livescience.com/amp/48134-what-is-chemical-engineering.html
This maybe late, but which clubs do you recommend that is close to Chemical Engineering?
AICHE (American institute of ChE), Chem-E-Car, it depends on what clubs your school offers, but try to join at least one engineering related club.

No problem, glad it helped! 🙏🏾
What professional organizations/clubs are you personally involved with that helped boost your résumé?
-NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers)
-AICHE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers)
-Chem-E-Car
I had a below 3.0 GPA too
Thank you so much!!!
Also go for public speaking clubs
did you get your professional exams?
Professional exams ? Not 100% sure what you mean
@@AlsworthTV here in the Philippines we call it “board exams” to get our license as engineers. do you have an exam to get your license?
@@LilacBear1234 oh yeah, we also have that here in the U.S. I didn’t do it cause I was an intern at this point

عمار عبد الوارث 🙌🏾 Appreciate It
But it seems I am tired of applying, I am not getting replies
Sowole Aishat I felt the same way, I applied to 70+ places before I got my first acceptance. Don’t let that that discourage you
@@AlsworthTV ok I will keep trying, thank you
