Anakin Skywalker turning away from the lava fields of Mustifar. Seeing Padme lay there near lifeless. Images from his visions that prompted all this misery flashing thorugh his mind alongside visions of himself choking her.
Dawning horror that this is what his visions were trying to warn him of. And then he sees it. Palpatine's shuttle.
Palpatine.
Sideious.
The man who put him through the clone wars. The man twisted his fear til he had lsot everything. Obi-Wan. Ahsoka. the Order.... Padme. His .... Child.
Rage building. Cold fury. He would reach with hte force. Batter through whatever Palpatine tried to throw in his way and *SQUEEZE* with everything he had. Anakin couldn't see, couldn't breathe. The roaring sun-dragon at his heart lashing out at this withered old man seducing him. Twisting him into a thing he was supposed to protect everyone from.
And so here is the tale of Anakin Skywalker I. The Lonely Emperor.

I envision a ballroom of some kind. It's either Padme's Life Day or the anniversary of their wedding, and Anakin is waltzing by himself, arms positioned as if holding her, and remembering how good and peaceful that felt. (7/7/2022)

I’ve been around since you used to post those anakin, kenobi, ahsoka or Vader themes. Truly an honor to have you back Lucas.
Anakin lost the one person he cared about most in the world, even though he tried so hard, fought so hard, went so far to save her. He didn't just ask, no, he *demanded* the universe allow him to win. He threw away everything he believed in, betrayed his Master, his Jedi, his Republic, his *humanity* all just for a chance to be with Padme forever. And in the end, he failed. Everything he ever fought for, all of the blood, sweat, and tears, was for nothing. And it broke him.
People see Darth Vader as a villain. All I see is a shattered man who lived for too long, because now he has nothing left to live for. A walking corpse. Anakin's Force Ghost looks so young not because the Light Side doesn't recognize his existence as a Sith. It's because Anakin Skywalker died the day Padme did. His hopes and dreams, all gone when she took her last breath.
"This is outrageous! It isn't fair!" Anakin screamed.
No, it's not. The galaxy, or the Force for that matter, never cared about you or your insignificant problems. It was up to you. And you failed. Let that be a lesson to all of us, that no matter how passionate we are about something, in the end, no one cares and it does not matter to anyone except ourselves. Accept reality is a cruel place that does not take into account our efforts to impose our will upon it. We must move on. We must forget about our dead dreams, or they will kill us.
*Have you ever heard of the tragedy of Darth Vader the Passionate? It is not a story the Jedi would tell you...*
