He only won with Cowhers teams and coaches. He lost to the Packers as a favorite and is 3-9 in the playoffs since then. Pittsburgh isn't the franchise that accepts mediocrity and first round playoff losses.
He did nothing with the 3 B's and underachieved every season, out coached every season, losing to lesser teams and inferior coaches, and oh by the way, lost back to back games against 2-10 teams this past year, AT HOME.

Russel has his legion of boom with the steel curtain and blitzburgh players! I see this being 2014-2015 all over again I am so confident in him and to think I had confidence in Mitch and Kenny when they played only to be let down unfortunately, but Mason was the big surprise coming out towards the end of the season he made them 2 qbs look like back ups to him! I wish nothing more but for the success of Mason Rudolph in Tennessee as he left this organization with gods good grace and peace with the Steelers fan who always doubted him.

I was always a fan of him back in my HS days watching him play in the 2013-2015 era. as a DB HS player learning from that team at the era and time was a great experience and then he heart ripped my soul when he threw that INT but overall Russ is that man and game manager I always hated how he torched my Steelers everytime he played against us. Russ may be 35, in Nov. turns 36 but this isn't Denver or Seattle this is Pittsburgh. He will not have to drop back 50 times and throw the ball. He will be just what the Steelers need, a QB that can complete passes when needed and not turn it over. Run, Run, Pass and play good defense. Control the clock, time of possession is key and Pittsburgh has done well at this style of football. Good fit for Pittsburgh not long term but a solid QB to bridge the gap. Fields may not be the answer for the future but you have to start somewhere with someone and build from there. Ints. and fumbles are an issue with Fields but maybe he can work on that, he won't need to run in Pittsburgh we have guys who can run, just play QB.

Denver fans can’t seem to understand this.. we’re a totally different team than them.
To be honest run, run, pass was what they tried in Denver and that run, run was horibble, so it always was 3rd and long when teams knows you must throw the ball and you must do that behind horrible OL. I watched every Broncos game. And he still produced good stat and when he was allowed to play, like in 4th quarter when they needed him to save them, he actually delivered most of the time. So if Steelers can have good OL and produce good run game, Wilson will be fine. He won't have 40+ TDs season, but he can easily have 25-30 TDs season.

I'm a Seahawks fan and got sick of Rus a few years into his career. I was thrilled when he was traded to Denver and enjoyed seeing him struggle but I'm pulling for him now. Dudes been classy all the way through. I think the Steelers are the best fit possible.

Russ is NOT going to lose his starting spot to Justin Fields. Fields is a nice athletic talent but he’s nowhere near the caliber of QB he would have to be to unseat Russ, even with Russ being 35. In fact, I’ll take it a step further. I don’t think there’s a QB in the league who could pry this gig away from him. He has a look in his eye that I haven’t seen since he was a rookie.
